I would say The Grand Hotel, Nuwara Eliya is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in Sri Lanka. Perfectly located with a quiet surrounding still with in walking distance to the city center. Grand is a British empire era hotel and certainly lives up to it’s name. The look and the feel are undoubtably majestic. The staff was extremely friendly and I would like to mention Sasanka and Duminda from the front office for their excellent customer service, Mr. Bala from the Bar for the friendly game of pool and his vivid explanation on the history of the location ( the three pool tables are more than 100 years old and the building is a part of the original governor’s bungalow from 1800’s!) and Chef Augustus for the wonderful birthday cake (It was my son’s birthday a few days back, and the cake was complementary). The restaurant staff too were welcoming, warm and enthusiastic. The Indian restaurant is a ‘must-try’ !

I stayed 3 nights here and love it. It's close to city center but very quiet. There's a shortcut to center through the golf yard and just need 5min walk to bus terminal, post office. The building, the garden r quite elegant. The housekeeping is good, they make up rooms twice a day. Above all, the reading should be the best of all hotels in Nuwara Eliya. I spent a lot time there. To defect, the food is average, even the famous heritage set dinner. Less choice of breakfast. The restaurant service is unstable. On the last morning, I stood at the door of restaurant and wait for the waiter bring me to a table, but they just took me a glance and walked away! It's really unprofessional! I understand there're some people only visit the hotel without consume. But I don't think somebody would visit a hotel in the ealy morning! To be honest, most staffs r so so. They look well-trained, but no heart!

Over 120 year old English hotel ,some rooms need to be fixed.it rained in nuwara Eliya during our stay and at night I noticed some water on the floor in the corner of room.when I informed the housekeeper came and changed a new room for us.in the room,there re all facilities.we impressed the long history of this building and about how they become green hotel.their back yard is little organic farm.breakfast buffet was excellent!

The staff was super lovely, welcoming and even prepared our packed lunch as we were leaving at 5am to Horton plains national park. The room was clean, and the bed was super lovely (had the best sleep in Sri Lanka!). The staff even brought hot water bottles to warm our beds, and I honestly wished I could have stayed for longer. The price wasn't the cheapest compare to other hotels in Nuwara Eliya, but I really really enjoyed the stay. 누와라 엘리야의 호텔중에서 비싼편에 속하긴 했지만 정말 정말 좋았던거 같아요. 고풍스런 건물도 좋았고 깨끗한 방이랑 침구, 푹신했던 침대 덕분에 정말 푹 잤습니다. 스리랑카에서 지냈던 호텔중에 젤 깨끗하고 좋았네요

We stayed one night at Albany villa and had the best stay ever. We ve been welcomed and treated like princesses by an amazing staff. They were so considerate and nice to us, they made our stay completely perfect. The villa is charming, lovely decorated, and very confortable. The furniture is amazing and the garden is adorable. We really recommend the villa for holidays in Nuwara elya, it's cheaper that it should be regarding to the high quality of service. Thanks again to all the kind staff, you have been great ! ☺

My stay at the hotel was totally overwhelming, and I extended my stay for another two nights due to the great comfort. It is a hotel built by international standard with all the facilities - spacious room/bathroom, clean towel, heater, tea/coffee-making facilities, high-speed internet, TV w/ international channels, and mostly importantly steady hot water which is very important in Nuwara Eliya. Staff are respective and friendly, and they prepared great breakfast (toast w/ butter&jam, egg, milk, tea/coffee, sausage/bacon, fruit). The location is within 15min walk to the city center, and 5min to Grand Hotel. It is superior to the other hotels I stayed in Sri Lanka during my trip. Highly recommended!

This is located few kilometres away from Nuwara Eliya town centre but very easy to get in (Don't complain, take a bus to Mahagasthota and a taxi. It costs less than two dollars). The staff is nice and welcoming. But the most important thing was the room. This is a very large clean room. Definitely worth twice the money I paid. The free breakfast was good enough. It is not a buffet breakfast, but if you need more, they will happily give you as much as you need. Don't go to fancy and expensive hotels in Nuwara Eliya if you want to stay few nights. Grand Camellia worth more than what you pay. I'll definitely go there again.

The room condition may not be the best in all hotels we stayed in SriLanka, but the staffs there are definitely the nicest! Warm smile and great service! ♥️ Unlike some other hotels providing tourism packages to earn money, the staffs here simply help you like friends with useful information and guidance. And the garden is so great, beautiful view and nice place to take a nap^_^ Highly recommended!

we stayed at Serenus for a night and enjoyed our stay. The view in the morning was breath taking. every photograph we took were like pictures from post cards. we stayed in the triple room and got the view of part of Gregory lake and mountain view. The room was comfortable, there was no air condition because the weather up there was very cold. The staff were very accommodating, friendly and pro active. we felt very comfortable staying there. The only minu point is the drive up the mountain which took us about 2 hr + but seeing the view , it was all worth it. will definitely come back one day.

We stayed in the attic room which had the most fantastic bathtub. My husband, who loves baths, spent a good 2 hours enjoying. Staff were fantastic and could not be more helpful and obliging. Stairs were a bit steep, but it was an attic room, so to be expected. They have a beautiful pool table on the second floor which we made use of on one of the 3 evenings we stayed. They are a bit far from town, but that seems to be the case with a lot of the hotels in Nuwara Eliya. The included breakfast was ample and tasty and the tea and cookies were always available. Oh, and the bed was great! Thanks.

Because in Nuwara Eliya everything is a little more expansive, we chose our accommodation a little outside (5min with Tuktuk). And Luxe Wilderness was just perfect. The villa is furnished like a british country house and is absolutely beautiful. You have a kitchen equipped with everything you might need. And if you don’t want to cook or leave the house: the owner offered to order some food for us. The bedroom in the upper floor consists of two large beds and has a balcony with a really great view. And yes, one of the pictures shows the actual bathtube in the bathroom. But you have a shower and two basins as well. Everything is arranged just beautifully. Breakfast was also great, we had the Sri Lankan style breakfast, but you can also choose an english breakfast. The owner arranged everything for us, Tuktuks to the city centre (250 rupies) or a tour to a tea plantation. He was just nice. We definitely recommend you Luxe Wilderness for a restful and wonderful stay in Nuwara Eliya.

Good part: 1. near the city center 2. large room size Not good part: 1. nothing but old/semi-broken resident houses in the neighborhood 2. facility is no handy to use: wifi super slow, heater not working, washroom too slippy, TV not working(half day) in my trip, no hairdryer in the room and need to ask from reception In conclusion, this is a place that can provide basic hotel service but just stop in this stage, if want to have a comfort and happy journey in the city, better consider other hotel first, especially when you notice the room price.

A quite new place with 8 rooms available, only opened 5 months ago. Stayed there for two nights and the rooms were great, staff very friendly and helpful. The menu did not have much local food, although they did offer to make local signature dishes. The restaurant did not sell any alcohol, but the waiters gladly went to buy from the place next door. Good service! Less than 10 minutes to city center. Would definitely stay there again!

During our trip's planning, we had a difficult time knowing if we should stay in Ella or Nuwara Elyia. We are so glad we chose Nuwara Elyia, and the Tea Plant hotel. It's a beautiful building next to Gregory Lake- lovely views, relaxing atmosphere, and a very accommodating, kind staff. The hotel is more removed versus some locations in the more touristy areas around the tea country, but we were very pleased to eat dinner at the hotel (great chef who is also happy to create dishes outside of his menu) after a day touring the area. I'd also highly recommend hiring a driver for a stay around this area, because the roadside views are spectacular. (We enjoyed them more than the train's, to be frank.) The bed was very comfortable and the shower pressure/temperature was great. If we encountered any small issues, the hotel staff were extremely helpful and accommodating to our needs/desires. The Tea Plant was certainly a highlight during our trip, and we'd stay here again if we had the chance!

having stayed in nuwara eliya many times and staying at one of the big three hotels there each time, due to prices and bad service at those i chose to stay at the glenfall resort. the service was fantastic from all the staff and the owners are two of the nicest people i have ever met. my stay was so comfortable and very enjoyable. i would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to everyone. thanks for the wonderful relaxing stay, i will definitely be back!!

It’s a cosy nice cottage and very relaxing. Everything was very clean and bed was very comfortable Bathroom have good hot water and clean Staff was very helpful and friendly. Specially Mr. Ayesh was very helpful throughout our stay. We were offered Jetwing St Andrews breakfast and it was very nice Location: 2 minutes walking distance to city center and very convenient Overall it was exceptional

when i asked my husband which part of our trip he liked most, he replied me without hesitation that it was our stay at villa acacia. when i chose villa acacia among other accomodation in nuwara eliya it was mainly based on the balance between its outlook and price. it was much much more beautiful than the photos. thus we have already given some of our good photos taken to the lovely host laki, hoping that he would show the "reality" of villa acacia to other tourist, so that they will not miss such a nice place. villa acacia was very new. everything was newly renovated. the most impressive thing about the villa to me was the panoramic view of nuwara eliya with extra-large glass windows (you should say doors) at the sitting room, also the real fireplace which was really useful in cold evening at the hill top, and the large terrace with lawns that we could directly stepped from 2 out of 3 rooms. i must not forget to mention about the food. there was no menu but laki (the owner) prepared the best for you. he prepared 2 traditional sri lankan dinner and 2 sri lankan breakfast for us (our first sri lankan breakfast first and ever). the food was nicely presented and of course really tasty. i had one of the best sri lankan food item here which was the dessert of our first night of stay. it was the buffalo milk curd with honey. sooooo yummy~ the dining environment was also the best out of all the places we stayed in this trip. candle light, long table with nice table cloth, nice cutlery and of course the real fireplace. there was also an entertainment room at the top floor. there was billiard, table tennis, board games and a large tv. we enjoyed the time there in the evening. i thought the reason why we loved this place so much was because of the host laki. he was there taking cared of our stay. he was sincere and fun. you can feel how much he was happy to be a host. thank you laki!

Villa De Roshe was so beautiful and so well maintained. There are only three rooms inside of the Villa and each room looked to be perfect. We had a beautiful balcony that overlooked vegetable gardens and Nuwara Eliya City. We were only a short walk away from the city and also up the hill which meant peace and quiet. We were very impressed by the breakfast that was served also in the morning. We would definitely recommend this Villa to our friends and family when they come to visit.

One of the best hotels we stayed in Nuwara Eliya. This is a small hotel located in quite high up. It is very peaceful, serene and calm place you can find in NE. The owner Suminda is a very courteous gentleman and the other two guys are very helpful and friendly. Also the room service is very good. We get the breakfast and dinner from there and those are very delicious, home cooked and very fresh. Even the evening tea is very delicious. Our room is quite good with the standards and the only issue we have is there is no cupboards to put our belongings. We sort out that problem with some chairs. We can get a great views from in side the room and that view is stunning in the mornings. Bathroom is very clean and the water pressure is very good, but if you need hot water you should wait for few minutes (3-5). The hotel management is very honest with that thing and you can find many notifications about the hot water issue inside the hotel and even in the rooms. The only minus point is the location of the hotel. It is located almost 2km far from the Nuwara Eliya city centre and if you don't have your private vehicle you should have to pay Rs. 200 - Rs. 400 for taxies to going up and down to the city. The taxi fares may be vary. But if you have your own vehicle that problem is solved. There are enough space for parking. Overall it is a great place to stay for a vacation and you can feel very homely and cared for.

An initial mix up with the booking meant that I paid twice for the same stay, nothing staff could do to help me, it was a task for me to cancel one of the bookings. The hotel was clean, food was good and location is also good for a stay in nuwara eliya. The hotel is still under construction with rooms still being furnished but the quality of the room and bathroom was great for the money you pay. Unfortunately we only stayed one night, not due to the hotel but because nuwara eliya can be seen in one day. A good stay nevertheless.

From the moment we Checked in until we checked out we had an amazing time! The first thing that struck us was the unique interior and the aroma of this place. The staff was so helpful and very accommodating and friendly! They were so helpful and always had a smile! It is a 10 min drive to Nuwaraeliya city from the kent cottage! The English breakfast was very good! This place looks exactly like the pictures on the page. I have to mention how helpful the staff was when our vehicle tyre got stuck We will definitely be back again!

When you book a room, it's all about comfortable beds and the location. You can get an impression from the pictures, but it's always exciting when you arrive. When we arrived at Hills Rest all of these expectations were fulfilled. But what you can't know by looking at pictures is the kindness and the lovely welcome we got from the owners. The hosts were so helpful all the time and did everything to make our stay as good as possible. They even made us breakfast and drove us to the bus station _early_ in the morning. They speak really good English, and I learned a lot about Sri Lanka from the owner, while talking to him and drinking really, really good coffee. If we're going back to Nuwara Eliya in our lifetime(hope so), this is the place we will stay. Thank you so much for our stay!
