Very nice stay”
Nice views from the rooftop. Also the dorms and facilities are modern and clean.
Great value hostel in asakusa”
This is my second time staying in this hostel. The hotel located near asakusa station (8-10 minutes walk) just across the bridge. There are convenience store around that opens 24 hr. 10 minute walks from sensoji area and the shopping and eating area in asakusa.
Everything is clean and order.”
Compared to other hostels near the subway, Oakhostel Fuji is in a farther location after you walk from the Asakusa station and pass through the bridge. However, it was actually an enjoyable moment for me to walk through the bridge with the breeze flipping through your face. Recommend you this hostel!
Overall it’s very good!”
The only (-) is it’s quite walk from/to Asakusa Subway (around 10 minutes) but that’s not really a problem for me :). - Shower room only on the1st floor, but it was okay for me since toilet at every floor. - Staff so friendly, i was able to early check-in. - U can leave your luggage and use the shower room during your check-out time. - Very comfy at 1st floor, u can eat here cz there’s kitchen set here, smoking area, laundry, and longue room. So u can chit chat with other traveler. - Comfy bedroom and they provide locker for us.
One of the most thoughtful hostel designs”
Super happy staying here. I lived in the female dormitory, which is a floor on its own. Showers and bathrooms are available on this floor. It's always clean. Shampoo, conditioner, body shampoo, oil cleansing wash, lotion and essence were provided. Huge lockers and good privacy (from the capsule-like layout). Love the groove in the wall that holds personal items. Lounge is very homey, and some ppl cook their own food there. Cons I could think of is, my bunk (217) was not facing the air-conditioning and it is warmer if it is not set to at least 21 Celsius. Someone felt it was too cold and would often switch it off or raise it to 25 Celsius, which made me wake up sweating. This is a guest issue; please request for extra blanket next time. Another comment is, it would be cleaner if all shoes are taken off at the entrance of 2nd floor, instead of in the shared room. Otherwise, this place would still be my first choice for Tokyo if I return.
Thank you for coming and kind comments! We will keep trying our best and to provide services you liked. We hope see you soon again!
Nice comfort place not far from Asakusa ”
Hostel is nice, clean and comfortable place to stay. The place is not far from Asakusa area and mrt but in the quiet area with good supermarket nearby, so good. Staffs were friendly and helpful and the roof top was nice to enjoy view and drinks.
Thank you for your stay at our hostel. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay and the rooftop area. Thank you for the great comments and, we are looking forward to seeing you again. Best regards. Oak Hostel Fuji Hajime
Not only inexpensive, clean, comfortable to other places, Fuji offers a Romantic Rooftop Terrace where you can have a great view of Tokyo Skytree day and night. I witnessed a French couple having a romantic breakfast. The only minor is walking distance --- 7 mins from Honjo Azumabasi or Asakusa, both on Toei Asakusa Line, convenient access to Narita and Haneda Airports.
Thank you for staying here and the nice comment. We are glad that you liked our hostel and the convenient location. Hope to see you soon again, and make some good memories. Oak Hostel Fuji
Good Place for travellers to meet”
Pros: Friendly Staff, Good Multicultural Ambience, Elevator, Big Storage Locker, Decent size bed with curtains, Rooftop terrace to chillout, Kitchen with free Tea & Coffee. restaurants & grocery store close by. Cons: Its quiet a walk from Asakusa Subway & if you have heavy luggage then its not great in terms of location as there are many intersections with traffic lights on way leading to the hostel. Also for some reason the hostel failed to show up of on offline maps which made it rather difficult to find. Getting there from the airport is not easy either as you have to change JR lines & Subway multiple times.
Good, though the common room ”
(Almost) perfect. Plus there's a FREE laundry (though dryer isn't, but it does help). Some notes: - Sometimes there were too many people in the common room - The sandals provided aren't used by most guests (maybe there's no information or the staffs need to educate the guests that shoes in the room aren't that nice/clean, esp according to JP standard) Thank you, one of the best hostels i've ever stayed in JP!
Far from station? ”
A lot of great views along Asakusa to the hostel such as Asahi building, Azumabashi and etc. Don’t worry about the distance! Some time slot no receptionist available. My bed and futon are quite aged and yellowish, no cover for the futon and you need to put cover for the pillow by yourself.
This place was so much fun and I've already booked an additional stay, the location is just across the bridge from a very active stretch of shops and a beautiful view of the river and renting a bike for 500 yen a day allowed me to cruise around the city easily. Very clean facilities, very polite staff who were helpful and the common area was bustling with interesting people to talk to. The rooftop view was breathtaking and they probably should be charging double what they are.

Great location. Very friendly and supportive staffs. Stayed there for 3 months. It felt like home. They have a kitchen with sugar, salt, oil. Very clean and well maintained. Warm and friendly atmosphere. Would love to come back.

What a great hostel! Very clean and well or organised. The staff is super friendly and the location is great. The bathroom has shampoo, conditioner, body soap, cottons to clean your face, lotions. Lovely common area with a kitchen. Bed was really comfortable and clean, with some privacy too. I highly recommend staying here, it's so worth it!! Reception is open untill 1am. My flight arrived late so I had to hurry but I made it so it's fine.

first dorm room experience at it was great”
it was my first time staying in a dorm room type accomodation. and it was beyond my expectation. the hostel was so clean, the staffs are so nice. they also has a quite good facilities, like vending machine, washing machine and dryer. the toilet was so clean. the location is around 10 minute walk from the subway station and 15 minute walk to kaminarimon gate. there was a convenience store nearby too that open 24 hr, such a recommended place.
Thank you for the great review Astari! We really appreciate it! Please come to visit us again soon! Have a good day!
Recommended to stay in this super clean hostel ”
Front desk Mr.Hiroki warm welcome make me feel comfort and feel like home to stay at this hostel. Plus advantage this hostel allowed check in before 1am, this make my last train available and manage to check in late night. Hostel super clean, equipments well maintained, even u could use kitchen facilities like frig and cooking facilities. Front desk have some guide book make u easy to travel around. Some small things is hostel common area light down after 1 am make some late night sleeper as me hard to continue to do my things. Second, lack of entertainment in common area, most of time are empty and lonely. Anyway，i feel happy to stay here and i love asakusa area.
Overall, this has been one of my favorite places to stay. It is in a great area, right next to the Asakusa and Ginza line, and the staff is beyond excellent. It is very homey and a great place to meet other backpackers and travelers. Rooftop is on point too!
a very nice hostel”
Advantages: 1. clean and big bathrooms 2. functional cook machines 3. free washing machine 4. rooms for female only 5. helpful and nice staff Disadvantages: 1. no convenient store nearby 2. no tourist spot nearby so no activities at night 3. a bit difficult to find the hostel at first The good things of course outweighs the bad things. Overall speaking, this is a very good hostel with high CP value.
Good option for reasonable price”
The only bad that happened to me was that I don't know if someone stole the food I had brought or if the staff thrown it thinking it was expired, anyway if you staying at the hostel try to label your food for avoid this situation.
Hostel was located a 10min walk away from the asakusa station, very little dining and entertainment options around the hostel. The shower area is only on the first floor which is a little inconvenient and the vents of the showers are covered with dust which looked like it had not been cleaned out for months. The staff shuts down the air-conditioning from 11am to 3pm which is fair as they need to open the windows to air the room. however, the staffs do not turn the Aircon back on after 3pm. I visited during the summer which was hot and humid. it did not help that after a long day of walking, the dorm room is at the same temperature as outside. I had to manually turn the Aircon on and wait for the room to cool, but sweating while doing so. Other hostels have air-conditioning on 24/7, hence, I'm disappointed with Oakhostel Fuji on this regard. I opted for the 12 room mixed domitary during my stay. I had a group of rowdy family check-in at 1AM. They created a lot of noise while unpacking and conversed loudly which roused me from my sleep. The walls were thin and only a curtain was used to provide privacy. I was tormented by snores and burps by the rowdy family after they settled in and could not get any rest until 3AM. I do not recommend opting for mixed dormitories in general for solo travelers as friends and families will opt for this option to bunk together. in my case, the family that came in conversed loudly late into the night and disrupted much needed rest for my early flight the next day.
Overall I’m satisfied!”
The hostel interior is nice, the facilities is great, staff is also friendly. The location of the hostel will takes about 10 minutes of walking to Asakusa station (ginza and asakusa line).
