Great Place to Stay in Miami!”

The Hotel Intercontinental Miami is a world class hotel in the heart of Miami, FL. Across the water from the Port of Miami, the rooms have a view of Key Biscayne, Virginia Key, Dodge and Fisher Islands, and Biscayne Bay. Next door to the hotel is a large marina and outdoor mall with good restaurants and shops. The American Airlines arena is within walking distance. The bar is very nice, but pricey. The rooms are perfect - large, with new furniture. Bathrooms are huge and have nice amenities. Water pressure and sink drain were both disappointing, but not an issue. We recommend this hotel for anyone looking for an elegant first class hotel in Miami.

Always a Lovely Stay”

This is my second stay at the Miami Intercontinental Downtown, and once again, it was such a great pleasure to stay there. Everyone on the staff is extremely gracious, and goes out of their way to accommodate any requests and be available to guests, often going the extra mile to be of service. My one and only complaint is the daily fee for wireless internet usage in the rooms, which I think, considering the price of the rooms, should be free of charge. Other than that however, I love this hotel and would gladly stay there again.

YOU PAY FOR THE LOCATION”

We stayed at the InterContinental for 4 nights with our two kids, 6 and 1 year old. Usual check in time is after 3pm but if you arrive earlier, you will be served at a first come - first in basis at no extra cost. When you check in at the hotel, you will find out that you have to pay USD 15 for internet, etc + USD 39 for parking per day which adds quite an amount to the bill already not cheap. The check-in was fast and easy. We had booked a 2 kingsize bedroom with city view and landed on the 25th floor with a nice view. The last night we moved to bayview on the 6th floor due to noisy neighbours (after calling the security, they were quiet). The rooms are just big enough for a family of 4, nothing really fancy and I think I expected more for the price. The bathrooms are quite spacious and nice, specially the one on the 25th floor. There is a small Starbucks in the mall of the hotel where we took our breakfasts. The hotel has also 2 restaurants which are quite expensive. The location of the hotel is great, you can walk directly to Bayside where you will find a lot of shops and restaurants which is convenient when you travel with young kids, specially in the evening. There is also a playground close to the hotel. After an 8 min drive you are at the kids museum which is amazing and a good time for the smaller ones after visiting the city. Miami Beach & the Art Deco District are only 15 min by car. When you come back to the hotel, a valet will take care of your car, the staff is very nice. The pool is outside on the 5th floor, it was very windy during our stay and we spent only a few hours but you have a great view. The gym center is also convenient, with machines for cardio and weight lifting. The check-out is also convenient and fast, check for Irina at the receptionist desk, she is really helpful. All in all we enjoyed our stay at the InterConti but would have expected a bit more for the price.

EXCELLENT STAY IN AMAZING HOTEL”

We stayed here for 4 nights and were not disappointed at all. From the moment we checked in the staff looked after us very well and nothing was too much. We were upgraded to a king room on the 28th floor with a magnificent view of the harbour. After seeing other hotels in Miami, we would not have wanted to stay anywhere else. A 5 minute walk to Bayside Market place with many shops, restaurants and places to book tours. The local tram which is free is literally across the road. If we returned to Miami we would not stay anywhere else.

Ideal base before taking a cruise”

My wife and I stayed in this hotel in January 2014 prior to departing on a cruise from Ft. Lauderdale. The staff is very professional and attentive. We were on honeymoon, so they treated us EXTRA NICE. Room was spaceous and nicely furnished with amazing views to the Miami skyline especially the evenings and nights were spectacular from the window. I would stay again in the InterContinetal when next in Miami.

a great hotel”

it is a great hotel located in downtown Miami and it takes a few minutes walk only to Bayside Marketplace. Also the room is large facing the waterfront. The staff are very friendly.

Nice hotel but poor parking facilities”

really nice rooms, beautiful views over downtown Miami, superb breakfast, not too expensive, easy to get to and centrally located. Although centrally located, the direct area is a bit boring (things are much more happening at South Beach). Main "con" is parking though. When we arrived we were told valet parking is the only option (we paid the full day tariff of $34 to park from midnight to 10am!), and when we investigated ourselves there were metered parking spaces just next to the hotel! Metered tariff was about a dollar an hour from 7am till 2am. Biggest problem there was that the meters didn’t allow you to pay the evening before for the next morning so you have to get out early to fill the meter. But worth the $25-30 you save every night! So overall, hotel was nice, but parking was poor, which isn’t something you’d expect for such a car oriented country …

Great for a crowded lobby hotel indeed...”

Will choose another hotel if we're in Miami. This hotel is far from the beach. It took almost half-an-hour in the traffic jam to crossing the bridge to the city center (Lincoln Road, Espanola way, and surrounds). Taxi to the that area is about $25-30/one way. Too far for those looking for shopping areas or beaches.

classy hotel experience”

Our stay at the intercontinental was great. got luxurious atmosphere yet very relaxing. Convenient location for shopping, dining and night out. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Wish we had free access for internet and cart park though.

Good value... Centrally located”

The check in was smooth. The front desk person actually recognised me from her previous place in Intercontinental Bangkok, amazing. Room was large with very comfortable bed. Nice shower.... Great location. Will come back again.

Great Hotel, great location”

Nice Hotel, very clean and professional service that you would expect from a large chain hotel. Great foyer, lots of marble, and a Starbucks. Nice view from the room and good pool deck. Great location, close to everything downtown. Bit far from South Beach, if you want the beaches stay at south Beach, it's about $20 away in a cab.

Thumbs Up!”

We were very happy with this hotel. It was within easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants on the harbor and in a central downtown location. We were on the harbor side and could see the harbor and the cruise terminal and the ship we were boarding the next day. The hotel was immaculate, the staff friendly and helpful. There was a nice pool area on the fifth floor with a bar. We only had minor issues: a long wait to check in and no clear waiting line, just several guests waiting in a group; also, the water pressure in the shower was a little low.

A Beautiful Hotel run by Excellent STAFF !!”

My girls and I loved this Hotel, the staff were very welcoming evenbbefore we arrived !! The exchange via email was always so well received, staff informative and helpful. Juan at front desk gave us a lovely spacious room with a view. Tea and coffee making available in the room. Good location, just a short taxi ride from Hotel to port. The hotel staff will hail you down a taxi and help with luggage if need be...so helpful. Thank you for a wonderful stay ! Hope to stay again in the future. Giulia

Intercontinental a hit!”

Absolutely loved this hotel. Upon check in, I requested a room that would have a view of the cruise pier so that we could see our ship in the morning and also enjoy the water view. I was not sure that they would accomodate my request since I did not book the hotel through them, but rather through Agoda at a significant savings. They responded with a "no problem" attitude and we were viewing the water from the 16th floor of our hotel.

Great view and service”

The hotel room is spacious with great seaview. Front desk manager who is a Dominican is very friendly and the information counter staff are very warm and helpful. Gave us a lot of great tips n coupons! The location is good, nearby the free downtown metro. Free nice crossiont and coffee in the morning, However, front desk staff are not so friendly when we doing check in and check out. Gave us one word answer for our questions. Also, they actually want to charge us delivery charge for asking for hot water to our room, first experience whereby room service comes with delivery charge!

WMC 2009”

The hotel was very nice and pretty. It was walking distance from Ultra Music Festival (the reason for our stay). The staff is very nice, and the hotel seemed to be in excellent conditions. We ordered room services a couple of times, and while the food was delicious, it is costly. I really have no complaints regarding the hotel, and I would stay there again.

Decent Hotel, Great View”

Just stayed at the hotel over night before leaving on a cruise in the morning. My girlfriend and I woke up to a lovely view, though, as we got our stuff together to check out. Also, the service was great, with the staff quickly and courteously locating some toiletries we forgot to pack. We wish that we could have gotten more acquainted with the amenities, but our stay was short. Once thing to point out, though, two bottles of water from the hotel bar were $12 before tips, a little on the pricey side, even for a hotel bar. Also, the hotel is a cab ride away from any decent food.

Scenery charming hotel”

when you open the window curtain, you will find the very nice scenery in you eyes. The blue sky and blue sea. There are many yachts in the sea. If you wake up earlier morning, you can see sun rising. More, you can see the sunset. Very nice scenery hotel in good position closed to the sea.

A good experience”

This hotel provides very reasonable and ideally located acommodation. i would definitely recommend this hotel.
