"Great location, close from city center, everything is walkin..."

A 3-star hotel located on a beautiful green square in the center of Amsterdam, directly behind the Royal Palace on Dam Square, the Nova Hotel is superbly located, affording easy access to many of the city's attractions, and the network of public transport that connects to the rest of the city is easily negotiated, whether tram, bus, or boat. Amsterdam itself is a joy to explore with its unique architecture, thriving cafe culture, and the museums and galleries that seem to be on every corner. The immediate neighborhood is an eclectic mix of bars and restaurants with numerous shopping streets, including Kalverstraat, and the Magna Plaza. Famous throughout Europe for its decadent red-light district, a trip to Amsterdam would not be complete without a visit to this area with its many bars, nightclubs, and cabaret shows.

Great location, friendly hotel ”
I stayed here with friends for 2 nights and had a nice stay. The hotel is in a perfect location for exploring Amsterdam central area with Dam Square just 2 minutes walk away. The communal areas were a little tired and dated but inside the room was perfectly clean and well maintained. We had a room to sleep 3 and it was a decent size to accommodate 3 people. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend.
Good service but too many stairs”
If you have a lot of luggages, be aware that the entrance and every single floor has A LOT OF STAIRS! Luckily the staff on duty was really nice and helped me carry through. Big room, big washroom for single traveler. Super like the design of the room, appreciate that there is USB hub at the bedside table to charge my phone overnight. If I am going to Amsterdam again for short visit (without a lot of luggages), I will choose Nova again!
Good staff, good service. Breakfast is good. Good location.
Paid at hotel was a little more due to tax but was a little maze at first but was nice throughout and was perfect location for shopping, food and coffee shop, breakfast was okay, think it could have had a little more to offer but was a really enjoyable stay, let us put our bags in early storage and kept them there until the evening on our departure. Would happily stay again and recommend
Great for the money”
The room was much bigger than expected, and certainly bigger than others in Amsterdam I have stayed at. The bathroom was a good size, and there was space for a table, desk, and chairs. It was comfy. That said, there were 2 single beds that were small, and separated. I think for the area and location, the hotel was worth it. It was clean too, which I was happy about.
Nice view from terrasse and fine rooms”
Restaurant ok but without any view to the outside. Rooms are fine and the view to the parking lot side is also ok from the small but ok balcony. There is a bit of distance to the town so a car is a must. Unfortunately the pool is not open in October which is considered winter
Lovely hotel which is near Dam square”
The receiptionist is very helpful. The hotel has 3 PC for Internet and also a printer for guest to print info. The rooms are decent in size and toilet is very clean. The breakfast served are sufficient though not much variety. However the staffs are efficient and ensure the food and drinks are replenished. The location is fantatstic as it's near the train station.
i was check in for 7 night in that hotel..hv found the room is one of the spacial if compare the price you paid in Amsterdam center.. location is one of the best..and room is quite ! that is good..! breadfast is excellent for the price you paid..and food market just riht at the corner of the hotel on the right ..3 minit walking.. alot of restourent around walking distance to all flower / fiest market..! No complaint about ti will stay again my next trip..!!
The hotel is very well located, right next to all the shopping area and the night life. The rooms are very big compared with other big cities, and very clean. The bed is very comfortable. The staff is very kind and helpful. The only problem was that I was staying on the ground floor, and it was very noisy, I could hear the music from the lobby and even conversation. The acoustic in the hotel is really not good. But over all had a nice one night stay.
Central, friendly staff and good size room
Let's get thr big one out of the way. Location. It's excellent, just a minutes walk away from Dam square, the streets around it have plenty of coffee shops, pubs, etc. Staff was super friendly. Hotel is quite no frills. What was a sore point was the bathroom. I hate dirty bathrooms and for thr money they were charging, the bathrooms could have been a lot better.
The best location you can be in. Great value for money. Staff is great and very helpful. Rooms are nice. Good brrakfast
Convenient and Renovated”
Recently renovated and very pleasant. Still has steep stairways and squeaky wood floors typical of old Amsterdam buildings. Full-sized bathrooms and lots of power outlets, which one does not always find in European hotels. Rooms comfortably sized but small by American standards. Convenient central location, close to old downtown but in a quiet area. Close to the Palace, Madame Tussaud's, Amsterdam Museum, and downtown shopping district. Reasonable walk from Amsterdam Centrale train station, less than a mile walk from Rijksmuseum and Vondelpark. Half a mile in opposite directions from Anne Frank house and red light district. Lots of nearby restaurants. I recommend the ribs at La Boca next to the palace. I do not recommend using Agoda to book. Good rates available directly from the hotel if you can risk booking last minute.
PRO - good location for shoppers and tram link.the tram line 1, 2 and 5 is right in front of the hotel. shopping district is just a shout away. coffee shops, pattiseries- you are spoilt with choices. the reception is friendly and helpful. NOT SO GOOD - breakfast is more or less the same. light breakfast. room are considered not equivalent to price. considered expensive. the carpet seems not been cleaned for some time.no cupboard. no kettle. no new soap.we had to keep asking for pillows seems pillows been taken away after housekeeping.
Big room and comfortable beds.”
We spent a little more than usual and it was well worth the money with a good sized family room, nice en-suite and large windows. Lots of stairs but lift available and good breakfast included. Would definitely stay again.
Don't listen to the poor reviews...”
You get what you pay for and unfortunately people are expecting far too much for their money, you can't expect to pay for a cheap room and get the Hilton Hotel! Room was a very good size and clean, the bathroom was immaculate! I always feel a clean and new bathroom leads to a good experience at a hotel. There was a slight stain on the quilt cover but the bedding had been freshly washed. Fantastic location, just a tad confusing to find at first as there are 3 streets with the same name and we had been sent in the wrong direction by the locals. Overall an excellent stay, I would recommend this to friends and family and would stay here again!
nothing missing, reasonable location”
It is a bit of a maze up to the room but had no real issues with the hotel. It is not particulary outstanding It is just soso and as expected for a 3 star at a fair price. Prices in the area are high so I would say that it is well located for the price. room has a nice bathroom and is clean. no complaints
Great little hotel!”
I got upgraded to a double room which was fantastic. Bathroom was brand-new and plenty of space for me as a solo traveller. The location is right near Dam Square & the free breakfast was wonderful with bacon and bread etc
Great Location, Spacious Rooms,Questionable Staff”
Hotel location is great..Rooms were spacious...There is almost nothin to imperfect this hotel except for one of their staff Ms Linda who was rather unprofessionl and rude..but at least Pascal and their.MD did prompt service recovery..
big room ”
We had a great stay, staff were efficient, the beds were 2 singles pushed together and there was no aircon so I wouldn't recommend it for the middle of summer, but for the price I would definitely go back
