Staff is unavailable & undertrained ”
Had to wait at reception for 20mins to check in before 4 piled out of the office laughing and giggling, I’d obviously interrupted their chat. Waited 40minutes to be brought one drink, waited for 30minutes at an empty bar for another round with the staff having no sense of urgency, or capability of making a simple gin and tonic.
Good for young kids”
The clarion is a great spot to bring the kids for a weekend, close to the town and some great beaches and a good pool and kids games room. Family room with kitchenette was great. Good value on the family set menu in the restaurant for €50. Carpets etc a bit stained but clean but when you have young kids it's not a big deal, however a terrible sewer smell coming from the bath and sink plug holes was a nightmare, had to keep the plugs in the plug holes and the bathroom door closed right to try to keep the smell out of the rest of the room!
Dirtys Hotel Room in Ireland ”
Room so dirty, dirt falling of bedroom walls dust floating in the air, dirty headboard on bed, dirty table. When I made complaint to DUTY MANAGER reply was they have been very busy for some weeks and had not time to clean room, she will speak to housekeeper. If the hotel is busy they it is taking in money and should employ suitably qualified cleaning staff. My stay in the hotel was disappointing.
Gréât exception internet not working properly un my Room
Hassle free, made welcome by friendly receptionist who took time to make us feel at home.Once we found the room we were happy.Shower took some figuring out but worked fine.
Elegance and lovely atmosphere”
Such a lovely place with nice rooms and facilities. Historic building with clean surrounding and ample carpark spaces. You need a car to go around since this is some way out of town. We did enjoy our time with friendly and helpful staff. Dinner was good and well catered for. Walkway to rooms are long and concierge may be needed if you have heavy luggage. We would recommend this place if you visit Sligo.
heartbreak hotel ”
room - good size - 80% room heating - too hot and not able to control - open window ? television - you would need a physics degree to operate - useless bar - cold and empty reception - / cold / heartless / empty restaurant - closed - unbelievable - only food available was bar food and that was bland - had to go to town for decent meal breakfast - usual - adequate leisure facilities - good pool with sauna and steam room - please provide locks for lockers. we asked to book out later than 12 mid-day and told that this would cost another - we were told the hotel has 200+ rooms of which 70 were occupied at this time - petty minded attitude.
throughly enjoyed our stay at the clarion hotel, and no doubt we will be back for another stay in the future!the staff are really friendly and helpful, rooms are clean and the breakfast is really good!
Great family hotel”
Great hotel, value for money. Rooms are hugh and great when you have young children with you. Pool and kids club excellent. Was new years eve when we were there and there was a family disco so that kept kids entertained. We love this hotel ans so does our kids we will def be back
worst hotel in ireland”
worst hotel i have ever stayed in. u hd to take alift up then walk 500yards to take a lift down and then walk 500 yards to the room whilst dragging luggage.on final day of stay no lifts working no receptionist to answ, so we had to go up and dwn stairs wth no helper phone to request a porter to help with luggage so we had to struggle up and down stairs on our own. same breakfast for 3 consecutive mornings and always cold in 2 words....... never again.
I stayed in the Clarion Sligo a few weeks ago and had a very pleasant stay. this time it was a different experience. We were wakened at four in the morning by a very drunk person in the next room making intolerable noise. He refused to be quiet until the night porter came up to the room. The next morning we used the staircase to go down for breakfast. There was a patch of badly cleaned up vomit on the stairs. Very unpleasant!
Short Stay in Sligo”
I was very happy with my stay in the Sligo Clarion Hotel. The staff were very pleasant and friendly, particularly the dining staff at breakfast. There was ample safe parking available. The grounds in the Clarion Hotel which was originally a hospital are beautiful, an ideal location for a wedding or that special occasion.
clarion hotel review”
The Clarion is a really family friendly hotel. It is set in a good location and is easy to get too and well sign posted. The rooms are really spacious which you need especially when you have children. I went with my wife, and 2 children aged 10 and 3. The rooms are also spotless clean. We all loved the hotel but my children especially, the leisure facilities are excellent. There is also kids activities such as mini golf, and arts and crfts ( at a small charge, also a movie every evening at 6pm til 8pm in the movie room for the kids. The foyer of the hotel is really lovely decor and is nice just to relax and chill out in the evening. The breakfast was excellent a huge variety of food to choose from. Staff also very helpful and friendly. Overall a brilliant time was had and I would definitely go back and recommend to friends and family, I couldn't fault it in any way.
