Never fails me !!!”
Again I'm a return customer or guest. Just got back from the El-Clasico match in Spain with two of my friends and staying in a Triple rooms this time at Kensington Rooms Hotel. Room is big. Toilet is huge. Pleasant stay again. No complaints. Superb !!
This was my second stay in a week after I travel to other parts of Europe and in fact I'm in Spai. Now and will be back to Kensington Rooms Hotel again in 2 more days. The stay was superb. I remember my first night here was 10 days ago and I got a FREE upgrade to accommodate my young kid with an extra bed. They even provide me with a pack of Apple juice when we checked out the next morning. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Location of the hotel is just a stone throw away from the Gloucester Road Underground/Subway. Value for money for sure
Fabulous !!! Magnificent !!”
I had one night stay with a kid and 3 of us were grateful when the woman in the reception who did an upgrade for us without any request. The staff in this hotel is super friendly and definitely above my expectation. The location of this hotel is just a mere 3 minutes walk from Gloucester Road underground. Direct access from Heathrow airport by Underground. I'm now in France and later Italy and will be going back to The Kensington Rooms hotel again on 18th March for few more nights before heading back to Kuala Lumpur. Highly recommended for those prefer to stay close to London City
Cheapest hotel availible and still too expensive”
Without booking way ahead of time, it was difficult to find a decent priced hotel. This was the cheapest availible in an acceptable location. The tube was about 5 minutes away and connected well to the city center. National history museum and other sights where in walking distance which was very convinient. But the hotel room itself was tiny, windows where clunky, it wasn't too clean. Staff was not friendly and only reluctantly helpful. I recommend this only as a last resort.
Very old, run down, overrated hotel. ”
The hotel is ok located about 5 min walk from metro stop. A large supermarket and restaurants are close. The hotel condition is very poor: dirty floors all over, the stairs slippery with old filthy floor, water leaking from roof window, the staff unfriendly, wifi not working well at all. After checkin, I go to our room and it was not made. They obviously mixed up the reservations. Got a new key to a smaller room. The bed was so lay through and cricket, my bottle water bottle ran down the bed side. The floor had so many filthy stains, no trash bin, mold all over in the shower, the bathroom was so small could not even sit straight on the toilet, street noise and the old window cannot even close fully, the room phone was defective and placed on a whole in the head board to cover a whole full with trash from previous guests. The staff was also unfriendly and not very responsive. While waiting I realized other guests also had issues like no blow dryer (and also non available in the entire hotel), a angry family with baby checking out asking for their money back cause no baby crib or bed available.
Easy access by public transport , tube or bus”
Friendly staff, tidy room not fancy though, great location for tourists who spend much time out & only need good rest at night. Quite lots of dining outlets nearby... & two supermarkets for your essentials backups
Simple place, no frills.”
Was only there for a night with a friend. Arrived early at 9am when check-in was at 2pm but staff were helpful and we left our bags at the concierge until we came back for the room at 10pm. A local supermarket is located nearby. Twin room was cute and comfy. Toilet is a little small, can hardly move, and no space to change in the shower otherwise its clean.
SMALL ROOMS in GOOD LOCATION”
disappointed because there is no AC in every room, but they gave us fan as we asked for it. Unfortunately I couldn't stand fan, caused me headache the next morning. So we just adapt to sleep without AC for 11 nights. Because the location is close to downtown and there is np AC, so we open the window everytime, and sometimes can be very noisy. The linen is not changed everyday, but they clean our room and change the towels. Soap and shampoo supplies has to be asked first, otherwise they just give you once. Anyway the soap and shampoo are not the good quality, I just used it to wash lingeries. The TV set is very small (14") in our room (double bed room). Some walls are broken because it is not concrete wall and they don't use door stopper etc. So you can see holes in the walls here and there. Pillows are very thin.. Tea selection in the breakfast room is quite complete. Breakfast: you will have white bread, wheat bread, croissant (this is very delicious), choco bread, boiled eggs, cheese, pork salami, tomato, cucumber, cereal, milk and juice. Oya plus apples..that's it. If you are a non complainers and just use this hotel to sleep but looking for good location, you'll be okay staying here. Otherwise, find a better hotel, of course more expensive price.
Brilliant and cost effective”
Amazing. Cheap deal as stayed on student budget. clean and tidy and enjoyed the peace and big deluxe room for cheap. Would stay again in a heartbeat. Worth it for sure. The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel was quiet and brilliantly located. The room was spotless throughout and made to feel right at home straight away. Looking for the same deal again to stay again in June.
Most relaxed night in a while”
I had a very good night sleep which I'd been lack of. I came to this hotel to treat myself even if I live and work in London. Everything I needed to relax was there for 1 person. I loved the experience.
very good value hotel ”
I was particularly impressed with the helpfulness of the staff. Aneta is a new manager and really puts customers first. Overall a very welcoming hotel with comfortable rooms and a good location close to Gloucester Rd tube
A very nice hotel with really small rooms.”
I enjoyed my stay in london during the olympics. And going shopping at the Picadilly circus area. But quite frankly, i would rather be outside than stay in my room for a long time as it was very small. I couldn't move around the room. The bathroom was very small as well. I guess it is really just a place to sleep in, nothing more. And i don't think the hotel has any other features. There is no wifi in the room, i had to go to the lobby to be connected to the internet.
Great Location and that's about it”
we stayed there for 4 nights. the first night, our room experienced power short circuit with some fire sparks came out when we switched on our bedside lamp. the whole room was in the dark (blackout) and my daughter was in fear and shocked as she repeatedly asked if the room was going to explode due to the "pop" sound of the power short circuit was so loud. the second night was even worst, the same thing happened again but this time the other two rooms next to us were also effected by the same short circuit caused from the same light located in our room (honestly, i don't know what so called rectification work done from the earlier experienced). the hotel lady staff that came to get the power on was not a technician, let alone train to deal with power failure. she does not even equipped with simple tools such as torch lights and ladder as she mentioned the hotel didn't have ladder and torch lights. my husband had to use his handphone back light to assists her. after half and hour attempted to get the lights back on and failed to do so, we were asked to pack all our belongings (in the dark) and move to the replacement room. they didn't offer assistance to carry our luggage at all despite what happened was not our fault. imagine if the hotel is on fire or power failure, no torch lights?, no ladder? what111....horrible... our replacement room was located on the same floor as the hotel reception. room was ok but it was very cold as the heater was not working well. our bathroom was freezing cold. the closet and bathroom door was not a smart designed at all. i don't feel safe staying there with my family and will never return there again.
great location but small rooms”
i really enjoyed my stay. the front desk staff all were very helpful and friendly! they assisted me in every type of situation, from booking tour tickets, to departing for paris via the eurostar. i plan to stay there again on my next visit.
1st stay room a bit small, second stay room ok”
Well run facility, excellent location with respect to trains, buses, convenience shops, restaurants etc and proximity to London central. Rome service is very good as was breakfast. TV wasn't working and needs upgrading.Staff very obliging and efficient. Comfortable beds, but the first room used was a very small. The lift was a very welcome facility.
Good location and very convenience”
The room is very big than i expected. The condition of the room is very new and clean.
It was way beyond my expectations. My daughter slipped and fell down from the stairs as the staircase was wet and unattended. The room was really small compared to the pictures shown. Also the room my son and daughters stayed in, the bathroom was leaking which made the whole carpet wet. It was a really bad experience.
Dirty, noisy and small room”
I was really disappointed with the hotel condition. When I entered the room. I can hear car noise straightway. The room is small no air conditioning. The bed is so soft it sink when sitting on it. The toilet looks old. Air dryer is not function properly and is dangerous to use. Will definitely remove from my future list.
Very run down hotel”
The room was depressingly small, especially for 2 guests. There was a mold on one of the walls in the room and and in the closet. Staff was helpful, so they moved us to another room which was cleaner, but again very small. I can attach pictures is there is such option.
Museums are good and worth to visit.”
Not clean enough. Did not replace the bed sheet for 5 days. For TV program, just 4 channels are available. So many stairs inside the hotel. After leaving the lift, it took 8-minutes' walk to go to my room. Will NOT come back to this hotel in the future. The location is good, so will try other hotels within this area.
