great location, good breakfast”

I am impressed by the convenient location by the hotel, which is 6mins away from train station, all tourist spots are easily assessable with just 10-15 minutes away from walking. They don’t provide essentials like slippers or toothbrushes so make sure you bring your own. The complimentary breakfast is awesome with a range of choice! Friendly staff, I have a great stay.

Small niggles, could easily be fixed.”

Excellent location, within the walls but quiet at night. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Room small but adequate, with hanging space but no drawers or shelves, so had to live out of suitcase for 5 nights, also nowhere to hang damp towels in bathroom. Sheets too narrow for 5ft bed so kept wrinkling up. Bathroom door of frosted glass so toilet user was quite visible to person sitting on bed! 😳 All these niggles could easily be fixed. Shame, as place was otherwise excellent.

Hampton by Hilton York is the most caring hotel that I've ever stayed. Staff are friendly and reliable. They treat me like their friend. I particularly like Karmen, Peter, and other receptionists. They helped us do laundry and followed my request for not doing tumble dry but hanging washed clothes on hangers. I also like the staff member who cleaned my room on 4/F on 22 June.

Cosy and clean”

The hotel itself was fantastic. We slept well. If you are driving, you need to take note that the public parking is on the opposite side of the road. Look out for the sign 'Long Stay' on the left before you see the hotel on the right. Remember to get the parking ticket validated by the hotel to get a discounted rate.

Neat and tidy hotel with reasonable price”

I enjoy my stay at Hilton York Hotel. The reception staff is nice and helpful. Besides, I book it several months before the journey and so the price is quite good. The location of the hotel is close to the train station. Besides, it takes only 10 minutes to walk to the main tourist attractions. Besides, breakfast are prepared for all the guests here. The quality is good according to the price I pay. I would strongly recommend this for you.

Beautiful place”

Had a delightful stay here for a few days. Got to explore the beautiful city of york and was well-rested at night when returning to stay at this clean and well-located hotel. English breakfast was absolutely delicious and a must have!

Nice hotel, Free Breakfast”

The hotel is located near York train station (not in the city center). It is easy to walk from the station but you can't see good view in the city. We got lost a little bit when walking from the train station to the hotel. Hotel is comfort and clean. Good thing for this hotel is breakfast offers for every guest. Breakfast is also quite good. Impressive!

Good Stay Value for Money ”

It was friendly stay and the location was good near the train station - though you have to take note that it is opposite of train station. its within walking distance to the attraction. The room was clean, internet speed was good, staff efficient and breakfast is a good spread. Would recommend this hotel as a key choice when going to York.

A modern designed hotel with good breakfast”

The hotel is located near to rail station. Facilities are all well-maintained and the room we stayed is large and comfortable. The breakfast is good and a variety of choices are available. More importantly, the room price is reasonably low.

Value for money, comfortable and near to railway”

The hotel is about a five-minute walk from the railway station and is just located beside the York Town Council. The route to the hotel is a little uphill for 20-50 meters but it's not too bad even if you've luggage to pull like we did. It's just beside the old city wall which we had some fun climbing up and walking along. The sight is not breathtaking but still quite refreshing. The hotel serves English breakfast (scrambled eggs, bacon, baked beans etc.), bread, croissants, porridge, fruits, tea, coffee and juices, and it isn't too bad to have to start a day. The breakfast area is a little small though and you may find it very crowded, especially if you go down late. You can easily walk to the city area in 5 mins and York is an absolutely lovely place to visit. There's a lot of shopping to do and if you like cats like us, they also have a cat trail for you to locate the 16 cat sculptures scattered on buildings in York City. We had fun doing that after the shops closed and we had nothing else better to do (it was summer when we just went and it was still bright and shining until 10 pm). Just google for "York Cat Trail" for more information. Overall it's a great hotel with a clean comfortable room and value for money. I will definitely stay here again next time when I visit York.

the hotel is walking distance to the rail station and the city, making it very convenient. the breakfast was also nice with variety of selection to choose from. the room is clean and modern with sofa bed provided.

During my stay me and my 2 children decided to eat at the restaurant. The food was of a very poor standard considering the price of it and therefore I spoke to Lauren who was extremely helpful in seeing what could be done about the matter. When she returned, she was very apologetic and said that she had spoken to her manager who offered myself and my daughter a free alcoholic drink and my son some sweets. I find it quite rude that she didn’t come to speak to us herself. This made me want to look at staying elsewhere in the future. I’d advise to anyone looking to stay here to not at the restaurant as you will be very disappointed with the food and service provided.

Noisy”

I have learning difficulties, and am classed as disabled so travelled with my carer.we were put into a room opposite a night club,so was kept up most of the night with the noise,so don't book a room at the front.

Breakfast was very well done. Many choices and of good quality. Food service and bar in the lobby also very nice. Location is close to the railway station. Noise from adjacent pubs and music venue is attenuated by excellent windows.

We really enjoyed our time at Hampton by Hilton, everyone was so friendly and helpful! Rooms were modern and very clean and the breakfast was amazing! Lots of gluten free options also which was a nice surprise! Highly recommend this hotel!
