Worst place I’ve stayed in Sri Lanka”
Extremely noisy place, had a family of Indians next to me that would argue for hours at a time 11pm, 2am, 4am. Staff did minimal about it. Asked staff how long they were staying as I would have cancelled my stay and moved elsewhere right from the start, I was assured they were leaving after 2 days... they didn’t! Wifi is also useless. As per most accomodation in Sri Lanka it is over priced for what it is.
Great cottage in a fantastic garden , wonderful staff and a very nice „ boss“ . Loved staying there for a week , enjoyed the super breakfast and was really sad to leave because they had no vacancy any more ! Thank you all !
Gardens are nice!”
The first night my bed collapsed... none of the bed boards were actually attached to the bed frame nor had they the length to properly support ... yes I’m 95kgs but that was not the issue. But this incident certainly put me in a critical frame... pun intended. No plug in the sink, no drinking cups or glasses. Rustic would be a nice word but neglect has allowed that word to be a negative. Basin loose, like don’t lean on it or you’ll have the same fate as the bed! Floor boards were completely wonky, water pressure pathetic, and internet so intermittent it made it very difficult to book your next leg of the journey... the mosquito net over the bed makes no sense as the gaps in the floorboards under the bed seems to attract them into the net... a large mat would fix this problem... I felt there was a lack of care for the customer in the room but yes; nice coffee shop and bakery attached and nice breakfast and as I said nice gardens.
very basic but nice hotel”
nice hotel with very helpful staff but its very basic, and lacks some things that are expected of hotels these days. if you're not super fussy then i would recommend this place. likes - great location, helpful staff, beautiful garden, awesome breakfast and amazing french bakery on site, nice and quiet, and hammock in the garden. things that could be better - no tv, fridge or safe in room, no complimentary water, internet is incredibly slow, 1 tiny bar of soap was provided for a 3 bedroom bungalow, there's no do not disturb/please clean room signs.
Can we move in?”
We were so at home, we extended an extra night. Our bed is so comfortable, the breakfast is amazing, the garden is beautiful and the location is close to restaurants, shops, fruit stands and the beach. We rented scooters one day for 1000 rupees from a place down the street and rode to Galle Fort, Jungle Beach, and then watched the sunset at Mihiripenna Beach and had a fun filled day.
The spacious gardens with bird life and animal life is so lovely with plenty of places to relax in the garden to watch and listen. A beautiful French bakery out front is a major bonus. Room is cool and comfortable with lots of fresh air. The water pressure in shower and toilet was very low but still workable (just). Access to drinking water so can fill up your water bottle. Delicious fresh croissant for breakfast with fruit and a good cup of tea. Staff very friendly and hospitable. Thank you.
Wunderschönes bungalow, in einer sehr schöne Anlage, preisleistung verhältnis top. Gutes Frühstück!!
This is the best place to stay in galle and feels like your at home and very nice breakfast and specially there coffe shop is excellent with freshly baked bread and pastries at the hotel. Highly recommend this place. Great Staff.
Tranquil gardens, close to beach & restaurants. ”
5 mins stroll to the beach & lots of restaurants Tranquil gardens. Loved the veranda for a beer in the evening. Not my usual choice but loved the fact that it was a fairly open wooden hut close to nature Enjoyed following the local monitor lizard around the garden to watch him dig for ants. Breakfast was basic. Bread & croissants. I mentioned that I don’t eat bread but noting else was offered. I ate breakfast later but it is cheap enough so I didn’t mind not having the breakfast. Great location, basic but quaint, lovely gardens, boring breakfast.
breakfast was divine ”
it was a nice and cozy place, I have to say that the breakfast was absolutely divine with the on-site bakery that they have. best croissants this side of Paris
Great place and comfortable. ”
No complimentary water provided and different vegetarian options for breakfast should be provided. Only bread does not suffice. However, the place is clean and staff is helpful and nice.
The staffs are so kind and lovely!
travelled with my wife and her Mum. Great accommodation (2 rooms); great location (short walk to the beach); great breakfast (and great french coffee shop). Will stay again!
A magical place. Came for three nights, stayed for fourteen
Best place to accommodate in Unawatuna !!!”
The location is perfect, just 3-4 min walk to Unawatuna beach! The garden is where you can spend quiet evenings! Very much vegetation, French style breakfast is extraordinary! I recommend you if you are staying here or in the area to taste the prepared cakes! If the roads will bring me back to Unawatuna I will definitely return to this hotel with love!
Amazing little cabanas with beautiful surroundings”
We stayed in one of the cabana rooms which was lovely, the bed was comfy and the patio/balcony area looked out over the grounds which has lots of hammocks to relax in. The breakfast was really nice, lovely croissants! Be sure to bring mosquito repellent with you as there are a lot of them! Our only criticism is the shower - it could have just been our cabana but the design of the shower meant that you couldn't comfortably shower, its too close in the corner of the wall so you have trouble washing your hair and just generally showering!
Beautiful, calm place”
Loved that place. Beautiful garden, beautiful people, clean rooms. Good bakery with it Made me even except the mosquitos in the garden :) Def recommend this place yo stay. Calm but in the center and 3min walk to the beach
A bit too 'outdoor' ”
Breakfast was good. We stayed in a garden hut type of room which was a bit rough. Fan didn't work correctly and shower was v weak. Great location in a great little town.
Nice place ”
Enjoyed my stay here gardens are lovely and plenty of hammocks around. Staff are really helpful and friendly. Breakfast is superb. Cabanas basic but comfortable.
Lovely hotel close to the beach”
The hotel was a short 5 minute walk from the beach, and had a lovely garden. Breakfast was delicious and we really enjoyed our 2 night stay here.
