Jordan and I had a wonderful time at Nuwara Eliya Homestay, we thoroughly recommend it. Amali and her husband went out of their way to make us feel at home. We were picked up from the station free of charge and Amali gave us a warm welcome with tea and biscuits on arrival. We were shown our room which was huge (2 double beds, and a hot shower). After a rundown of places to visit and restaurants to eat at, we used the lovely sitting room to relax and unwind. They even have a water cooler which provides fresh, clean, cold AND hot water. We were also kindly left tea bags to make our own drinks (such luxury after travelling for the last month). The breakfasts are fantastic! Coconut pancakes, omelettes, rotti, bread, jam, tea, rice, dhal, potato curry - everything so beautifully prepared. Today when we left, Amali’s husband drove us to Negombo for a very fair price, he even bought us lunch on the way! Thank you so much! We hope to come back again one day. Rosie and Jordan :)

Lovely homestay!”
This is a really lovely homestay. Good sized room and very clean. Breakfast was good with a mix of Western/Sri Lankan options. The staff were very kind and helpful with anything we needed. We had booked The Grand Hotel for the following night & there was a mix up with the booking, leaving us disappointed and wishing we had just stayed another night at Nuwara Eliya homestay!

Very nice homestay situated just a bit outside of the centre of Nuwara Eliyah. The owner are very helpful and we also booked a trip to Horton Plains with them which was amazing. The breakfast was also very good. We can recommend this place 100%

Better than hotels ”
Cleaner than all the hotels I ve been in Sri Lanka in the last week. Also hot water and a stable wifi are a plus that not every place can guarantee you. Big breakfast with quality food. The owner is very organised and helpful. Don't look for a hotel, this homestay is better

Very clean rooms and bathroom with hot shower and everything you need. With the directions given on agoda, we had no problems finding the place. It's in a calm area close to a waterfall and forest, but walking distance to the town center. The host are very friendly and helpful and do anything do make you feel at home. Highly recommended!

The best and most comfortable stay in Nuwara”
The host Roshan and his wife are the most courteous and humble people. The rooms were clean and we'll maintained. The bathrooms were clean and we had hot water 24/7 (something that is absolutely necessary for the cold weather). The breakfast that they provided was the better than any of the local restaurants and we would have loved to eat all meals at the property itself. The meals comprised of yummy chicken curry, brilliant coconut rotis, eggs, passion fruit jam and the world's best daal curry. We had taken 3 rooms and stayed for only 2 nights (wish we stayed here longer). In terms of attractions, most of them are within a km. All in all we'd rate this place as a 5/5.

Friendly host, superb breakfast. ”
The room was clean, plenty of hot water and warm blankets (which you'll need) and the owner is very helpful & kind. She gave us a torch so we could walk out for dinner and prepared a delicious breakfast before advertised time as we were leaving early. The only (small) downside is that it's not signposted so we had difficulty finding the place. It's only a 5-minute walk from the main road, but there are many small side streets. If you have data, no problem; otherwise take map screen shots before trying to find the place. Would definitely stay again!

Comfortable & well organised”
The host organised a free pick-up from Nanu-Oya Station, which was helpful. Guesthouse is a 20min walk from the edge of town, set up the hill a bit. There's short steep hill and dirt road just before you arrive. Our room was large and the shower was the hottest we've had in Sri Lanka, which was great. No a/change, but you absolutely don't need it as it's pretty chilly up in the hills. Breakfast was good, egg and toast + a local option, like roti or string hoppers and sauce. Tea making in the lounge area. The host was super helpful in sorting out trips and was very friendly. Her husband took us on a trip to a tea factory and Ramboda Falls. There is a seating area inside, but no outside seating. You need to be a bit careful on the stairs up to the rooms. Was noisy at night with howling dogs, but we might just have been unlucky.

This was a lovely place to stay. Great breakfast if you eat in and lovely hot water. The lounge area is a good addition and was nice to have somewhere to sit in the evenings that wasn’t our bedroom. Short walk to the Main Street.

Anfitriones amables. Problema personal con wifi”
El alojamiento está muy correcto y la pareja que lo regenta es muy amable. Tener en cuenta que si vais o estáis en días fríos lo podéis pasar mal. Fue nuestro caso. Mucho frio y la manta no era suficiente. También quizá por ser fin de año el wifi estaba colapsado pero no había forma de conectarse y debíamos contratar PCR y hacer check in del vuelo, entre otras cosas que nos supuso tener que contratar de nuevo un servicio. Sentimos mucha impotencia de no poder solucionar todo y no obtener solución al problema. Estas dos cosas quizá no fueron culpa del hotel pero nos tocó y vale la pena comentarlo. Por lo demás nos han ayudado en todo.

Chambres propose et identique à la photos. Hôte très gentille et attentive aux moindres de nos questions ou demandes. de très bon conseils concernant les activites, les restaurants et les prix pratiqués. Petit déjeuner typiquement srilankais Seul point négatif l'adresse est difficile à trouver. pensez à prendre le numéro de téléphone pour appeler une fois sur place si vous ne trouvez pas(votre chauffeur de tuk tuk ou taxi s'en chargera). nous recommandons cette adresse sur nuwara elia
