A Taste of the Old Midst the New”
Nomndeni de la Changuion is situated in the lovely Melville neighborhood afew blocks off the main business street, 7th Ave, Composed of several units situated in and about one of the older houses in the area, it is a well maintained, interesting place, run by a lovely African women, who prepares a hearty breakfast each morning with guests being allowed to select what they please form a moderate menu. The breakfast is tasty, hearty, a grand start to an active day. The rooms are each individually themed, large, each with its own bath. The beds are comfortable There is a gated courtyard for those driving to park their cars. The staff was helpful in arranging guides. The restaurants in the area were some of the better we encountered on our journey throughout SA and that is no mean compliment

Lovely room, very helpful staff, adorable dog”
Only stayed for one night, but the room was lovely (the wifi a little weak in areas, but good at full strength), breakfast was delicious and the staff very helpful in organising taxis and such. There was building work happening while I was staying, but any noise died down in good time. Recommended.

room/service overrated”
location, late check-in time available, staff responsiveness
arrived late and room was not warm. staff justified they forgot, and were very responsive in bringing a small radiator in the room the door handle did not engage properly, therefore the door would not stay shut unless locked with the key. when asked the staff what happens, they just raised the shoulders and said this is how it is. similar situation for the bathroom door, but no key provided for that one the exterior door (wooden) had large cracks and there was a lot of space between the floor and the door. For that space under the door, the staff had some sort of pillows prepared. parking space was very little, having to park one car behind another if there are more than 2-3 cars parking there. This makes the first guests dependent on the late arrivals' schedule, or the late arrivals have to accommodate the early arrivals' schedule. staff was generally responsive to various requests (radiator, food preferences, early check-out)

The welcoming staff, the comfortable room, the good breakfast
We were very lucky to have found this place, a home away from home. Any minor problems were solved quickly and the staff couldn't have been more welcoming.

Comfortable stay in a safe neighbourhood”
Comfortable room, good internet, friendly staff
I had a very comfortable stay, and as the only guest who was there during the period of the time, it was very peaceful. Extensive choice of breakfast which you can get to pick and choose what you want to eat the next day, and cooked according to your wishes (fantastic!) Accessibility is less convenient without a car, as there is no train station nearby and a ride to the city centre by taxi would set you back by about 150 rand one way.

Disappointing.In need of some TLC”
The staff member, who was helpful, friendly and in my opinion this B&B,would be a 2-star without her. To rank this as a 4-star is being very inventive. Good location and quiet.
Other than bed and breakfast, spent most of my time out.

Little bit of France in Johannesburg! - Gorgeous”
Amazing room & bath, fantastic breakfast, wonderful Staff
We staying in 'Sleeping with the Stars' for 4 nights. We were spoilt with the most amazing breakfast (with choices!!) made daily by Lee - it was fabulous, best of our travels!! Our room was a delight, had everything....mini fridge, microwave, tea&coffee making, best of all the gorgeous french tub to soak!!! Very close to town so not too expensive to get taxis etc - best of all Lee can arrange a driver for a reasonable price......so do take that up, worth it! Enjoyed our stay - THANK YOU - and would well recommend to anyone.

A comfortable stay in a clean well maintained B&B ”
Central to Melville restaurants. Well run by an african lady who appeared to do everything. Old colonial theme.
My third stay there and it improves with each visit.

November 2015”
