Clean, modern hotel Close to the airport Few steps walking distance to the train/tram station
Good value, a bit remote”
Travelling to visit Herriot Watt & Edinburgh university with son. A bit hard to find (not all GPS are the same) but KFC,Crispy Creme available for late night snacks But nothing else around, a bit remote Liked HW university, green, clean, pleasan but very campus and 30 minute bus ride to town - good tour Ed uni OK but tour slide show and didn't see any accommodation.
Fantastic, But the Chef Could Maybe Do Better”
Novotel are always good. Everything was perfect and the location is actually great for visiting Edinburgh ( the shops almost opposite are a bonus). Our only gripe was that the food wasn't great. Pizza badly done, inedible Caesar salad, cheap nasty burgers, uncooked eggs at breakfast, just pretty nasty. Otherwise really good, lovely reception staff, waiters. Fish and chips was good. My husband is a Chef in 5 star hotels so this is also a professional opinion. They need to improve this. It was like the chef didn't have a clue how these dishes should be done and was improvising.
Gorgeous pool! ”
Very clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent amenities including a very nice pool with sauna and steam room. Close to the airport. Opposite a KFC and a Krispy Kreame if that floats your boat. Good coffee from the restaurant area, and Punk IPA tins available. Highly recommend for a relaxing stopover before or after being at Edinburgh Airport.
Great staff but a little rough around the edges”
The hotel staff are exceptional, very polite and attentive however the rooms and lifts were not up to the same standard with poorly fitted facias in the lift and exposed backing boxes in the rooms. The location is great for getting into edinburgh via the tram and the car park is large with plenty of spaces.
Very nice place for a couple of nights”
The hotel is great to stay a couple of nights and visit Edinburgh. The best: - 2 minutes walking from a train station and tram station to go to Edinburgh centre. - 5 minutes walking from a big Tesco to buy food and drinks. - Dog friendly. - Helpful and friendly staff. The not so good: - Got lost trying to find it on the GPS using the postcode - £4 per day to use the parking - Lack of dog friendly area on the bar/restaurant
Perfect for airport stopover”
A very clean and spacious room with good bathroom and bed - all you need for a 1 night stopover near the airport. It is on the tram line which is convenient but note the eraliest ram to the airport in the morning is 6am - so book a taxi if needing an earlier ride (only 10 min ride to airport or 15min tram ride). Would stay here again for sure.....
Super friendly staff and wheelchair friendly”
We stayed in this hotel for three nights and found all of the staff very friendly and helpful. Location is very handy near a tram stop and all of this is very wheelchair friendly and accessible too. We enjoyed our stay and will hopefully be back! The only downside if you are a smoker is that smoking is only allowed outside the front door and there are no other areas.
This was a nice location for staying the night before flying. Food at the restaurant was tasty. A little work was being done in the hallway of our floor and the manager sent a signed letter apologizing and then gave us a complimentary box of cookies.
Easy access to airport. Exceptional staff”
A relaxing end to a two week drive through the UK, prior to a flight to Europe. The Hertz rental car had an inbuilt navigation system which was not current, resulting in us being directed to a road in an industrial area that was blocked and did not allow access to the hotel. After local advice and risking the use of an expressway ( luckily there was an appropriate exit lane) we found the hotel. The staff member, Moray was extremely helpful.
efficient, friendly, relaxing”
the hotel manager (Mr Rob Dijk) was very helpful. must say he made our stay very comfortable. we had a burst tyre (unfortunately in their car park) and rob helped us get everything sorted and made our tiring day a relaxing one. his attention to his guests would make me always comeback to novotel. thanks.
Welcoming staff for a very nice hotel”
For a weary traveler there is nothing better than a hotel who understands the needs of this type of customer and actually provides the staff who makes the stay as comfortable as possible. A special thanks to Mr. Rob Dijk who when I called to say I was having a little trouble with how the shower works sent someone right up to help me. He was from the moment I checked in welcoming and professional.
Typical Novotel hotel and convenient for Edinburgh”
If you are not expecting much, but need a bed for the night within easy reach of the airport, this is a reasonable option. The public areas were being refurbished during my stay, so things were generally out of place and disorganised. But even when completed, the bar area is dreary and uninspiring. There is only free to air TV in the rooms, and very limited programme availability in the public areas. The hotel is in a business park, so nothing in the area to do if you want to go out - except the KFC over the road! Only worth using this hotel if you want an inexpensive option near the airport.
Value for Money”
Good except for the finishes in the bathrooms, a hideous mint green wall in the bathroom which appears to be an undercoat and unfinished. We had to change rooms as the first rooms bathroom was only half painted. Airconditioning was also a little hit and miss. However for a business hotel, close to the airport, two train stops from the main city, its in an excellent location. Travellers should note that if arriving at the main train station that they can get a local train to the hotel which will save them around £14 on a taxi fare. Wifi was very slow and needs upgrading for a business client.
Well located for airport and good quality”
Very convenient to Airport Room good Staff very friendly and helpful Close to rail line but didn’t hear much noise Good car park Bar a bit slow in serving but good selection Dinner was nice, didn’t have breakfast Clean Would stay again if going to airport Wifi Good
great service, convenient location, great value”
we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at novotel edinburgh park. he rooms are clean and comfortable. it is only 2 stations away from edinburgh waverley which is the town centre where all the tour buses depart and transport is very efficient and easy to work out. there is a shopping centre just over the road, a kfc and a krispy kreme doughnut shop. taxi from hotel to airport cost 15 pound and only 10-15 minutes away. the only downside is that you have to pay for internet connection. its 9 pound for 24 hours but they gave us 3 codes for our different devices which was nice. all in all, highlyr recommwnded! btw, edinburgh is awesome!!! will be back for sure but nwxt time will be longer.
Smart business hotel in a handy location”
we stayed in a superior double room and were very happy with it. good-sized queen bed with a comfortable sofa next to the window. the view could have been better, as the room overlooked a construction site, but this wasn't particularly important to us. the rain shower is great, lovely hot water with good water pressure. the swimming pool in the basement was nice, if a little small. staff were professional; we had no contact with them apart from checking in and out.
Lovely Hotel and great Service”
Me and my friend stayed last 31 Dec. 2012 to 2 Jan. 2013 to celebrate the NYE Hogmanay. The hotel I would say is of great value for money, great facilities, good customer service and its accessibility to nearby train makes it still accessible to the city centre. We have a great stay, Thank you!!!
Nice all round”
on a predominantly backpacking trip this was our refresher stay. although we found driving in a little difficult, being unfamiliar with the area, once we arrived everything was as we expected. a nice large room with good facilities (pool, gym, dining).
