Amazingly great staying experience from staff's attentive and sincere services; also the clean & comfortable room”
This is my first time staying at Noku Kyoto. Since I check-in at 3pm, the lady at front desk showed her warm welcome to me and conducted the check-in procedure with her friendliness and sincerity. Besides, she did explain some important notes to me in detailed with her patience. I can truly tell that I was experiencing the great services of a 5-star hotel standard since I stepped into Noku Kyoto; the first approach already made me feel impressive. After check-in, my parcel & I were brought to guest room by another front desk lady, she did show me & invite me to enjoy the in-room complimentary snacks and coffee with her warmest hospitality; and also help to place my parcel well inside the room. Besides, the room was spacious with simple but comfortable interior design. In room facilities were sufficient and cater to guest's need. Even I think that it's much better than those luxury ones in premier international hotel brands. Apart from the room, my room plan included the morning breakfast. The guests are entitled to choose Japanese style or Western style breakfast that serving per portion per person. Even it was not in buffet style, the portion of western style breakfast was enough to made you full in the morning. I appreciated the breakfast included freshly made orange juice and vegetables that made it healthy. In a conclusion, I did absolutely enjoy staying at Noku Kyoto. If you would like to have a intensive visit to Kyoto city, you may consider staying here for a relaxation accommodation. Moreover, it's just only 4 metro stations from Kyoto Station; but not that crowd of people/tourists nearby the Kyoto station area, it's much enrich the vacation atmosphere. I would love to stay at Noku again while I come back Kyoto next time.
Loved this place!”
We loved our time at Noku Kyoto. It puts a contemporary twist on traditional Japanese design. The styling is fantastic. The rooms are exceptionally spacious (especially for Japanese Hotels), the decor is stunning and everything is impeccably clean and tidy.It is located directly above a subway stop so getting around is easy - it is not located in a tourist hot spot so you may need to bus or train to get in among the real action if that's what you're after. There are plenty of local eating options that you can walk to and we preferred being slightly out of the chaos. It is only a couple of subway stops from Kyoto station and all the other main attractions. We would stay here again and will be recommending it to any travelling to Kyoto.
Excellent small hotel in Kyoto”
This was our first time we stayed at Noku Kyoto. In all the hotels we stayed in Kyoto we found this hotel to be the best! At face value it's a small hotel but you will find that their staff are very well trained and hospitable and their rooms to be clean and more spacious than the average Japanese hotel room. Also the location is very good - the hotel is next to the subway station and the area is close to the Palace. Overall the service I received worth more than I paid for and I would highly recommend anybody planning to visit Kyoto to stay at this hotel. I definitely will come back here again.
Lovely modern hotel”
My daughter and I had a lovely 3 night stay at the Noku Kyoto. The place is quite new and everything was very clean. It has a modern ikea-like decor which is very refreshing and uncluttered. It is right across the street from the Imperial Garden Park which provided a beautiful, quiet break from the rest of the crowded tourist stops in Kyoto in November. The staff speaks English and were very helpful with directions and recommendations for restaurants. I think the price was a little high for the product but everything in Kyoto was booked for November, so we were lucky to get something last minute. No regrets. We enjoyed our stay.
Excellent hotel for a few days in Kyoto”
My husband and I loved staying at Noku Kyoto. The rooms are modern and clean, not too small, the beds were decent and the concierge and staff very helpful and professional. They helped us make a few dinner reservations during and before our stay. I wish the bathrooms were a bit nicer, as the rest of the hotel is quite lovely but the bathrooms in the rooms feel a bit cheap and boat-like. We stayed in two different rooms during our stay and they were both less nice than expected compared to the quality of the hotel overall. The breakfast that was included was very good for Japan (other hotels had awful western breakfasts) so that was a nice plus as well.
Nice and Cozy room with all the amenities you need plus nice staff”
Noku Hotel Kyoto offers a nice and very cozy room complete with all the amenities that you need. There's a 24/7 Kmart just beside the hotel for any additional things that you need like water, sandwiches, some cigarettes and stuff. This is a very comfortable hotel and you can easily get a taxi anytime thou it also has a subway station just a few steps from the hotel entrance. Free set breakfast is the same everyday with only three choices to select but it taste good. The toilets are high tech you almost wouldn't even touch anything. The room feels large and the view is great. The surrounding smells great too! Me and my family would go back to this hotel again should we decide to go to Kyoto for another holiday. My name is Jojo Azucena from the Philippines and I traveled with my wife and two teenage kids.
Definitely recommendable!”
I stayed at NOKU just one night, but it was enough time to fall in love with the hotel. There is not any point to be disappointed; room was super clean and neat and cozy, the bed was the best one I've ever slept! Every staffs were very kind and tried to help us. I and my gf were so sorry that we had only one night to stay. Next time I go to Kyoto, I'll stay at NOKU :)
Great value and superb service”
The people were really fantastic at the Noku Kyoto. We were helped with restaurant reserverations and tips. Although our preferred room configuration was not available at our time of arrival, they have proactively managed to change our rooms during our stay. One of the best hotels we stayed the last years.
Exceptional”
Loved the room and all the thoughtful amenities. The staff was incredible, always gracious and terrifically helpful. All types of transportation are almost at the doorstep. And it was wonderful to have breakfast included with a choice of western or traditional Japanese cuisine. We would definitely return to the Noku Kyoto!
Very nice”
The Noku hotel is a very nice, clean, modern hotel conveniently located in the center of Kyoto. We stayed in a deluxe twin room that was easily the largest room of the hotels we stayed in while visiting Japan. The included breakfast (courtesy of the staff at checkin) was very good. My one complaint is that I booked the room through Agoda and, when I had to check out early, the staff at the desk told me I needed to call Agoda - after 30 minutes on hold with Agoda, I got someone who told me it was the hotel's decision, so they called the Noku on my behalf, whereupon the staff said they wouldn't forgo my 3rd night's stay. Very, very irritating - they should've just told me they don't allow early checkout.
Excellent hotel ”
Our stay at Noku Kyoto was excellent. The location of hotel was away from central Kyoto but having a train station next door to the hotel was extremely convenient, it was merely only a couple stops away to Kyoto station. The hotel itself is quite new so we enjoyed the benefits of everything new. The room was spacious where the four of us felt comfortable. And the staff was friendly and very accommodating. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay and can not fault a thing about this hotel. Oh just one thing, maybe look into air conditioning in the room.
A wonderful stay”
Beautiful hotel is at once very western feeling (large rooms) and very Japanese (simple Asian design decor). We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Perhaps the best hidden gem of a feature for tourists is that Noku sits DIRECTLY on top of a subway stop. Come up exit 4 from Marutamachi subway station and you are literally 20 feet away from the front door. On this subway line you can be to Kyoto Station in 10 minutes. Perfect for any type of traveler.
Great rooms and friendly staff”
Everything was great and the only complaint I would have is it the fact that not many taxi drivers know the address or this hotel very well so it was a bit difficult explaining the location. Other than that Noku Kyoto was wonderful.
perfect location, sophisticate interior design”
my room was at 5th floor and face to the main road (east side), it was nice that we can see the sunrise every morning, some people said it would be a little bit noise at night (cuz the traffic), it doesn't bother me actually.really enjoy the stay in Noku Kyoto
Brilliant Stay”
Chose Noku for its clean design and good reviews, and definitely wasn't disappointed! The hotel was beautifully and elegantly designed, with the minor details well thought out. The daily breakfast that came with the stay was a very simple menu of Western or Japanese dishes but very well executed. Even the little things like complimentary biscuits that came with the coffee packs in each room were excellent. The concierge staff were also always friendly and happy to help. Definitely the best stay during our trip for a great price that we got on Agoda. A pity we had to change hotels over the weekend as the prices were really high for that weekend.
Exceptional”
I stayed in two hotels in Kyoto- the other one being far more expensive and I much preferred Noku. Bright, modern, comfortable and elegant. I was very pleased. The location is great- right next to subway and bus and the Imperial Garden.
Nice hotel and staffs”
Noku Kyoto is a nice hotel with convenient location. It's staffs are friendly and great. Unfortunately, I can hear the noise from trains, it may be because my room is on the 2nd floor.
Excellent”
Had a great stay at Noku Kyoto. Even though communication was difficult as we speak English, the staff were so kind and helpful and went out of their way to help us.
Great stay”
Had a wonderful stay at the Noku Kyoto, the staff were excellent and couldn't do enough for you. The only minor blemish is breakfast which could be improved otherwise highly recommend.
Good Comfort & Cultural”
Loved this boutique hotel situated next to subway station, across street from Imperial Palace, don't forget to visit the famous State Guest House inside its compound. Hotel is decorated tastefully, room is spacious and comfortable, breakfast is delicious, loved the chestnut cake and coffee in the afternoon. Do not miss the 90 min.Kyoto Neighborhood Tour on Tues and Fri morning guided by Don, a Kyoto native who has lived in Canada and speaks excellent English; he took us through the old neighborhood, pointed out local customs, & their symbolic significance, etc.; we saw an 'old school' tofu maker; an expert Kyoto bamboo craftsperson whose pieces both traditional and modern, were acquired by large Japanese companies for their corporate office; an exquisite doll making company ran by a family which has been making dolls for the Imperial Palace hundreds of years, the matriarch explained in details the importance of doll gifting in Japanese culture... Many good restaurants nearby.
