About 10 minutes walk from town but nice walk and safe. Seems quite expensive but still cheaper than anything else around. Nice beds and a very nice owner.
Great, cheap and kind owner”
It was a bit far away from the main town, but cheap and good. We arrived late, and the owner waited for us, and it was really sweet. And the day we check out, we had to get up early, and she even got up to make breakfast for us. So nice!
No reason to stay here
A great desert experience”
La Kasa del Rio is a great budget hotel, clean, safe and comfortable, which offers a desert experience that many similar hotels do not. Part of the charm of the hotel is its location about 15 minutes stroll away from Caracoles street, the main street of San Pedro. That gives you the opportunity to stay in a rural environment, rather than in the busy downtown, and enjoy peace and quiet, as well as the most amazing star filled sky. The hotel itself consists of a one story building arranged around two spacious courtyards. The room in which I stayed had a comfortable double bed, and was clean and spacious. The shower and bathroom were across the courtyard, and hot water was available at night. There is also a large dining room/kitchen which I did not use. The location of the hotel is on the side of a dirt road, Calle Domingo Atienza, just after it crosses a small river. For some reason there is no sign with the hotel name, just with the address - Pasaje Cuchabrache 1. Just knock on the door, or ring the bell of the next door down, and someone will open the door for you. The lady of the house is very kind and ready to help with advice. A taxi to the bus station costs 6 Bolivianos - less than US$1. Overall, a great place to stay and enjoy the rural and desert aspects of San Pedro.
not a good choice”
