Novotel Madrid Center is centrally located on O'Donnell in Madrid's historic area of Barrio Salamanca. The Goya metro station is less than 50 meters away, tourist spots like Retiro Park are within walking distance, and Charmartin railway station and Prado Museum are also nearby. Rooms are pleasantly decorated and feature modern amenities including satellite TV, an IDD telephone, and an in-room safe. The El Roble' restaurant and La Terraza snack bar are great choices for a convenient quick bite, and the hotel disco is the scene of some lively nights and popular with many local residents.

Novotel Madrid Centre was better than I expected from Novotel brand. Breakfast was very rich. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Recommended without hesitation. Will stay again.
Good Location, tiny bit pricey, but overall nice!”
5 minutes walk to the nearest train station. Not too far from the park. The hotel is nice and the staff was lovely. The breakfast buffet was great and the food at the bar/restaurant was also pretty good. The bar/Restaurant is pretty much right there in the lobby so not the nicest place to grab a drink or eat when you have screaming kids and crying babies around you. Overall was great and would stay again if I couldn’t find something a bit cheaper.
I stay in this hotel because of conference so it is convenient for me but not for tourist.”
One of the lady staff is helpful and very friendly. However, then I met another male staff who is very rule and just said “this is Madrid and every hotel here is the same” which is impolite and not willing to solve the problem!
Great clean hotel staff friendly Small but efficient gym Con pool opens at 11 and was limited to maybe 20 sub chairs and if you weren't in a line waiting to get into the pool that wasn't something you could do for the day
Staff very helpful food excellent good service and very goos value for money ”
We went for a concert and venue was 2 minutes away so very happy every thing was good for us
Excellent value for Madrid and away from the hustle and bustle”
Typical Novotel quality and service. Hotel is relatively new inside and quite spacious. Location is not right in the middle of Madrid, so there's a bit of a commute to get to the sights, but on the other hand it's quiet at night and literally 100m from the first stop of the export express bus. There are several subway stations nearby (try using Goya for quick access to the city center) and some supermarkets, restaurants, cafes etc. We arrived at 9am after a long flight and were given a room right away which was very much appreciated. Rooms are big enough with good bathroom, big TV, free bottles water and a fridge, but lacking natural light due to small windows.
The room was very nice, spacious & modern. Features that we liked were the large walk-in shower, large built-in closet, the separate area for coffeemaker & safe and extra shelves for storage. Lobby area was very large & modern with several seating areas which was great & also a bar/food area. Also water & fruits offered daily in the lobby was a nice touch. We would stay with Novotel again. The pool area looked great. We did not get to use pool area as it was not open yet. If it was open, the Facilities area would probably rate higher.
Strategic location with 2 Metro stations nearby”
This hotel was located 15min away from airport. Goya metro station & O'Donnell metro station were both 6 min & 5 min walk respectively. Many cafes were just next to hotel. La Goyesca II was our favourite. Staff were really friendly. Room was spacious for 3 adults. We will definitely stay at this hotel if we visit Madrid in future.
Good location, great service”
This hotel is a good choice due to the convenience location and great customer service. The breakfast is pretty good too. Rooms are a bit old fashion, I believe there are rooms newly renovated though. Overall is a great option, quality vs prices is very good for Madrid.
Lovely hotel and service with a smile”
It was a very nice hotel excellent location out of tone but 15 minutes from the city A big supermarket just in front the hotel is very nice and clean the rooms are big clean Equipped with everything needed free internet we recommend it very much.
Very good value for money”
Close to the subway station, clean rooms, free water and fresh fruit at the lobby. Would stay here again.
Daer, First, I am surprise about, what should available in the bathroom , small piece of tissue No sheave kits or other things I see in other hotel. I looking for a business center to print some documents , but no printer available, only thru the hotel staff.
Nothing much interesting with this hotel. The lobby is good and the receptionist at the check-in counters are fast and friendly. The room was basic, but without A/C. Despite coming to Madrid on November, the weather was quite warm. The only window in the room faces a void space with no way for the air to pass through.
Great Value for money, centrally located.”
We just needed to spend the first night. After a shocker incident where we lost a good amount of money, the reception staff helped us in filing a report and gave us free internet to sort out the issues and contact home. The hotel is very easy to find, centrally located, 5 mins walk from the famous Retiro park.
We did not like the hotel”
This hotel is an old type hotel. Nothing was provided in the room although it was a four start hotel. There was no tissue paper even. We were there on mid of May. The weather was so cold and we asked for heating system which we were told central heating was not working. We were initially freezing.
Good value for money”
It's a good value for money but as many said, it obviously needs some upgrading in its rooms for it to maintain its 4 stars. A very good hotel with competent staff and a good location. The only 2 downsides were the old fashioned rooms and its lack of free internet. I believe that a hotel shouldn't call itself a business traveler oriented hotel if it can not even provide its guests with free internet.
Hotel was fine for a budget family holiday”
Stayed for four nights with wife and 12 year old child in a family room. The room was comfortable and met our needs but the hotel is in need of an upgrade. Small things like losing the old blankets and bedcovers and replacing with duvets would help. The hotel is a typical 4 star hotel from the 70's and 80's but unfortunately they have made no effort to maintain with current 4 star levels. This all being said it was not bad for the price.
cosy, old fashioned, safe”
We just need to pay % Euros for ticket each to the hotel. We walk only 300m. We feel that while the location is great and this is old styled hotel, it might be nice if they offer facilities like gym or sauna (but this is not our must-haves). Staff is friendly and helpful.
good location, old style but comfortable room”
Mentioning about access via airport shuttle bus was a very helpful tip. We missed the bus but did not have to wait long for the next one. Walking to hotel was very straight forward, except it was very hot to walk with very heavy luggage to hotel. Old style but very comfortable. but there is no tuning of aircon level.
Good Location, Bad Decor”
Hotel Convencion was comfortable enough, but I would not have spent any more time there than I did - just to sleep and shower. The room was clean and adequate, we had an interior room so our view was of the room across from us - ask for an exterior room if you want to avoid this! The staff was friendly, there are free computers in the lobby to use, and wifi in the lobby if you bring your laptop. I can't comment on the food because we didn't have any meals there. I'm not sure how family-friendly the hotel is.
