Easy to find. Quick and easy check in and out. 200 Bhat key deposit. Good size room. Room had refrigerator. Hot water in shower. Bed was a little lumpy for me. 5 minute walk to 7-11. 10 minute walk to Mekong River where markets are. 20 minute walk to Tesco. Due to Covid all bars were closed.

Surprised ”
It would be really good if the hotel supplied soap, or shower gel, there is nothing. It would also be good if they supplied at least a kettle for tea and coffee. Otherwise does the job.

Good for the price ”
Quick and easy check in and out Did not request a deposit. On a street where there’s a lot of small bars. Close to everything you need. Hot water in shower. No soap dish in shower. Small bar fridge. No kettle though. Bed was older should be replaced. Some English tv channels. Some of the lights were burnt out. Couldn’t beat it for the price.

Good Hotel gone bad”
I have stayed at the Nong khai City hotel many many times over the last nine years. I have always felt it was a good value for the money until two years ago. Since then, and now, the Hotel is run down and the owners have done little or no maintenance keep it clean and fresh. They put me in room 107 this weekend. I unpack my bags, and sat on the bed. The bed was not even comfortable to sit on for 1 minute let alone sleep on. The springs we're the only thing you could feel. I packed my bags backup went to the front desk and told her that I could not sleep on that bed and they moved me to room 105. The bed was only a little bit better but I decided to stay. 2 hours later I walked through the lobby, and they put another customer in room 107. 10 minutes later when I came back through the lobby that customer was complaining about the bed in 107. Why on Earth would they put a customer in a room, have them complain, have them change rooms, and then minutes later put another customer in that same room without fixing the problem? The staff was not terrible but not especially helpful and spoke little or no English. The air conditioning in both 105 and 107 was smelly and noisy. The bathroom grout was moldy and drains were very slow. Two bottles of water, one small bar of soap, one small bottle of cheap shampoo and a half a roll of toilet paper we're the only amenities I was given for 2 nights I stayed. There are far better hotels on the same street as this one, with much better service, much nicer rooms, comfortable beds and friendly helpful staff and the same great location. Unfortunately I must say goodbye to the Nong khai City Hotel until they make some serious changes in the facility.

Good value hotel near bus terminal”
Stayed in a standard room. Was pleasantly surprised by the large room and good sized bathroom. Shower had strong flow of hot water. Room was comfortable with a fridge and the included wifi has fast download speed. Slept well. Originally intending only to stay one night but extended my stay by another night. Hotel staff can help with scooter rental. They printed a map to help me find my way to the Nong Khai Aquarium. Dee Dee Pohchanah (Thai food) and Mariam (Indian food) restaurants, both recommended in lonely planet are within 200 metres. The bus terminal is about 700 metres away (10 mins walk) along the main street. Attached to the hotel building is a massage parlour offering Thai massage. Just opposite the hotel are some cafes/bars and laundry/tailoring shop. Nearest 7-eleven is about 200 metres towards the bus terminal. Will highly recommended Nongkhai City hotel if you are looking for a nice, modern and comfortable room at affordable price.

Small hotel but clean”
Nongkhai City Hotel is quite small but it is new which openned in last year. So that the hotel is clean. However, it does not full of facilities such as no electric hair dryer and tissue paper in the toilet. In overall, the hotel is very good for this price.

Good spot... Aussie owned pub next door.”
Big room, plenty of space. Bed is large and comfortable. Good bathroom. Bring your own toilet paper as it is not supplied. If you ask you will get it (grudgingly) but will be advised you should use the bum gun. The 'breakfast' is coffee and biscuits in the lobby - but you won't be told about it. It is on the table near the door to the carpark (under the TV). We recommend Macky's for breakfast (near the river) & MAI'S RESTAURANT across the road from the hotel for dinner. The food is great and the prices good at both (also both have free wifi). The only problem we had in getting to the hotel was the driver wanting to take us elsewhere. Be sure to specify it is the Nong Khai CITY Hotel, not the Nong Khai SIRI Guesthouse. The Friendship Bridge is not worth the trouble and expense of getting unless you are crossing to Laos. It is nothing special as a tourist thing. Sala Keoku is worth the trip, it is about 15-20 minutes tuk-tuk ride from the riverside market. You are looking at 60-90 minutes to check the place out. The driver should wait if you pay about 200b for the return trip. This is one of the very few places I have found that does not have dual pricing. 20B for adults (July 2016) regardless of nationality. 200b security deposit. We would use this hotel again.

Nice and clean hotel. Right by the city central.”
The hotel locates at the center of the city. Nongkhai is a small town makes it very easy to travel to anywhere. The hotel itself is very clean. There is no food service in the hotel but you can find good places close by, and the hotel is happy to order them to your room. Great value for the price.

Wonderfully great hotel!”
this is a new hotel. the rooms are perfect and the beds large and comfy. the sheets and linens are clean as are the bathrooms. there is great wifi in the rooms and the tv has many channels in lots of languages. there is a 7/11 around the corner. a number of bars right across the street. nice food places to pick from and the hotel rents scooter ( bht daily) as well as cars and vans (with drivers i think only). but all in all a perfect place to stay when in nong khai whether for exploring the city or just doing the usual visa run to laos!

Very friendly and convenient”
We arrived at 10am, hoping to store our bags for the day before the afternoon check-in time. To our delight they were able to arrange for us to have our rooms early, so we could put our bags away and freshen up before going out for the day. The hotel is clean and tidy and very reasonably priced. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The "swimming pool" you see in the photos is not for swimming. It's just a decorative feature at the entrance to the hotel.
