Bridge over to cuddled daughter”
Just booked in case didnt make it across the border before the checkpoint closed on 22nd March. Fortunately did and tomorrow after 14 days quarantine i get to cuddle my daughter and son. However the rooms look amazing and exceptional value at around 11GBP Facilities include a spa. Next time i can cross the friendship bridge I'll certainly try to actually stay here and enjoy the centre and surrounding Nong Kai.

Don’t be fooled by the lobby”
Upon checking in the reception employees were pleasant and I was informed my room was upgraded. The lobby is elegant and clean but upon entering the bungalow a musty smell was very evident. There is mold along the ceiling in the living area and on the grout of the shower tiles and the top of the wall locker is covered in dust. During these times, cleanliness is more important than ever. The bed was unbearably hard (and I like a hard mattress) and my (Thai) guest immediately mentioned that it was very uncomfortable. The Room only contained 2 bath towels without any hand towels or wash cloths. The only roll of toilet paper wasn’t in the bathroom but was next to the television. The shower was handheld, not a rain shower as listed. The furniture is banged, scratched and worn and the mirror near the tv has residue from old decals. The room just looks old…and not in a nice antique way but like an old dorm room way. Room service wasn’t accomplished on one day even with the placard hung on the door all day, which required an evening trip to the lobby requesting bottled water and toilet paper. This is the 6th hotel I’ve stayed at in Thailand and its the only hotel I’ve ever, anywhere in the world, given negative feedback to. I don’t know what the other rooms are like, but this room needs a cleaning, new mattress and cosmetic upgrade. The grounds around the bungalows were nicely planted and provided a lot of shade that offers a secluded feeling. After 3 nights I extended my stay in Nong Khai but not at the Nongkhai Tavilla hotel, instead I chose to relocate to somewhere different.

Acceptable”
We booked 2 family rooms for 2 nights for 3 adults and 1 kid. As we entered the room, mosquitoes welcomed us. Called the receptionist to informed them and they said they will send someone to spray insecticide. Nobody comes. I have to look for someone and tell them AGAIN. Next day, they gave us 2 breakfast box, one each room for 4 people. 🤦♀️ On our last day, they gave 1 porridge and told us it was a leftover from other guest. 🤦♀️🤦♀️

I totally disrecommend this hotel. Even though it was enlisted as a sha+, basic things like soap, shampoo were not provided in my room. Fortunately I received towels after asking. Besides, broken chairs, shower and untidy furniture, most of staff does not speak English. They take advantage during covid to overcharge guests providing very low service.

ideal for visa run to laos”
There are two hotels in Nong Khai, the Nongkhai Hotel and Resort and the Nongk Khai resort both close to the train station. The hotel is part of a parking lot come warehouse and is quite a way from the main city and restaurants, you definately need a car to stay here or use a Tuk Tuk or Taxi to get into the city. The plus point is that if you wish to obtain a visa from the Thai embassy they will organise a car to take you their and back the next day for Thai Baht1,800. There is also a shop adjacent to the hotel if you are there for a visa run, to compare prices. The only problem I found was the electric sockets were worn and needed servicing and it was difficult to use your charger even with a thai adaptor. I stayed in one of the chalets at the rear of the hotel come garage/warehouse which was reasonably comfortable. The lady at reception called "Mon" speaks very good English.

For some reason, I would stay here again”
I chose the hotel based on how close it was to the Friendship Bridge. It also ended up being almost right next to a night market where I ate some great food and purchased very inexpensive but nice pants! That has nothing to do with the hotel though... I arrived at the hotel to find a friendly front desk worker who spoke almost no English and seemed ill-equipped to check me in and give me a room. Found out through my limited Thai she had only been working there 2 days. Everything was figured out eventually. I still consider the staff to be helpful but perhaps not well managed. Just prepared to have some patience. Room condition was okay. A few mosquitoes and a leaky pipe in the bathroom that sprayed water are the only negatives. Oh, and watch out for the water pressure in the shower, or you may get a surprise. Since water pressure can be an issue, one could view that as a positive. Wi-Fi speed and strength was good. Breakfast wasn't outstanding but certainly adequate. It surpassed my expectations at least, although I didn't expect much based on reviews I read. I can't really give a great reason why, but I would stay here again.

It's very nice”
Near nong khai train station, about 10minutes walk, the manager speaks English, nice old guy helped me changed into a bigger room because I'm eight months pregnant, my bf and I really enjoyed the stay. The night market is next to the hotel, 7-11 very nearby.

Convenient, yet quiet location.”
The bungalows and gardens are well planned. It is hard to believe the main road is so close. The gentlemen who looked after us and sorted all our problems, was great. We enjoyed our stay very much and will definitely recommend the hotel to our friends.

Beautiful Hotel and Near Vientiane”
1) Good Location to put a night before heading to Vientiane 2) Beautiful Hotel, but lots of Mosquitoes (may due to the nearby Mekong River or trees) 3) Free Wifi 4) Inclusive of Breakfast 5) Comfortable Rooms in Bungalow 6) Reasonable 7) Majority of the staff can't speak English, I have to use google translate to explain what I need. Fortunately, the wifi works well

Basic but that is what I expected”
Despite Agoda ringing me and saying the hotel was full, some confusion as I had already checked in!! The hotel was as I expected cheap and cheerful. The only letdown was the breakfast, not the food, it was just all cold. Even cold fried eggs. However overall very satisfied.

There is potential if issues are addressed”
This hotel needs to be managed well. I like the bungalow and will return if we are not going to encounter the issues. 1) we had to ask for soap, shampoo, tissue and complimentary water 2) tv not working, was fixed and broken again 3) fix the toilet door 4. Shower could not be fixed on the wall. 5. Assign a receptionist who can speak or understand English. The hotel has plenty of potential and currently being renovated.

Nice bungalows and excellent service”
located near the thai-lao border in nong khai. nice spot with 50 some bungalows, new and clean with facilities. no swimming pool (yet). large garage for people who leave their vehicule to go into laos (organizes also accompanied tours). good restaurant, no menu in english but khun som the daughter speaks fluently english and is very helpful. nong khai,at 3 km, has very nice promenade along the mekong with many good restaurants. a good place to stay 1 or several nights on the way to or from the friendship bridge to laos.

One time only”
We had to change room 3 times in order to find one with working air con. There was a jacuzzi in every room we saw, but none of them seemed finished. Did not try them. Food from the room service was good, but the menu was only in thai. One time we got it in half an hour. One time it took an hour and a half. One time it didn't come at all. Breakfast was two types of thai rice dishes. Not very tasty (at least to a farang). Two fried eggs and two hotdogs cut in half cost 120 baht extra. The rooms were clean. This hotel is close to the bridge but far from the city. You need a vehicle to get around. They have a large parking facility, so you can get your car under a roof. Tuktuk drivers ask for 80 baht to take you to the city, baht for getting back to the hotel. There is a 7\11 and some street kitchens within a hundred meters.
