The room seemed clean but smelled like the street. We tried to open the room or turned Air condition on but still could not get rid of the smell. Toilet was broken and bed was wobbly and loud every time I moved. Can’t say how it’s a 4-star hotel…

The First impression since we checked in with the receptionist was already bad : not welcoming, in a rush, multi tasking without being a minimum polite, almost felt like I was begging to sleep there for free. Ended up in a last floor-maid look aliked-room (326), under the roof, next to the fitness (which was closed due to Covid as was the pool too), definitely not a 4 stars even lowest standard, anyways... To be honest i had been welcomed better even in some hostels... On top of that I got charged twice for my room despite I prepaid it (figured this out after I checked-in in the room), my mistake even I was tired, but how come it didn’t show up in the computer of the hotel when i told them i will check out early by 6 am ? Let’s see if as they promised I would get my refund. On top of all that, we had no hot water to shower... the reception said it was a problem on the entire building. Luckily i stayed only one short night. One star only for the close location if you plan to catch a ferry.

again in Gran Duca - Hotel again quite good”
obviously I am the only one rating that hotel - but again I have to state that the hotel is really OK, especially for the price, centrally located, room clean with fast internet, breakfast - italian - so dont expect too much choice. I will chose again, it is not needed to spend more money for a hotel in Livorno.

We chose the hotel because of its convenient location near the ferry terminal. However, it was more than that. Although our room was small, it was comfortable and the bathroom was above average. The biggest surprise was the excellent restaurant where we enjoyed one of the best dinners of our three-week trip.

again in gran duca, again it was not bad. the hotel is in old building and charming, it was quite clean. except the room in the thrid floor is nothing for big people (watch your head). breakfast - italian, but the sweets and the coffe was good. price and worth is really ok here.

Gran Duca is a real old Italian Hotel, old building but quite comfortable. The room space is absolutely OK, the breakfast for Italian circumstances offers good choice of things. There is enough parking also outside the Hotel parking (what can only be used with small cars) and they give you a paper to park for free outside. The location is near the crowded road but I couldnt hear the cars at night. You can reach downtown by walk. I would dsay all OK.

Dachzimmer nur wer Treppen laufen kann möglich.Sehr heisses und aufgeheiztes Zimmer.Am Hafen ist die ganze Nacht starker und lauter Autoverkehr hörbar.Im Preisangebot wurde Parkplatz angeboten,musste mich wehren,die Reception wollte das wir den Parkplatz bezahlen.Nach langen Diskussionen mussten wir den nicht noch dazu bezahlen.Unfreundliche Receptionistin.

Für Leute die mit der Fähre abfahren oder ankommen vollkommen ok für eine Nacht. Kühlung der Zimmer könnte wirklich besser funktionieren.

Das Zimmer wahr sauber und grosszügig. Den kleinen Balkon müsse wieder mal geputzt werden. Ebenfalls hat man nicht viel Privatsphäre auf den Balkon. Man könnte ganz leicht von Balkon zu Balkon steigen und auch die fenster könnte man leicht von aussen öffnen. Das personal wahr freundlich. Die parksituation ist etwas mühsam. Es wahr schon fast glück einen parkplatz vor dem hotel zu finden. Die einfahrt vom hotelparkhaus wahr so eng das wir mit unserem grossen SUV keine chance hatten zum parkieren.

Meine Freundin ist im Laufe unseres Aufenthaltsnach der ersten Nacht krank geworden. Wir baten um Stornierung der zweiten Nacht oder zumindst eine Teil-Rückerstattung, da das Hotel das Zimmer nach unserem Auszug ja wieder anderweitig vermieten kann. Das Hotel akzeptierte die Stornierung nicht und wir mussten trotzdem den vollen Preis für das Zimmer bezahlen. Für die erhaltene Leistung war der Preis sehr hoch, Parkplätze waren ebenfalls keine vorhanden. Da habe ich kleinere, deutlich günstigere Hotels schon viel Kulanter erlebt, daher erhält das Hotel eine schlechte Preis-/Leistungsbewertung. Wir werden nicht wieder kommen.

unfortunately I got a ticket from city of livorno when I was driving to the hotel. Obviously there is a new rula that you are not alowed to drive in the city at all the times. I do not know how to avoid. So next time I will have to use a hotel outside of the city.
