"The room itself was pretty awesome. I really liked the high ceilings and marble floors and the bed was super comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and the shower was excellent. I really felt at peace in there and wish my living situation in Hawaii was more like this place - haha. I felt like the room itself is worth the price. The pool set up is great and it has swim-up bar which is pretty cool. There are outside fountain showers by the pool and a bathroom - which is great for rinsing off sand from the beach, washing hands etc. The food was excellent. You stay next to 2 really authentic and cheap local restaurants as well, which is super convenient. The beach is nearby, w/ various surf break options and what seem like hundreds of booths offering snorkeling, diving , etc. Most importantly the customer service was excellent. The ATMs on Lembongan are complete crap and would not dispense the money I tried to withdraw. To make matters worse - my bank at home thought I had received the money from these (multiple) attempted transactions. The staff at the hotel were completely empathetic towards my potential nightmare situation. They let me receive cash through swiping a credit card. I have been traveling in Indonesia 8 times now - I have been in a situation like this one before (my card got sucked into a ATM machine) and no hotel ever let me do that despite my desperate plea for help. I thought I might have been trapped on the island w/ no money but the hotel staff understood my situation and helped me through it. Overall - I greatly enjoyed my stay here. I think the only downside was the Wifi was pretty bad. But to be honest - I've yet to find good Wifi in Indonesia period. I think you have to pretty much go to internet cafes w/ cable hook ups to get anything close to speedy. "

"Its such a nice place to stay, its quiet and everything is clean. The wifi was the best wifi we had so far in Bali/Lembongan/Gili T. Also a nice pool, where you can get in and out easily. My mom had an accident with a scooter and she ended up in the 'hospital'. The hospital called Garden Cottages, which we didnt know of. They came immediatly to see if my mom was okay, it was so sweet. The young lady and her uncle stayed the whole time with us. And paid the hospital bill because we didn't have enough money with us. After that she called her other uncle, who was a taxi driver, to bring us to the hotel. They didnt want anything for it.. They also took care of the scooter for us! We had 2 more nights there and it was a peaceful stay. It's a family company and they prepare all the food themselves. We enjoyed everything, from breakfast to dinner. As we noticed they clean everyday even if there weren't any customers. Thank you so much for all the good care!"

Optimal Seasons for Nusa Lembongan Adventures

When planning your trip to Nusa Lembongan, timing can greatly enhance your experience. The island enjoys a tropical climate, with two main seasons: the dry season and the wet season. The dry season, which runs from April to October, is considered the best time to visit. During these months, you can expect plenty of sunshine, lower humidity, and minimal rainfall, making it perfect for outdoor activities like snorkeling, diving, and beach lounging.

Peak tourist season typically occurs from July to August, coinciding with school holidays in many markets. While this is the best time for sunny weather, it’s also when the island sees the most visitors. If you prefer a quieter experience, consider visiting during the shoulder months of April, May, or September, when the weather is still pleasant, but the crowds are thinner. Additionally, local festivals and events often take place during these months, providing a unique opportunity to experience the island's culture and traditions firsthand.

The wet season, from November to March, brings heavier rainfall and occasional storms. While some travelers might shy away from visiting during this time, it can still be a great option for those looking for lower prices and fewer tourists. Just be prepared for some rain and plan indoor activities, such as exploring local markets or enjoying a relaxing day at your accommodation. With careful planning, you can find the perfect time to experience all that Nusa Lembongan has to offer.

Essential Travel Tips for Nusa Lembongan Explorers

Balinese culture is rich and steeped in tradition, so taking the time to learn about local etiquette—such as dressing modestly when visiting temples and being respectful during ceremonies—will go a long way in fostering goodwill with the locals.

Currency is another key aspect to consider. The Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) is the local currency, and it’s advisable to have some cash on hand, especially in more remote areas where credit cards may not be accepted. ATMs are available on the island, but they can be limited, so it’s wise to withdraw cash in advance if you’re planning on visiting smaller shops or restaurants.

Safety is paramount while traveling, and Nusa Lembongan is generally a safe destination. However, it’s still wise to take precautions, such as securing your belongings and being cautious when swimming in unfamiliar waters. Additionally, if you plan to rent a scooter or bicycle to explore the island, ensure you have a valid license and wear a helmet for safety.
