"We spent one night at Aria on Bank Motel. It was a small but comfortable place with stylish design. The room was well equipped with a kitchen and a bathroom. Everything looked very new and sparkling clean. The only thing I can complaint is that the mattress was too soft and thin, which is not very good for my back. Otherwise it was a perfect experience here. The lady at the front desk was nice and welcoming. She gave us all the details about Dunedin including dining, parking and location to visit. That was extremely helpful to us. I would highly recommend to stay at this motel."

"The rooms are very spacious and comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful. The bathroom was large however the shower was a bit strange as you had to step up into a corner (difficult to describe in words), this created an issue that you needed two bath mats for the shower, one for the step and one on the floor other wise you are at risk of slipping over. This was rectified as there were plenty of towels provided so as to be able to use one as an extra bath mat. The only detraction was the guest laundry which only had 1 washing machine and one dryer. This made it difficult to get washing done when you are on an extended stay. Overall I would definitely stay there again and recommend it for anyone that needs to be on the North of Dunedin "

"We stayed in one of the cabins, which was next to a stream. The site was compact but didn't feel overcrowded. We were surprised there was no shop there (we were given milk on arrival) but were provided with a map showing nearby supermarkets and restaurants. Dunedin was a 5-10 minute drive away. We especially enjoyed Otago Peninsular and the weekly farmers' market (Saturday mornings next to the railway station)."

"everywhere i usually stay in dunedin was booked out and was therefore "forced" into seeking accommodation with a higher price tag than i usually do. given this, i then expected more than what i usually receive, and i was not at all disappointed. in fact, i would very definitely return again, despite a higher than normal (for me) tariff. speaking of tariff, however, do check very carefully what you are being actually charged against what the motel is offering. i found the agency through which i booked (on line), had misquoted the actual tariff by 50%, so i spent a great deal more than was expected. despite the expense, the motel is absolute value for money, particularly if you get an upstairs spa studio. when i first arrived, the roadside sign announced it as an “econo lodge”. having stayed in many of these while travelling in the united states, the room (which is actually a series of rooms) was very well furnished with a leather lounge suite (all recliners), very stylish table and chairs, mobile television set and queen size bed (amongst other items). adding to the unique atmosphere was a loft bedroom (a first (and wonderful) experience for me). the unit also had a balcony, as well as a separate bathroom and toilet. the bathroom (which is separated from the toilet has an enormous spa bath, from which you can soak and watch television at the same time. now that (for me anyway) is luxury. the guest information booklet is also very informative. there is a 24 hour general supplies shop right across the road, but dunedin’s main shopping centre is a mere 10 minutes’ walk away, where retail outlets and restaurants abound. it may take a great deal longer, therefore, than ten minutes to reach the city centre given the many diversions you are likely to make. "50 points for - large, spacious rooms - excellent shower quality - free laundromat (washer and dryer), with laundry powder provided - friendly service, check in was smooth and we were offered fresh milk - unit and linens were clean - cheap, paid $125 per night per room Minus 5 points for - overall age of unit, furnishings etc are old (but it does remind me of my flatting days as a scarfie in Dunedin) - no lifts so if you have lots of luggage you are going to struggle up the stairs with it."

"Spent two nights at Amross in Dunedin last week on business - first-time stayer. The welcome was warm and friendly, and the unit I had was spacious, clean, modern and very comfortable. The bed was excellent, good selection of pillows (i prefer thinner pillows, but often Motels just have very thick bulky pillows) and the shower had excellent pressure. They also had Netflix as part of the standard offering which added a great selection to the choice of television viewing. I was kindly referred to Buddha Stix just down the road for thai (takeaway or dine-in) - which was superb, and very convenient. Overall an excellent experience and going forward this would be my first choice for future stays in Dunedin."
