Excellent location in the heart of Waikiki”

This was not our first stay at the Hyatt Regency. The hotel is beautiful in an excellent location to enjoy all the key sites in Waikiki. The room was very large and comfortable. There was some road construction right outside the hotel that made for some unwanted noise if your room was on that side of the hotel, which ours was. Other than that, we loved our time there.

Awesome shopping gettaway in the heart of Waikiki”

what can i say, but hyatt regency is stunning and perfect for those that want access to all the prestige and luxury that comes with shopping in waikiki. the beach is just a hop accross the street, then from there everything is at your doorstep. late at night there is always action on the strip below and can always find good cheap food and drink (outside of the hotel). staff were friendly, accomodating and always happy to help. overall i will definately return to hyatt regency in future trips to hawaii.

One of Waikiki's Best”

This was our first stay in the Hyatt Regency, but what a lovely and pleasant experience. I have lived on Oahu on and off for about 28 years and have stayed at other hotels in Waikiki. This tops the list for me. An excellent place to enjoy the beauty of Hawaii.

A break in paradise”

Having stayed at Hyatt Regency, I would recommend it as its location is great, being in the middle of all the action of Kalakalaua, and directly opposite the beach. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Shower system was a little frustrating as it is old and wasn't what I expected with this brand (not a reason to avoid Hotel). Overall ready to book for another trip!

The best location”

I made a reservation for Cityview, but I was assigned a room next to the elevator. He was kind to a request to move the room because he was sensitive. The hotel is old, but the room is good, and the location is the best in Waikiki. However, with the modernization work now, elevator use and noise can be uncomfortable. But I was most satisfied with the Hyatt on this trip.

Honeymoon Ocean View Room”

Our room has the best view of the Waikiki beach and the famous statue. The room was huge. Staff were all so friendly. We got a free bottle of champagne too! Thanks for a wonderful stay! Shout out to Grace from reception. She was very accommodating!

Better options available”

We have stayed in numerous hotels along Waikiki beach, many of them we prefer over the Hyatt. Location is good, but the hotel is dated and needs a refurbishment. Doors to balcony did not seal, meaning that the wind howled and whistled through the room all night - never a good sign when the hotel supplies earplugs in the room. Most of the staff were reasonably good, but Uheina on front desk soured the entire experience with dealing with staff of the hotel - abrupt and curt in each encounter. Will stay elsewhere next time.

Great Service, but Hotel has many issues”

There are a lot of big groups that stay at this hotel, so the checking in process is difficult. We were placed in a room that is undergoing "minor and non-disruptive" renovation, according to the front desk. However, we realized very quickly that there was MAJOR construction going on and the staff who checked us in should not have understated that. We did not come to Waikiki to hear severe drilling all day and night! The bigger nightmare was our attempt to change rooms. It should've been taken care of quickly. However, the front desk took 3 days and repeatedly made mistakes during the process. They asked us to wait until midday - when we would be heading out to enjoy beautiful Hawaii. We did not come to Hawaii to wait in the room for a room switch! When we finally got a room change after 2 days of spending hours sorting out hotel room change logistics, they said they would move our suitcases. When we came back at 1:30am from a night out, our suitcases were missing. It is these repeated mistakes that unfortunately would lead us to not stay here again. Despite the fact that the staff was nice, it was not nice to take our entire 3 days stay to sort out our room situation with repeated error. The hotel should not place people in rooms that are completely not livable - Hawaii became stressful due to this!

Excellent location but a bit busy”

Lines in front desk and elevators may be long Bec it's a huge hotel right smack in the middle of Waikiki. Security a bit lax as anyone can go up to any floor

Great VIEW of the quintessential image of Hawii”

This is a GREAT hotel... Huge... and all of the best high-brand shopping is SO close. The view from the pool bar is wonderful - beach, palm trees, rolling surfing waves and so there is instant entertainment provided. The balcony was a nice addition to the room. Very spacious room, especially compared with other hotel rooms in Europe. The staff were all accomodating, helpful and friendly.

Great location and friendly staff”

Spent a couple of nights here after Pride of America Cruise which was itself a great way to see the islands without unpacking and packing continuously for a week The Hyatt was a great place to relax after the hectic week on the ship

Good location Bad facility”

Location is good.10secind to Waikiki beach.Close to Big/small shopping moll. The escalator ,Diamond Head tower,is inconvenience because it is under construction.Breakfast is so so.I was waited to check in 20min. Staff is friendly.

The hotel needs updating compared to the other hotels around it. The restaurant & bar needs updating”

The bar especially needs staff to know how to make cocktails and then not charge us $ 18 for terrible cocktails served in plastic cups. The Hyatt is the only hotel at the beach that doesn’t provide umbrellas for guests. Over all the hotels has a lot of empty shop spaces. However, the room was clean but unfortunately the aircon is blowing from the side directly on the pillows which asks for catching a stiff neck or cold.

Very good”

The room smelled of Clorox and the Toto toilet seat didn’t work and wasn’t cleaned well. It was still dirty with some type of residue leftover on the seat. Other than that it was a good stay, clean, convenient to go to places in Waikiki and a nice room.

Quite expensive hotel”

Of course there are many expensive hotels in Waikiki but I was not aware of details of fee. If you have a car and want to park the car, there is a building for parking and 1st to 4th floors are reserved for valet and other higher floors are reserved for others. For the self parking, you will have to pay 40 dollars per a day. Regarding cleanliness, most of things were fine but bedding was not replaced, just re-organized. I hope it helps you.

Good resort but beware of the theft”

We stayed there during Japanese Golden Week. We forgot our baby carrier in the room but came back shortly after the check out. Unfortunately, we couldn't go back to the room because new guests has checked in. Different people from the staff went to check the room to find our baby carrier but it had "disappeared". I am deeply shocked and disappointed that this can still exist in such a brand like Hyatt Regency...

Hotel was wonderful except for incorrect address on websight”

The hotel was wonderful, excellent service, beautiful view, spacious room. We arrived from the airport around 8:00 and were very tired, The address listed on the websight and the link to the directions to the hotel were to the wrong location, therefor we drove in circles for about 45 minutes until we called the hotel and were told the correct address.

Very good”

great location to everything. They did not have our booked room so had to stay one night is a lesser room however this was on level 23 the following day moved to our ocean view balcony room to which a high level was requested and got out on level 6. The elevators were terrible and took forever most times. Washing machines and change machines were not all working. Staff were lovely, for the price we paid don’t think it was worth it.

The quote we got online did not include resort fees or inter connecting. This cost us an extra $2000.00aud, which was very dissapointing as we were not told about the additional charges even when we checked in l.
