This hotel is in an industrial section but don't let that stop you from booking. Rooms are exceptional, the staff is friendly and great food is just across the street at Black Bear Cafe. Only minutes from Oakland Airport make this a great place to stay.

I stayed here for a week while working at Kaiser Oakland. It was about a 10 minute drive on the freeway, 15-20 minutes through town. Facility was clean, nice workout area. Great service at bar and restaurant. .. Truck stolen from lot at night. No cameras working, no security on lot till after 11pm. Was planning to come back, but now gonna stay in a place with FULL gate and guard. Oakland has such a huge homeless and drug issue, be wary where you stay, eat and visit. Missing my truck and tools.

I found the value and the location best for me. The staff was hospitable and helpful. The surroundings and security insured a safety stay. I was surprised that it was quiet as well. I would happily stay again and trust the booking website.

If you are going to The Arena, I would recommend this hotel. Its super near to arena and near to their downtown too where there are cafes and other cafeteria. It also near to northface outlet shops and to a few tourist areas. However, room is a little dark and the walls are thin as you can still hear ppl walking upstairs during the night.

Came in late so not much time spent but room was very clean and nice. Asked the front desk for towels and never got them though.

All in all we were satisfied with this place. The only thing we didn't like about it was that we chose this place over others because it supposed to had breakfast in the price however there was no breakfast because the dining hall was under renovation. We didn't get any compensation for it. I wouldn't choose this place over any other that we were looking at again.

Clean,new and spacious rooms. Complimentary drinks were real treats for a nice hang out after a day out in the beautiful city. Even local friends who dropped by to pick us up were pleased with the condition of the hotel. Very satisfied customers.

Some people describe neighborhood as sketchy, however most of Oakland is like this. The motel is just across the road from Lake Merritt and within 15 minutes walk from downtown on safe (by Oakland standards) streets. The hotel is within 2-3 blocks of a grocery store, TMobile and AT&T stores, the subway, a couple of cafes, etc. Its location is just fantastic. We stayed here and visited San Francisco using the subway. The room was clean and large in size, with iron board, hair dryer, desk, sofa, etc. Overall, we recommend staying here!

I like the lake view. Every morning you can have a coffee and enjoy the nice view.

HS was perfectly located for us. Short walks to good food and the beautiful Crab Cove park. Two things that would improve the stay would be healthier choices at breakfast and a magnifying mirror in the bathroom. Lovely and helpful staff.

Roach motel in an unsafe neighborhood in Oakland. Security is a joke. Staff upon check in had an attitude of course. Room stunk like cigarettes and mold. Stains and hair on the bed. No hot water! Terrible shower anyway. This place makes absolutely no effort to make you want to actually sleep in a room overnight. 1 star at best.

Convenient location if you want a hotel in Oakland. Near Bart and freeway with parking onsite. No breakfast but very comfortable stay. Not noisy.

Good location with easy access to highway and airport. Since the room we booked is handicap accessiable room, it was a huge room (two king size bed). The breakfast is also well preapred (we paid extra $16 for my daughter as she is over 12 year old)

The rooms are clean, very modern and nice. Parking is $14 per day! Free Breakfast is awesome and Free coffee & tea is wonderful! Free internet in hotel. Good service!

Nice Hotel. Outside appearance doesn't do justice to it; very nice rooms that have been updated recently. Convenient to a number of restaurants and public transportation. 15 minutes from airport. Would stay again.
