Reasonably good value for money”
This is a very old hotel with a very small lift going up to 6th storey; there is another level, 7th-storey, which the lift does not get to. Lift is very slow and small (takes about 4 passengers without luggage) and its door often has problems closing. The room is quite basic and several areas have been patched (shower base, floor tiles and wall tiles) or requires patching (basin console), room floor. There is a small refrigerator and no air conditioning. At the rate of about US$100 for two nights in April 2019 it was good value for money and a reasonably good location for my purposes. The cleaner did not clean the room even though I had placed the green “please clean the room” signage outside on my door knob - I left the room at about 11am and returned at about 5pm. The male manager was quite good in English and was generally helpful.
Nice hotel to stay”
I like the hotel, and good staff and good customer service and nice location in the Budapest. In future they need to improve is their wi-fi connections. i like to stay again this hotel in future. Good job guys, keep continue.
Nice hotel with clean rooms”
Not the best but not too shabby for a night stay. Garage carpark come at a small cost but very recommended for traveller using car. Relatively near to major attraction either by public transport or car.
Outside looks great.inside is so old ”
Except the location, everything is awlful. 1.elavator only to 6th floor.but we got the 7th floor room.baggage is so heavy.but nobody helps us. 2.The room is not equipped hair dryer.if you need.you must go to front desk to borrow (bring your ID) 3.toelet tissue is yellow.so disgusting 4.room is dark.
Very unpleasant hotel”
No air con. Dust everywhere. Broken fan. Staff are so rude and the only time you see them smile is when they talk to each other. It was 31 degrees inside the room and 26 outside!!!! Worst experience I’ve had in a hotel.
good choice for you”
willing to recommend. kind staffs helped me to look around budapest city. clean room with space and reasonable price. near the hotel you can easily enjoy a variety of restaurants and stores. From the hotel 5 minute's walk, Metro and Tram are available. good merit.
Like sleeping in an oven”
Living in California I am use to not having air conditioning but this place is smoking hot. They do provide you with a small fan but it hardly works. The window opens about 30% but there is no breeze what so ever. This was the first time I have been woken up because I was so warm. The hotel is pretty close to the metro and relatively cheap so this place would be a great choice in the winter.
Be aware of refund and hotel description”
When I made the reservation the agoda.com website did not indicate that the fee is non refundable. Actually the website states: "you will pay at the hotel". This not true. Agoda charged me for the entire stay. When we arrived it was very hot at Budapest. The room that was given to us had no air conditioning, only a ventilator. The outside temperature was around 97 Fahrenheit (36 Celsius), inside the room was around 90 Fahrenheit all night. We could not sleep. I could not find another hotel right away until next day. We moved next day to Leonardo (more expensive) with ac in the room. I called Agoda to dispute the charge. They never picked up the phone. I was waiting around 20 minutes and it cost me a lot because of the international call. Terrible experience. I never book at Agoda.com again. (Stefan from US).
Even there is a parking lot for the guests in front of the hotel, at the time of our arrival they were under the chain, after only four minutes when we went to the car which was parked right in front of the hotel we got a penalty, we do not really know how so fast, we were fined the time when we asked the staff of the hotel where to buy a parking ticket on what they did not know about, even though the parking machine at the end was fifty feet from the entrance to the hotel. When we asked the staff to call the customer service and notify them that we have been sentenced to punishment, she has sent us the number of punishment we have received and how someone might speak English and try to explain them. In-room safe box not working, hair dryer was not in the room, toiletries was not in the toilet :( Close to city, nice location, all that is missing in this hotel is more efort and will to work.
It was a little tattered inside and no air conditioning, but for price you cannot beat it.
Place is clean and staff is helpful. Wifi is great as well.
I stayed for only three days. Already entering, although he were being written in the reservation that I wanted a double bed and verbally told the front desk, I was given a room with two beds. The room it is then replaced. The room cleanliness is poor and miserable. I fall it is a map under the table (desk) has been there for three days, meaning that not even sweep the floor. The sink in the room bathroom is ancient (peels off the furniture) as well as the mirror. The drain plug was absolutely filthy with mold-standing, I put it on the sink to see him. It's been there for three days and no one has cleaned. Protect bed without mattress (who knows that dirt) and sheet side head shorter than 10 cm. Breakfast: poor choice, just as jam, lack of fruit. No protection antisputo to servisol, as well as grippers for the service of the bread (see customers touching with their hands the bread ..) ... yuck.I would not go even to free.
Good but not a three star hotel”
I stayed twice in this hotel. Staff speak very good English and very efficient. There a nice small breakfast buffet. Good location. Bedding are terrible !!! mattresses are not comfortable and old. I requested and specified I wanted a double bed and they just stuck two single beds together which is unacceptable !! Furniture are like cheap Ikea style. Bathrooms are clean but need a serious upgrade (shower curtains are not pleasant things). good thing is the safe easy to use, fast internet and mini fridge (which really need a big defrosting). We can feel some effort from the staff to make this hotel a good venue but it's definitely NOT a 3 stars (more a youth hotel) and the price is way too high for what it is. It would be better to hire a studio/apartment if you visit Budapest.
good location but awful breakfast”
the location is good. just 5 mins walk from the nearest station which is connecting to the centre and the international bus stop. so if you would like to use international bus, its gonna be really good hotel. plus, near the station there is the place to exchange money and the rate is quite nice. so I would recommend that you should exchange money not in the hotel but in the place near the station. but if you go from Japan, they will accept without change so e.g. if you wanna exchange 5000yen to hungary money, you should have 5000yen.
good enough service and good location”
location is quite good. this is located just 5 mins from the station which is connecting to the centre. and 20-30mins to the airport by taxi(better to ask hotel front and it costs 20euro not so bad :)) and from the international bus stop it takes 15mins by metro and walk. hotel is not so good, i mean, too dark and shower room is not big enough. but clean basically. one thing that you cannot expect is breakfast. breakfast is not so good and staff there is kinda ungentle. but its for free so if you take into consideration of it, the total review will be more than 5 of 10 :)
very good hotel for room and position”
hello everybody!! i went in this hotel with a friend in february 2012. the hotel has big and clean room, or at least ours was big and it is in a very strategic position. there are tram stop at the beginning of the street and the metro is not far away, you need 5 minutes by walk. if you like continantal breakfast it is good, there are enought things, if you like sweets could be a problem but this is not a real problem. staff is very friendly, advising you where take the tram etc.
Cheap and worn hotel with decent service”
The room was a smoker's, and I could clearly smell the smoke (even though usually I'm not bothered by it). The toilet had a drip, and the shower and sink initially ran brown water, though it went clear for a while and stayed that way. TV only had one English-speaking channel, Sky News. The area is close to the center (though not quite within easy walking distance), and the staff was nice and friendly. Note: there's a tax payable on departure that isn't included in the price quoted on agoda.com. Fortunately this is only a couple of euros.
small but cozy hotel”
This hotel is located a bit far from tourist spots, like the palace and bridges. But you can access easily by trams which frequently come and go. tram station is just a few minutes walk from the hotel. you can get to everywhere in the city for just 20 minutes. Though the room was not air-conditioned, it's not a big problem. It was not hot when I visited in May.
Nice price near metro and tram lines. Could't ask for more
Not worth the new prices only a 1 star hotel you can get better for your money , and breakfast is a joke , rooms out dated.
