Where to stay in Oakland
Oakland hotels & accommodations

This hotel is in an industrial section but don't let that stop you from booking. Rooms are exceptional, the staff is friendly and great food is just across the street at Black Bear Cafe. Only minutes from Oakland Airport make this a great place to stay.

We made the mistake of booming the America’s Best Value Inn about a mile away from downtown Oakland for two nights. It was easily the worst hotel experience of my life. Long story short, we cancelled that reservation after the first night and got a room at this hotel. It exceeded my expectations in every aspect and only costed and additional $50. Staff was friendly, am...

It would be better to pay more an stay in San Fran, we did not feel overly safe in Oakland, found a lot of noise from the roads and people beeping horns in the McDonalds across the road in the night, the room itself was nice but you had to go outside and cross over to get to the reception/breakfast where you would often encounter homeless people and generally made me f...

I stayed here for a week while working at Kaiser Oakland. It was about a 10 minute drive on the freeway, 15-20 minutes through town. Facility was clean, nice workout area. They were just beginning a remodel of the lobby during my stay, which in my opinion did not seem necessary. Room price was great, however $17 for parking each night is pretty steep. Breakfast buffet ...

Great service at bar and restaurant. .. Truck stolen from lot at night. No cameras working, no security on lot till after 11pm. Was planning to come back, but now gonna stay in a place with FULL gate and guard. Oakland has such a huge homeless and drug issue, be wary where you stay, eat and visit. Missing my truck and tools.

The first thing i noticed was that i started to wonder if i had the wrong address. Then i saw the building a secured and gated facility with one way in and out at night. Then i went inside and the tenent at the window was actually very nice, respectful and overall made us feel welcome. My gf used to manage big hotels in europe and she said he was very nice. We had gott...

This hotel is located next to the Oakland International Airport and has free shuttle service. The rooms and spacious and include a refrigerator. A microwave would have been nice. There is plenty of free parking for guests. The hotel is supposed to have Two Level 2 Electric Vehicle chargers, but one was missing and the other one occupied. The staff are very courteo...

If you are going to The Arena, I would recommend this hotel. Its super near to arena and near to their downtown too where there are cafes and other cafeteria. It also near to northface outlet shops and to a few tourist areas. However, room is a little dark and the walls are thin as you can still hear ppl walking upstairs during the night.

We were travelling as family/group For short memorial weekend getaway. We opted to get this hotel rather than staying in downtown sf since we were exploring downtown san francsico, napa/sonoma and meeting a friend in Antioch. Gives us a vantage point for our intended itinerary since it was in the centerpoint of all directions we were taking. Its just a 20-30minutes dri...

As in my previous review, I continue to appreciate the affordability of this place. I hope the City of Oakland, encourage and support "mom and pop"establishment like this so that, ordinary middle income earner will be expose and hopefully explore the beauty and diversity that the city offer. I used to lived in San Francisco and Marin and never thought of exploring Oakl...

All in all we were satisfied with this place. The only thing we didn't like about it was that we chose this place over others because it supposed to had breakfast in the price however there was no breakfast because the dining hall was under renovation. We didn't get any compensation for it. I wouldn't choose this place over any other that we were looking at again.

Agoda had not notified hotel we were coming and hotel had no record of any reservation. I called Agoda and Agoda took care of the problem. It was strange there was no communication between Agoda and the hotel until I called the hotel and they had no information on our reservation. Other than that, we had a great stay. Hotel was not close to full so there was no pro...

The place is good if visiting San Francisco and you do not want to stay at an expensive option. The place is close to BART station and takes you into downtown San Francisco in about 20 mins. Saves a ton of hassle finding parking and paying exorbitant parking fees. The staff is helpful and provided good tips. The breakfast was also decent with fulfilling options to st...

Some people describe neighborhood as sketchy, however most of Oakland is like this. The motel is just across the road from Lake Merritt and within 15 minutes walk from downtown on safe (by Oakland standards) streets. Everyone visiting should try a hike around the lake -- it is three miles, takes about 50 minutes and is a treat. Only walk during safe hours. The good...

The hotel is within 2-3 blocks of a grocery store, TMobile and AT&T stores, the subway, a couple of cafes, etc. Its location is just fantastic. We stayed here and visited San Francisco using the subway. The room was clean and large in size, with iron board, hair dryer, desk, sofa, etc. Overall, we recommend staying here!

Roach motel in an unsafe neighborhood in Oakland. Security is a joke. Staff upon check in had an attitude of course. Room stunk like cigarettes and mold. Stains and hair on the bed. No hot water! Terrible shower anyway. This place makes absolutely no effort to make you want to actually sleep in a room overnight. 1 star at best.

Good location with easy access to highway and airport. Since the room we booked is handicap accessiable room, it was a huge room (two king size bed). The breakfast is also well preapred (we paid extra $16 for my daughter as she is over 12 year old)

room was clean but small. very thin, small towels. no hair dryer or coffee maker - basic amenities. there was a small refrigerator in the room. good for family with small children or babies. area was quiet. there was no tv remote in the room - had to get it from the office. staff were very nice and helpful. basic room - but nice and clean. nothing special but great pri...

The room was big and comfortable, though alas it didn't smell good. Other than the smell and the general issues of a cheap hotel, it was quite good and close to attractions. The free shuttle on Broadway (M-F) was particularly helpful for getting around including access to BART.

1. They don't accept early check-ins. 2. The breakfast is a joke. It's a grab-and-go thing with very limited, very terrible range to choose. And it tastes bad. The breakfast is nothing or worse. 3. They don't clean the room, but it is self-service. That's okay. But the shower sucks. It takes a million years for the hot water and the hot water is not hot at all. 4. The ...
