close to the sapporo station and odori park area | relatively bigger rooms compared to average hotel room size in japan | very nice interior (it feels like we're in europe) | it has the basic amenities that you need: toiletries, pajamas, hair dryer, hot/cold water, heated toilet seat with bidet, deodorizer spray for clothes and shoes, bottled water (although you can safely drink from the tap almost anywhere in japan), tea and water heater | friendly staff | hassle-free check in and check out highly recommended and we will stay here again when we visit sapporo next time with family and/or friends! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

- 酒店擁有歐式建築的外觀，內裡的裝潢都非常歐洲風格，連電梯也相當古典 - Twin room 房間非常寬敞，Double room 房間有會小一點，但都可開到兩個喼。有三人房可揀 - 自助早餐食物多款式、有日式、西式、超過五款果汁選擇，很多食品也標籤使用北海道產食材烹調出來，也#提供兒童餐具/high chair - 酒店一樓有很#漂亮的中庭花園，四週都有很多雕像和畫作，環境非常舒適 - 有免費wifi提供、可借adaptor、可直接泊車在酒店地牢夠方便（但要另外收泊車費，每晚1500円，但可無限出入多次） - 飯店門口就可看到札幌電視塔、便利店也非常近喔，直行到狸小路或大通公園只需10-15分鐘，向車站方向就有大商場、有big camera, uniqlo, GU⋯ - 酒店主要出入口是一個小小的門口，入去後要直行入一小段路才到check-in counter

Japanese Hospitality”

I stayed here for two nights. The was a bit old or maybe it's the concept of the hotel. But everything you need were in the room. So the room was pretty spacious! They even had an air purifier machine. The hotel was near JR Station and you can easily recognized the hotel from afar. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. Also, they've provided a mobile phone you can use but I wasn't able to use it.

Very Good, Best Hotel I ever stay in Japan”

Stayed for 1 night only to catch the early morning flight. The location is nice which is just minutes of walk from Sapporo JR station. Could have a shopping walk at the malls around stations. We arrived early and staff at reception warmly welcomed. We stored the luggage and discovered they had been carried to room when we come back for checking-in. Room is big, same as bed. Kind of traditional American style furniture. Quite at night. Truly recommended.

Large and cozy room ”

We stayed in the standard size room this time. The room is big and we can move around freely. It’s a room with a lot of window so that u can enjoy the sunshine easily. The hotel room is clean and tidy. The hotel staff can speak and understand English well. The only point that it has an disadvantage over other Sapporo hotel is the location (it takes 8-10mins walk from JR station). Overall, a good choice to stay in Sapporo.

Large cozy room”

Room size is reasonable. Large enough to keep two middle to large suitcases open. The room is tidy and cozy. It takes 10mins walk from JR station (south exit) but given that it’s room quality and size, will recommend this hotel for those who don’t want to overspend but looking for a reasonable size and cozy room in Sapporo.

Hotel staff had an excellent service. The room was very clean. Good location and easy to find, you can see hotel while the train approach to Sapporo station. Love the hotel decorations. Love everything and definitely be back :)

Lovely European-themed room”

We were impressed the minute we walked in. The designs were elaborate and made us feel like we were at 2 places at once (Japan and Europe). The room was very spacious. We arrived at the peak of winter in Sapporo but the heating system inside the hotel was excellent. The staff seemed to be uncomfortable dealing with people who speak English. Overall, it was an amazing stay and we recommend this hotel to those traveling to Sapporo.

The location is little bit far from Sapporo Station. We should go out to East and cross the street 2 times. At the room we can see the TV Tower. In the room there was a handy which is we can use internet and telephone include international call.

worth to stay ”

The location is good, you just need to cross a road (main road though) from the underground walkway which lead to the Sapporo station for train and subway. there is a handy mobile for hotel guests where you can bring along with you and you go out for site seeing. you can use it for calls and internet, which is a surprise for us. the others like hotel staffs, facilities are all good. Definitely will go back to stay when I travel to sapporo again.

Cute antique hotel with excellent service”

Such an adorable antique hotel within minutes walk from Sapporo station. We were delighted with the spacious rooms( rare in Japan's cities) & awed by the staff's prompt service. They were professional & helpful at every request that I had ( borrowing a wheelchair for my son who had an accident & couldnt walk), getting a cab for us to go to the hospital & arranging transport to the airport. from 18-20 December 2017. The driver Mr Tanayaki Konishi from the taxi company that they hired on our behalf on 20 December 5.30am was very helpful to carry our luggage to departure hall & checked that we were comfortable. I cant wait to come back again next winter to enjoy the hospitality extended to us.

My second stay at this hotel, brought my family this time. Though only half of us enjoyed the very English feel of the place, the rest are not very used to it! But they love it nonetheless. We drive but even on foot, we can access mostly everywhere from here. Very convenient. Good breakfast too!

Nice old hotel”

This is an old European style hotel. However, it is well kept. It is within walking distance to Sapporo station. The staff are very helpful too. I will consider this hotel again if I come back to Sapporo.

Elegant, Grand, and Stately Hotel”

Hotel with elegant, old-world decor and charm. The elevators had analog floor indicators! Easily the most impressive hotel we stayed on this trip. Summary Review (+ for good, - for negative, = for neutral) + Location. Most convenient. + Spacious. Value for money. (S$1030 for 6 nights) + Free Wifi + Charger (standard). = Western-style tub (i.e. not deep. Richmond and Dormy Inn were "Japanese" tubs - deeper. Not a major issue). = Also not a personal issue - No onsen. - No coffee. Just tea. - Mirror in bathroom not heated (i.e. not anti-misting/fogging. All the other hotels bathrooms had heated mirrors where one section of the mirror - if not the whole mirror - would not fog up if the room got too "steamy". Wife said this was because it was old-style and probably difficult to install heated mirrors and still be consistent with the architecture).

Great old-royal style hotel - affordable deal”

Got it at 75%. Charming old hotel but well preserved. Got upgraded to a junior suite. Walking distance from the station and major downtown sights & shopping. Quiet. Good onsen. Many Chinese/Hongkongers/Koreans - no issue with that, just mentioning... Efficient reception staff. Fast internet (room by room), no password. Would stay there again - liked it better than the sister hotel across the road (Monterey Edelhof). Enjoy your stay!

Charming ”

This hotel is such a pleasant one. From the exterior to the indoor layout all the way to the rooms. What an enjoyable stay indeed. The good include: room was spacious, like a typical western style but with Japanese amenities. Beds, pillows all comfy. The patio in the atrium is quite beautiful. The hotel is near the Sapporo station - easily about 5 minutes (without luggages). Can also walk to major tourist sites such as Okada, tower, clock tower, even the Sapporo factory stores. Hotel staff are also friendly. The area to be improved could possibly be the lobby which needs better lighting. The panels around it are dark colored so on a winter season it feels cold and drab. But overal it was worth it- real good value for your money. Will check out other Monterey hotels in other parts of Japan. I understand they own a chain of hotels.

Great stay at Hotel Monterey for the price that we are paying. The location is not too bad as it's a 10-15mins walk from JR Sapporo. ESTA is nearest to the hotel through walking. At the basement level, the food court is always full with people with a lot of variety of food. Daimaru is on the other side through the underground exit. The room is quite big according to most Japanese standard. We paid around $530 sgd for 6 nights stay and it's definitely a very good price. The staff however, are not as friendly but still acceptable as all the basic requirements are all met anyways. Good stay!
