This location was super convenient ”

We would definitely stay here again. Gulf side view was great. The room wasn’t fancy but it was clean and the location of the hotel was close to many attractions and shopping. We got breakfast with our hotel reservations which was a great deal. Had shrimp and grits and crab cakes Florentine. The private beach was nice and the sand was fine and soft like freshly fallen snow. Though it was harder to walk in since our feet would sink in with every step. We had a blast in the pool area. The waterfall at the pool was loud but our conversations were private. Down side is that the swim up bar was never opened when we were there. They were doing construction on the third floor but we were on the fifth and out mostly during the day so we weren’t inconvenienced at all. Again, we would love to stay there again!!

A wonderful stay”

This is our 4th time staying at The Island Hotel. The remodel is completely finished and wow! What a fantastic job! Staff is very friendly and always helpful. Everything is clean and well maintained. The grounds are filled with plants and palm trees that continue the feeling of a tropical oasis!!!

Absolutely loved it”

The resort is fabulous. Rooms are super clean and the pools are fantastic. The location being right on the beach was amazing we could relax at the bar or play corn hole. We stayed two separate times actually canceled at a nasty hotel down the road an d are so happy we did. Only two things I would say is th we rooms need places to hangs things like towels and the laundry room needs to be cleaned more often and have better card readers. Other than that we will definitely stay again.

All I can say is, “WOW”!!!”

Such a wonderful place. It’s a resort all on its own. Everything you need at great prices right at the hotel. I am very hard to please. This was more than I expected!!! Only draw back was the check in and out process. The lines are very long at the front desk most of the time. Other than that it is astonishing. Super friendly staff. Main thing I can tell you is pay the extra money to have ocean front view. The main tower is the only rooms that were remodeled and other guest that were unhappy that did not get ocean front

Enjoyable weekend here!!”

We actually loved it here ! We were skeptical because of some of the reviews but we didn’t have one complaint. The staff was super accommodating, even checking us in earlier than scheduled. Our flight got in early so they even let us come and be on the property before checkin and same with after checkout. They let us stay until we needed to leave for airport! The pools were amazing. And beautiful !! Spent most of our time in the heated pool. The room was nice. Simple, but clean and comfy beds! We liked the option to have a soft wristband for a room key also. Couldn’t ask for more for a weekend getaway!!

Great stay! could have been better :/”

The hotel was in a great location. The front desk staff was amazing and knew everything about the area. The hotel is under renovations but we were never inconvenienced. The pool is amazing. The hotel has several activities throughout the day, our favorite was the DJ at the pool. Now the bad stuff. If you have to pay for breakfast go somewhere else. It’s a pretty good breakfast but it’s not worth what they charge. Ours was included in our reservation so we ate it daily. Eggs are fake eggs and very runny. The cleaning staff does a very good job but are very loud. We were woken up several days by cleaning staff talking in the halls. The worst thing, ice machine location. They echo all throughout the hotel when people get ice. Lastly, rooms are nice but whoever is doing there renovations does sketchy work. Our sink wouldn’t hold water because the mirror wouldn’t allow the leaver to pull up. Our shower held water because the pan was put in wrong and it also had no shelves to sit soap on.

The people in the room next to us must have had ten people in the room Isn’t this a fire hazard ? They were noisy and disruptive ! Had initial problem with second floor room and stairs I had asked for first floor room since my husband has knee problems .... didn’t get that until o complained and complained

Wonderful location”

This property is undergoing renovation. Some of the rooms have been updated, some haven't yet. We were told that by early this fall all rooms would be done. With that said, we got an un-updated room. It definitely is in need of a remodel, however, it was okay. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The rest of the property was great. Our kids loved the pool. They have additional activities like Cornhole and putting greens that our kids also enjoyed after spending a day in the car. I love the location!! Right on the beach and a short walk in the sand from a boardwalk with several great restaurant choices. We are looking forward to coming back next summer!

Everything was on site! No need to leave. Great facility for a family vacation.

Family and/or party scene”

Our room could of been cleaner; i.e. they practiced cleaning only the dirty towels off the floor and didn't touch our beds at all; but I guess that's due to COVID-19. Chest drawers had a mildew smell from prior people putting wet clothes in there. I hope other rooms are better. Hotelers were very nice and polite. Demographic was a mix of families and young adults.

Used to love this place, but has went downhill.”

Dirty rooms, dirty floor, black hair on towels, and tub. They got rid of the splash pad. Very expensive almost $1,000 for 3 nights. The breakfast tasted horrible! We are not picky eaters, and couldn’t hardly eat the food.

Great trip”

Everything has been great. Our room was not ready when we arrived but we were given our wristbands so we could check out the property and relax while we waited. The boardwalk is so close its great. We walk over on the beach for dinner. The pools are huge and live music every night by the beach. Will definitely be back.

Room is clean, have all basic need of a solo traveler. Close to local restaurants - few minutes walk. Local beach has event every night: movie night, fireworks night, etc... Good place to stay a few days for resting

Wonderful place! ”

This is a much older hotel but has been Getting some great upgrades and fix ups!! We stayed here prior to the remodel and new brand and now since the rebranding and upgrades. I still love it! Plus it has some of the best bloody Mary’s!!

Excellent”

Courtyard room very small. No closet, gate into room shuts very loudly. Air conditioner doesn't seem to cool correctly. Location is great. Pools are great and very one to beach. Would not stay in the courtyard room again only due to size of room and beds.

Good”

The only good thing I have to say is that the hotel is directly on the beach and its not far to walk from your room to pool to beach. I would not recommend this hotel because I believe it is very much false advertisement. The pictures the website as well as facebook say how the entire hotel has been redone and make it look like this nice hotel when the rooms are still very old and feel more like a motel. The towels had a smell to them, and the room was just ok, would not want to stay there again.

great place prime location”

been coming here for years never had a bad experience. next door to the boardwalk if your looking for food verity. staff is very friendly and helpful. new owners doing lots of renovating for the better. hard to beat if your looking for a place you don't have to leave during your stay.

Loved the overall environment”

The amenities were excellent. My husband loved the on-site dining options. My kids loved the large pool and courtyard space. Overall the rooms were nice and the hospitality staff were great. We will definitely be staying here on our next trip to the Destin area.

Room behind the oceanfront building”

The rooms behind the main building are just like a motel with stairs (glad we only had small luggage) and people walking in and out passing in front of your room. Yes the king bed was comfortable and the sink and shower were new, BUT the towels were not and had black stains. The room has no closet, no hooks, no bars to hang your clothes. No microwave. Only 1 person at check-in also handling guest issues, it took at least 20 minutes standing in line. The beach umbrellas were too close to each other and took all the front area, (I think they were charging $30) we had to go almost in front of the Boardwalk
