Best hotels & accommodations in Nyaung-U

The hotel has a resort feel and is really beautiful. The room and furnitures are spacious and tasteful (the bed is especially spacious). The private balcony is a nice place to sit in. Breakfast spread was fine. The staff are really nice, friendly, and helpful. Hotel is in the outskirts of Nyaung-U, and you can borrow their bicycle (for free) to cycle a short distance t...

Staff/ Service: Good english, very helpful and professional, amazingly quick room service in terms of laundry, ironing, etc. Location: There are three possibilities to stay in Bagan: Nyaung-U , Old Bagan and New Bagan. Zfreeti Hotel is in Nyaung-U, which is close to the seeport, the airport, balloon starting point - we were very happy with it. There are restaurants...

Don’t book the standard room, it’s on the basement and there is no fan in the bathroom so it smells very bad, we checked 2 rooms. Not great. But the manager is a champion! He was very apologetic and moved us to a better room upstairs which was very nice. All the staff here are amazing and friendly. They work hard, literally they were there all the time. Location is nic...

The hotel was all in all nice - the pool is chilly, it is not noisy there (just a little bit of the birds if you stay in the upper level). they have some e-bikes (motorcycle) for rent for half day (10'000) and full day (20'000). They run about 30-40km per hour but we had not the best one (number 8): we went to old bagan and then new bagan and from there to the hotel ...

premises looked dated but this seems to be norm for Bagan hotels. Service is great, immediate response for service requested. Mr Myint at the restaurant/bar is a good manager. Food is average by international standard but not bad compared to roadside restaurants in town, including the one on the 9F at the observatory tower nearby. U cant compare this to an Aman in Bali...

Conveniently located by the Tharabar Gate, The Hotel @ Tharabar Gate was a great choice for our stay in Bagan. We stayed for 2 nights and would be happy to return for my future trip. A few highlights: 1) The hotel has arguably the best location to explore Bagan - it's pretty much at the central point in between Nyaung U and New Bagan and close to the several major t...

The hotel is located along Anawrahta Road in Nyaung-U Bagan, very near Nyaung-U Jetty if you are going to take the river cruise to Mandalay. The breakfast is great also and the location is very nice specially if you want to stay in a quiet place with a pool. There are some stores, restaurants and bike rentals near the hotel and it is safe to stroll along the street...

Hotel stay was value for money! The best Hotel I have stayed in for my Myanmar trip. This Hotel find was really a gem. The rooms were very clean and cozy, staff spoke good English and there were no communication barriers. Service was excellent and location of Hotel/proximity to Nyaung-U airport is convenient.

The location is great, in Nyaung U, but close to old Bagan can bike to most major temples in 20 mins. The food is great with reasonable price, bike rental just outside of the hotel, also a local BBQ restaurant nearby, many people drive there for dinner. Also a ballon company has office in the hotel. It really has everything you need in Bagan.

I stayed at Thante Nyaung U Hotel for 4 days / 3 night. Rented a bicycle to explore the temples, took a horse cart for a more distant adventure. The hotel staff arranged for two adventures - sunset one evening and a horse cart adventure, exploring temples. I found the temples (11th century) quite interesting and in many ways, more interesting than Angkor Wat

Lovely hotel close within walking distance to Old Bagan. The staff are very professional, very friendly - always greeted with a good morning/afternoon/evening. Assisted many times with taxi's and the bus back to Mandalay. The rooms were splendid, very clean when we arrived first day and were cleaned on request. Showers and air conditioning were fine, no issues at all....

Shwe Na Di Guest House is a good option to stay in Bagan. It's location is very central in Nyaung U, which is the cheaper (backpacker) town next to the archaeological sites. The staff is very kind and helpful, especially with organizing tours and transport or explaining the area. The breakfast offers a very nice variety off local food, as well as eggs and toast and you...

Highly recommended! Owner and staff friendly, kind and very helpful Location is great, probably a bit far from the temples for some people but perfect for me as I'd been around Bagan already and needed a day to relax. Free shuttle to Nyaung U <-> hotel. Nice pool, very refreshing in hot afternoons. Room is big and very clean. Late check-out available Breakfast was plen...

Good value for money hotel in the middle of the town. As an independent traveller you want to stay in Nyaung U instead of Old or New Bagan. All the local life is here. Breakfast is absolutely amazing! Try the Mohinga soup which is also what the locals eat. Staff was satisfactory. They were most of the time pretty helpless about our questions.

we had great days in bagan because of the incredible bagan lotus hotel. it's out of bagan or nyaung u but it is the best plce. great outdoor area with pool and fitness studio next to it.there's a bar with happy hours as well! our room was perfect with comfy beds, aircon, room service, drinks in the fridge, super nice bathroom with nice toilet articles like shampoo, lot...

This is an old hotel that is being renovated. First impression is not great as the old reception (that is no longer) used is still standing and looks very dated. New reception is at side of hotel. Our room was newly renovated with newly tiled bathroom, newly decorated bedroom and new a/c unit. Hotel is great value for Bagan. It's directly across from main Pagoda i...

This hotel was in Nyaung-U which is closer to the airport than Old Bagan and New Bagan meaning a taxi was only 5000K. Although there is a large concentration of temples in Old Bagan, they are literally everywhere and the better ones are not inside the gate. So where you stay is not so important. The hotel helped us get electronic bikes from outside the entrance (mak...

Location: it is in a quiet corner, 5 minutes from a street of restaurant in Nyaung U. Nearby there, one can start finding temples or sunset visit to visit (e.g. Buleti temple). To get to New or Old Bagan, one can either cycle or rent a e-bike. The archaeological zone is pretty huge so it is not recommended to walk if you want to visit many temples especially under a ho...

I really happy staying here. The owner are very helpful, very nice, also the staff. Thet help us for rent the e-bike, they also give us free map and show us the best place for enjoying sunset and sunrise. And also, they provide us free mineral water bottle if we need more. The location also amazing, located in Nyaung U, close to almost temples in Bagan, also close ...

Wut Hmon Thit is a great guest house with a friendly staff and management. It's located on the main road from Nyaung U to Old Bagan, and convenient to get to most of the surrounding temples. If you specifically ask for the "Myanmar Breakfast", that is an incredible meal with rice, and a few tasty local dishes, along with coffee. I highly recommend this guest house!

It's part of our honeymoon trip and Bagan Emerald hotel gave us their utmost service! Room was beautifully decorated and it's a big room too! We both love to stay there! It's very memorial. Just that we didn't stay there for long due to our other pre-planned honeymoon activities... if not, will definally stay there longer.. location - it is far far faaaaar from Bagan....

Very friendly and helpful staff, nice bedroom with ok wifi, rooftop nice simple buffet breakfast. You can rent an e-bike right in front of the guest house -very practical. I find at good distance of everything -visiting Bagan and the good restaurants of Nyaung-U.

This is a nice hotel, slightly overpriced but I think all the hotels are quite expensive in bagan. Rooms are quite small but clean, beds are hard but provided a good sleep. The staff are welcoming and helpful and helped us arrange taxis and trips. Please be aware though that this hotels is AGES out of nyaung u. It takes 30-40 minutes to walk there. We hired e bikes whi...

The hotel is located between Old Bagan and Nyaung U, which makes it convenient if you want to avoid the expensive hotels in Bagan and yet don't want to be too far away from most of the temples. It is easily reachable by bicycle from Old Bagan. Despite not being in the town centre, it is next to a couple of good restaurants. Hotel overall is comfortable, staff was he...

As there was not yet any published reviews about this hotel, I felt obliged to write one up after the three nights spent there. First things first. The location of the hotel is its major advantage and disadvantage at the same time. It is located right next to the Highway bus station and also not far from the airport. The long haul overnight busses stop here early in th...

The manager is great English speaker and very caring. He always greet guests whenenver they come and go the front gate. Rest of the staffs try to keep smile on their face and are very polite. I can not eat Gluten or msg and Shwe the Manager went to the local market and prepared an excellent gluten free breakfast for me every morning. She really works non-stop to make your stay a good one. Ranging from helping you plan your sightseeing for the day to booking your transportation for your next destination . Very comfortable bed. Room was super clean and ...

The staff is very friendly and careful for guests. They speak English well. The location is good, as it is in the residential area and not far from the town center. I also enjoyed a free bicycle, by which I could go around Bagan. Most of all I appreciate the best value for money.

- dirty rooms and dirty downstairs bathrooms (outside) - bathroom attached to dorm room was decent - GREAT location, 1 min walk to Main Street in Nyaung U with many restaurants and shops - ebike rental through hostel is more expensive than on Main Street - very NICE staff who are very chatty and friendly with guests - small lockers for valuables on main floor - some be...

Good location - just one street next to restaurants area and on the main road heading to Bagan temples Polite stuff, always tries to help Simple rooms but very clean Poor breakfast - oriented for asians Very noisy other guests - stayed during water festival and the hotel was full of burmese families Weak/broken room doors - could see through

i was looking for cheap private rooms avaiable and this was even cheaper then some dormitarys. However i was quite pleased, i stayed on the roof which was reasonable quiet compare to other areas. The bed was comftable, good AC, breakfast was ok, the shower was the best ive had in myamar, hot of course. I left clothes at the hotel which i had washed and the owner went...

Had a wonderful stay at the gold star. The hotel is set back from the main road so it is very peaceful and well located. The rooms are clean, the air con works well in addition to a fan and the beds are comfortable. But what really makes this hotel is the wonderful staff. Always willing to help and offer a smile. They really made it a pleasure to return to the hotel....

I am glad I chose this place. It's in a great location if you want to base your trip to Bagan in Nyaung-U. The staff were very helpful, too, and the room (bed) was comfortable. I probably owe them an apology! Some info is written up on a whiteboard in reception. When I was checking out I noticed breakfast times were later than I had thought - I am sure I was sitting,...

We had a double room. The breakfast area is large, food choices are ok. Staff is nice, helpful and English speaking. Unfortunately, Internet is only available in the lobby area. The cleanliness is not great, you'll see that a lot can be done there with some bleach and mild scrubbing. The bed sheets were clean, but the pillow themselves and the blanket smelled. I coul...

From the GH you can reach the citycenter of Nyaung U within ca. 5 minutes (by E-Scooter), so it is a little away from the trouble, surrounded by a lot of green so it’s a real quiet place. In the direct neighborhood you can rent E-Sooters. The staff spoke moderate english but was remarkebaly friendy. I got free water, tea and fruit each day and they arranged everything ...

The rooms are very spacious. The room itself is very clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful, and they smile a lot - truly experienced the Burmese hospitality. They serve variety of breakfast so you get more than what you paid for! Location wise, it's very near the viewing sites and the staff helped me with booking tuk-tuks to see the sunrise and sunsets. Not bad location, not far to the old Bagan, within 10 mins walk to Nyaung market. A pogonda in front of the hotel, view not bad. Simple breakfast ( bread, eggs, banana ) However, the staff really not nice at all, cold face always. Most unacceptable that, e-bike not good at all. Not recommended to vent e bike from the hotel.

Pros - big buffet breakfast, delicious rice. The rest of the food could be improved. Many flies around the butter and jam - very nice and helpful staff - you can rent electric scooters from reception, 8$ for a day 5 $ for half a day - good ac - convenient location close to the temples and on the main street of nyaung u with restaurants - comfy bed - quiet room...

The slow Internet connection was the only problem at Ever New. Other than that we had a very pleasant stay there for two nights after which we stayed at New Bagan for another two. The staff is very helpful. The manager, GG deserves a five-star rating himself. There's an awesome family run restarant called Bar-B-Q around the back of the guest house on a road parallel to...

The Guesthouse is on the main street and only a short ride from the river. The staff were very helpful, especially the young lad that was looking after reception and breakfast in the morning.
