Nopparat Thara hotels & places to stay

We decided to stay here for one night before going to a different resort (which is a boat ride away). We arrived at the hotel around 9pm and easily checked-in. The staff also made it easy for us to book an island tour and make arrangements for transportation to our next destination during this time. When we got to our room, we were pleasantly surprised by how big and clean it is. The bed is huge! The next day, we went to our island tour and they let us leave our luggage there. When we got back around 3pm, the staff member realized we might miss our boat ride to the resort, so they personally drove us to the Nopparat Thara Pier so that we wouldn't be late. If I ever get a chance to come back to Krabi, I'd definitely stay at this hotel. The only bad thing is the mosquitoes on the island, so bring repellant. Other than that, they gave us 5-star level service.

Great hotel. We were very satisfied, exactly as described and you pay very much attention to the cleanliness! Second stay is booked! A hint: Maybe in the season a bit exaggerated pricing policy. I would not pay 300 euro per night. And a nonsense: no taxi service from the hotel to airport. Ridiculous for a 5 star hotel and the customers have to pay extra 800 baht for this.

I really have nothing to say, that left me with bad impression about this pool villas. We are a family of five. It is always hard to find any hotels or resorts that fits each of my kids needs (they are 12, 9 and 2 1/5). We found Alisea Pool Villas with 3 bedrooms sorted out for us. We were trying to getaway from Five stars resorts or hotel chains where you may find level of genuine assistance is over the top. This villa made us feel like home but better ! You just don’t need to make meals for yourself and kids and someone come and tidy up your rooms everyday (of course this is for those who has like minded!). We basically jumped in our own pool even before breakfast. Each proximity is next to each other but you merely noticed your guests next door. All staffs are absolutely professionals and friendly . They helped you beyond your needs. I could not recommend more for this pool villa.

this hotel is large, spacious and great for families. first warning, though, this hotel is located on the nopparat thara beach, which is adjacent to the main ao nang beach. the ao nang beach is where the bulk of the restaurants, stores and other services are. to get to the aquamarine hotel from central ao nang, or vice versa is at least a 20-30 minute walk. the hotel is located along a secluded sideroad, so walking at night means you'll be walking without much light for 5 minutes beside a car road with a few sharp turns (just be careful). tuk-tuk rides are per person to ao nang, and per person back. if you don't mind the distance, this is really a great resort with all the proper features such as strong ac, large tv, dvd player (upon request), great pool. the staff provide low-key service (they're not always manning their stations, but they're around). it's a good place to come home to after a long day doing other activities.

Opened in January 2015, this villa property has only 6 rooms/villas. They are all 2 bed rooms, but if you book as a one bedroom, they lock one room. There is also one larger villa that we did not see, that can accommodate 7 or 8 people. The management is family. Breakfast is cooked by the owner and delivered to your villa. The evening receptionist is the owner’s nephew’s girl friend. As this is a relatively new place, your GPS will not know where it is, and the locals do not know where it is either, but Google maps knows where it is and that is how we got there in our hire car. They do have a mini bus for airport transfers and a shuttle service to Ao Nang and other places. Well designed and built. Excellent Wi-Fi with good speed to the outside world. Lots of power sockets. There is free tea & coffee (make yourself) with a fridge with only a small mark-up over Tesco’s for Coke etc. Two bottles of free water each day. There are also all the things needed for you to cook yourself in the kitchen area. Large bathroom and shower. Just the water pressure, if you want hot shower, is lacking somewhat. Great bed and sound sleep. Plenty of cupboard space. The pool is big enough, 1.7m at one end, 1.4m at the other, and a 0.6m Jacuzzi area too. Come out of your villa, 3 steps and you are at the ladder to get in the pool. It is about 1Km to a main road where there is a 7-11 and several local eating places. This is a Muslim area so some server Halal food. But you are paying locals prices, not tourist prices. It is about 3Km to more touristy areas for a bigger variety of options. Open less than a year, they are still learning, but open to suggestion. In October we paid around 2000THB per night. We think a good deal. But we may skip the breakfast the next time we stay there, which we will.

We traveled two months with our little daughter around Thailand. This was the best hotel we had, the staff was amazing. Really friendly they love kids and we get a lot of present during our stay over Christmas and new year. Most of them were for our daughter :) that was really nice and we didn’t expected that. The hotel is a little bit far away from the beach, but the ao nang beach is not so nice and a little bit crowded. But you need a scooter, you can rent them for 250 bht per day at the hotel. I think you get a discount for more days or you call another scooter rental in ao nang, they also deliver the scooter to your hotel. The restaurant is really delicious. It costs a little bit more (40 bht per meal) then the two other restaurants on the street(a recommendation the second restaurant down the street to ao nang / small one on the river). If you need to organize thinks like cleaning your room talk to the reception the staff there speaks English the rest of the staff not so well. The pool was perfect you have a lot sun beds and umbrellas there and the temperature is ideal for a short refresh. We really recommend this hotel, it is quite, calm, nice, well maintained and peaceful place.

We read all the praises (and that I fully agree with afterwards), but still were hesitating about the location: bit far from the town. Now afterwards, I think this was one of the good sides. Because of the free rides to the nearby beaches, we ended up eating in different places each night: and found some really nice ones in Klong Mueng beach. Had we stayed in Ao Nang hotel, we would not have gone so far just for dinner. Also the setting in the villa itself is so wonderful: privacy, great pool, view to the jungle/rock with night lightning etc, so it was wonderfull just to hang out there for half a day before heading to town. We also enjoyed the level of details in decorations, cold drinks and water that was available. Also the services we bought (in-house massage, boat trip) were well organised. We were an extended family of 6 adults and 4 kids. The larger villa was perfect for us: proper rooms and beds for all and some common space for the kids to spend some time together.

Sunda Resort, a beautiful resort where a lots of review says it was like jungle, to me it like garden that makes us felt closer to the nature. I would recommend this resort to the tourist around Ao-nang area base on several reasons. 1. The Services provided. There are bunch of lovely yet super friendly workers. They work happily, helpfully and most importantly peacefully with every visitors. These made us feel comfortable like we are at home. 2. The Language. The worker here are quite fluent with English language. This is very useful when we request for help. 3. Free wifi, free shutter transportation. Nowadays we all get busy with the online life. These happened especially after we had the brilliant tour in the morning. We all like to share our pictures on the social net. So this is a plus point for us during the period we stayed. As for the free shutter, we just need to tell the helpdesk about the time we wan to go to aonang town. Just within 10 to 15 minutes, we will reach the destination. I not sure about other resorts, but this resort's friendly driver will fetch u to any place u want within the aonang area. For example, sometime i asked him to fetch us to Burger king area, sometimes to MCD area, sometimes to the Nopparat Thara Beach, they all say "ok" peacefully. Next time if i got chance to come Krabi again, i will stay here too :)

we booked Poonsiri because it was the only 2-bedroom in the area at a decent price. it is a nice and quiet place. very relaxing. it is far from the beach or anything else. you can't walk to the beach or any restaurants. we rented a car for the week to get around. they also have frequent shuttles on their own baht bus. probably not good in the rain. the restaurant was average, breakfast was a bit sparse. the days in Ao Nang are action packed tho, so you don't need a 5-star restaurant. i would rate this resort 4-stars. the service was up-to-par and the rooms were excellent. 3-stars is a bit too low.

I have no idea why anyone would hire a staff like that. No one speaks english and were not willing to help in any way. The rooms were dirty and full of mold. Breakfast was old and gave our group some sort of foodpoisoning. Im dissapointed in myself that i didnt do my research of this place before making the booking. I dont recommend this place to anyone and i dont understand how they even stay in business. The mocca frappes were good though.

My stay here was an awesome one, having the pool just infront of us. There are 4 of us with our local friend in krabi, the best is that the have a complete kitchen, and we are able to cook and eat together at the dinning table. very good for big family who want to have bonding session without having to have room separated. there are dvds provided to watch as a family if there is no more night activity. They provide you a local handphone to call for anything you like, transport, pillow etc. this is because the is no receptions, it is like a house but with hotel feeling. This phone also can be use to call ur local friend or your tour guide. They provide free shuttle to places, but if you required later timing to go home then you have to pay extra for it. The only negative is that one of the room the toilet is separate from the room, therefore if you got 2 couple like myself, the one staying in that room will not feel so great to go out to the toilet, away from the room. Will recommend to those who have big family. There are extra bed too. At least 6 person can stay in the house.

Bad is a long walk to the beach and a little dangerous as you are walking along the main road, cars and motorcycles passing by with dust. But you can always rent a motorcycle yourself with a very low price (THB200 / day). No driving licence needed, but need your passport as "deposit" Breakfast is individually served with 3 selections, all choices are very less carbo and no meat, too much fruits. Do ask the desk staff for their "secret breakfast menu" which consist of local rice and delicious food. You need to order a day in advance with no additional fee charges (if your booking is included breakfast). Staffs are very friendly, they always have a smile and helpful! Place is clean, new and tidy. They clean up very regularly. Room is a little too small, but shower pressure is great! Overall experience with S2 Residence is awesome and will recommanded if you don't mind a little walk to beach and wanted a quiet place to chill∼ Happy traveling and do keep the beach clean. Love the Ocean, Love the Earth!

Great staff, great ’private’ beach, great location. Lovely place,  basic although comfortable bungalows, great staff, long White beach, good food. If you Either want to have a clue of what was like thailand in the eighties, or are just travelling with kids, J2B is the right place. Huge land right on the beach, basic ( not really à 3 star H, rather à GHouse) but comfortable bungalows, Nong and her family will do their very best to make your stay unforgetable. Extended my stay to one week

We stayed at the hotel in June and found this small hotel very lovely. There are only 6-7 bungalows. The room is very cozy, decorated in wood and it is located in a very quiet area. Very good for sunbathing, reading and enjoy a peaceful day. However, we had difficulty finding hotel when we arrived since there wasn't enough signage. We ended up having to call Agoda to connect to the hotel and they sent someone to fedge us at the main road. For those we want to go there, plesae take note the hotel is located in Nopparat-Tara Soi 9. This will be easier for taxi driver or for you to ask the local of whereabout. The breakfast is pretty basic, only eggs, sausage, toast but we are fine with. Reception is very friendly and helpful. Shower is good as they really got strong water pressure.

Baan Ping Tara was the highlight of our trip. The owners took such care of every detail and question we had..very personal and friendly care. They booked our elephant trekking tour and kayaking - both were great! The villa is totally private and just like the pictures. It is very new, modern and clean. We were driven for free into Klong Muang but could have also gone to a few other beaches. We ordered dinner at the villa and it was delicious; served beside the pool and more than we could eat! A villa for 3-4 people turns out to be good value; less than a similarly decorated hotel and we had our own pool and kitchen.

We were positively surprised about how modern and well-organized the hotel was even though we already had quite high expectations. Our room was big, bed quite comfortable, AC worked well, bathroom was tidy and we had a nice balcony. Also wifi worked well. The hotel provided us with two small bottles of water everyday and even free breakfast which we didn't expect to get. Breakfast included coffee, tea, toast with marmelade and/or butter and fresh fruits - perfect start for the day especially if you enjoy it outside! Along many other services Kiss Hometel offered us the option to get our laundries washed, tuk tuk to the beach, possibility to rent a scooter or a bike for fair price and helped us booking excursions. The location is not as bad as some claim. The Nopparat Thara beach and the pier are quick and easy to reach by foot and on a way there you pass some nice street food restaurants and a Family Mart which is open 24/7. Often we even walked to the other end of Ao Nang beach and back and it was not a big a deal. The best thing when staying in Kiss Hometel was definitely the friendly and caring staff! This place is managed by a Muslim family. All the staffs are Muslims. The place is very nice calm, quiet and relaxing. The guests privacy is much guarded. It is very good for family. There is a small swimming pool, even though never tried, it looks clean and nice. Convenient store and food outlets are within reaching distance. Further can also rent motocycle from them for 200TBH per 24hrs (Some rental sites are charging 250TBH) The staff are friendly and their breakfast is nice. The best part is if you are still hungry, they will prepare more for you for "FREE". Thanks to the caretaker who takes good care on my breakfast. The place is very safe for kids and family. I like the elderly ladies who are doing housekeeping. They are really active. I feel like at home. The best part is early morning, sitting at the balcony with hot coffee and listening to the noisy birds, looking at jumping squirrels and quarreling strokes. Of course at night the buzzing beetles and croaking frogs.

For me, overall is Great! Good: The room is clean and comfortable. The location is bit far from city, but it is very nearby the beach. We took island hopping tour for two days, both days also depart from Nopparat Thara beach, which just 2 minutes driving from hotel. Krabi Nemo House also provide tuk-tuk service to send u to nearby spots. Other than that, they also provide motorbike renting, airport transfer and reasonable price tour. Advise: U may contact the hotel to arrange your needs and tour earlier. As they may reply ur message late. And some of the staff there cannot speak Thai, so maybe they cannot help u on d spot. Bad: There were some Millipede and Mosquito at night. Well, it did not affect us because the mosquito never bite us (maybe is male mosquito?)

We really enjoyed our stay here. The owner is very friendly and careful you can always have a small talk with him. I think it was the best our breakfast in Thailand, that we had in this hotel - Cocco House breakfasts! The huge portion of local fruits with yogurt and muesli and the fresh juice were really tasty :) Also we enjoyed the bicycles that were for free to use. Even the local asked how much we had paid for the bikes :) What is more you can get as much coccos as you want for free in this place, which is really nice;) The house was clean and nice, especially at night when the light in the trees are switched on.

Old time backpackers will like PAN – rooms are beach bungalows mk2, the more durable/comfortable type which replaced the first bamboo jobs. Price is right too – most bungalows of this type in the Andaman are at least 30% dearer. They should approve of the position too - PAN is located on Hat Ton Son beach (the western extension of Hat Nopparat ACROSS THE OTHER SIDE of the small river from the main Nopparat beach), which is the least developed, most laid back on the Krabi coast. This has nice sand, ok swimming above half tide and a good outlook towards the offshore islands, but does suffer the low tide blues. Other reviews have talked of isolation without a vehicle – but the cheap way to Ao Nang is to walk the beach to the klong (15 minutes – PAN is near the far western end of this beach), hail one of the longtail boats to take you across for 50baht (less than $2), walk the short distance to the main road and catch one of the frequently passing Krabi town to Ao Nang songthaew taxi buses for the 3km into Ao Nang (20b). Or walk this last step on the winding path under the trees in back of Nopparat beach in around 40 minutes. Thais seemed to approve of this place too – the weekend saw most of the vacant bungalows taken by Thai families – always an indication of value and good food. Holidaying Thais tend to be good neighbors. My bungalow was just big enough for two + gear, was clean, had a firm but comfy queen sized bed, good insect screens on the windows but no net, quiet fan, lots of internal lines and clothes hangers, and okay bathroom with bucket flush western toilet, a nice veranda with hammock. It was very quiet at night with no traffic or long tail boat noise. The sea view restaurant served nice food. Pricing was scattered – western seemed cheaper than average budget bungalows, some Thai cheaper, some higher. Small Chang beers at 50baht were the cheapest of a dozen similar restaurants all trip. Staff was friendly and obliging with Pan herself having good English.

The hotel is very near to nopparat thara beach (5mins walk,but not recommended to walk at night as the place is dark and quiet) and near to speed boat harbour. The room and hotel itself is very clean and beautiful. Also near to family mart where u can stopby before heading back to the hotel room. There's muslim stall next to the family mart, very convenient to get halal food! The owner,hamid, was also nice and helpful in everything! He provided us free tuk-tuk service to the beach (ao-nang and nopparat thara) and free extra bed! You can find night market with delish foods along nopparat beach on weekends. Me and my friends walk to aonang beach in 15mins,it wasn't that far actually, especially when there's plenty of stalls to look around. We went there on new year and was very glad that we choose loma place, easy access to the beach and far from noise! Highly recommended and would definitely come here again. The owner is very friendly. They allow us to check in early as we have arrive early. They provide free beverages (coffee, tea, chocolate drink) during breakfast. The room is nicely renovated. They even offer free transport to Ao Nang beach side. If you are someone looking for some peace and away from the busy Aonang street, this might be your choice. Family mart is just opposite the guesthouse. You can take song theow to Krabi Town in front of family mart. Cons: the room do not have hair dryer. The location is very very far from Ao Nang beach by foot. The tuk tuk will charge you THB 100 per way to get back from Ao Nang beach to guesthouse. If you are considering this place due to cheaper price, please rethink as because you haven’t include the transportation cost on tuk tuk everytime you leave the premise. Not much dining option available around the guesthouse.

Excellent stay! We've been in Thailand for two months and this was the most comfortable bed yet. First, make sure to get a room with AC (which did an amazing job). Second, GET BREAKFAST. They partner with this adorable little coffee shop across the parking lot who gives you options of scrambled eggs, french toast, pancakes or yogurt with a drink option. Best breakfast we've had. Hint: get the mango smoothie. We adored the family who owned the hotel as well as the coffee shop. Very warm, welcoming and friendly. The little kids are cute as well. Internet worked well, there was a family mart nearby and a few (not many) places to grab food close. The only challenge was the location. When walking to the beach we found a shortcut through this side road. Not a great option, especially as it was really hot. I highly recommend renting a motor bike, which we rented from the hotel. Either that or chose excursions that pick you up at the hotel.
