My favourite place to stay in Port Stephens”
Always a pleasure to stay at the Oaks Pacific Blue resort. Third time there and still smiling. For those who haven't been, be warned.. you won't want to leave!! :) I personally think its worth paying extra to get a swimout room in the warmer seasons because its just a double bonus to jump into the lagoon pool straight from your back door! The lagoon pool is not heated (only the lap pool is) so its a bit too cold to jump in winter as I found out last week. I recently stayed in a two bdr swimout apartment which was a combination of a one bdr apartment and a studio. Loved it and the kitchen and living area was nice and spacious. The one bdr apartment includes a nice walk in robe style wardrobes leading to the ensite which includes a bathtub. Never-the-less I love this resort and I recommend it to all my friends and family.
Great resort hotel with spacious rooms”
oaks pacific blue is a good base for your stay in port stephens. not sure about public transport, but the hotel is a short drive away (10-20 mins) from most key sightseeing spots and activities. it is also right across a shopping mall - very convenient. the room was fantastic and great value for money (it seemed to be off peak period in port stephens during june / winter when we visited). if there was one minor flaw, it was the lack of complementary wifi in the hotel, but this seemed to be the norm in most hotels in nsw / sydney where we have visited.
Fantastic hotel in a good location”
My husband and I stayed at the Oaks Pacific Blue Hotel for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel was in a great location just minutes away from the beaches and town centre. The room was a great size and the furnitures were modern, tasteful and clean. The only negative was that all the towels were missing when we arrived and daily housekeeping was limited to towel changes. We thought this was unusual for a hotel. It was too cold to swim when we were in Port Stephens but the swimming pool looked fantastic. Overall, we were very happy with the hotel and would recommend it to others visiting the area.
A nice modern hotel with a gorgeous lagoon pool. Enjoyed staying at the Oaks Pacific Blue Resort, it has a gorgeous lagoon pool which is easily accessed from all rooms, it also has a spa and an indoor pool. The rooms are modern and clean. We were in Port Stephens for a triathlon and it was lovely coming back to the spa and a nice comfortable room. We were on the shady side which was a little cool given that it was late may so next time I would try and get a room on the sunny side. But it was one of the best value for money hotels I have stayed in.
Best getaway from Sydney”
Oaks Pacific Blue Resort was an absolute discovery for us. We drove from Sydney and it only took us 2 hours and 15 minutes - very easy drive. Then arrived to find a fabulous resort with great staff. Beautiful rooms and overlooking a little beach with the pool. Just an amazing resort for families and couples. We really enjoyed our stay and will definately go back again. Great rates as well.
A modern hotel, in good location, recommended for ”
regarding the price, honestly it’s not the most competitive. however, another blogger recommended this hotel, and pictures from him shown oak blue pacific was really modern & tidy. so we just take this. we arrived at the hotel at 12:30pm and asked the reception for early check-in. the reception refused to do so, due they said preparing the booking system. we were tried so just waited for check-in, and other couples still waited there too. location of the hotel is excellent, very close to shopping mall & restaurants in the town, and just takes approx 10 minutes by ride to port stephens. general speaking, good location & need to improve service quality.
Great location, fabulous rooms”
We had a perfect stay at The Oaks Pacific Blue Resort. The one bedroom swimout self contained apartment was simply gorgeous. After out workout in the gym and a swim in the lagoon we took full advantage of the spa in our room, sipping on cocktails from the bar there. The king size bed was so comfortable and upon waking we stepped out of our room right into the pool. I would not hesitate in staying here again or in recommending all of the above.
Totally exciting and full of activities”
A pity I only had a night at Oaks Pacific Blue hotel. The hotel is very nice, with a huge and comfortable room and great amenities around. The pool was big and well designed. The hotel is also in a good location, with Coles and restaurant just opposite the road.
Very nice hotel, well equipped facilities.”
We stayed over at oaks pacific blue hotel. Awesome hotel.. the highlight of the hotel was the swimming pool. If you stayed at ground level, you can basically open your back door and jump into the pool! Hotel was located conveniently next to the shopping mall.
Great, happy, friendly staff !!”
Hotel location was great for exploring Port Stephens. Very relaxed and calm hotel while I was there. Shopping centre a short walk away and bus stop directly outside hotel. Plenty of information for ideas on what to do and see in the reception area. If I was ever to visit Port Stephens in the future this hotel would be my first port of call.
We had a relaxing weekend at the Oaks Pacific Blue hotel. The room was spacious and clean. We had a room with a view of the pool, which created an atmosphere of relaxation and luxury. The bed was comfortable but it was two single beds put together not one queen bed. The heating worked well and kept the room a very nice temperature.
Relaxing, enjoyable ”
Excellent. We enjoyed the sights of Port Stephens and relaxed in comfort at the Oaks Pacific.
Wonderful to stay in a hotel surround by pool”
It's wonderful to stay at a resort where is very close to beaches! Specially there is a huge pool surround this resort! Great time at Port Stephens! And highly recommend to stay with them! Good customer service as well
Well, this is one of the best hotels at Port Stephens. We were so glad that we have chosen to stay at this Hotel. We will definitely stay there again the next time we visit Port Stephens.
We truly enjoyed our stay at Oaks Pacific Blue Hotel. Nice location, good service, overall highly recommended.
Very family friendly”
beautiful canal style swimming pool, 5 min drive to port stephens. the service was excellent. i was just inquiring about dolphins watching and staffs went ahead and helped me book the tour right the way! very efficient.
this hotel has 24hr reception which is wonderful as travellers choose to leave/arrive at not your standard hours, also wonderful that we able to have assistance when required. upon being greeted by very friendly staff, we headed to our room which was gorgeous! immaculately clean and all efforts were made to make this room amazing, bi-fold plantation shutters, leading out to a small private courtyard, stylish natural colour palette, and lovely artwork to co-ordinate interior. the bed was so comfortable- we'd been traveling for a few weeks and staying in various accommodation along the way- this huge bed was just heaven to sleep in! the kitchenette was modern, clean and contained everything needed for our short stay. strolling around the grounds of this resort was amazing, the pool went around the resort! absolutely stunning! the prices were so affordable too- i coloudnt believe the value! if this resort was closer to home i would stay there every weekend! loved it! highly recommended! a++++++++
Perfect place to get a tan! Awesome Pool!”
If your a city slicker like us, you may find Nelson Bay quite boring. Everything closes at 5pm latest and the limited restaurants close at 8 or 9pm. But! the scenery is beautiful and its a really relaxed atmosphere and a great place to escape to. Before i booked this hotel i did my research and Oaks Pacific Blue was the best rated with the major complaints being about house keeping/service so i wasnt surprised when our rooms weren't cleaned. After driving around Nelson Bay and having a look at the other resorts, Oaks Pacific Blue was the newest/cleanest so we knew we made the right choice and who could resist the pool! The rooms are air conditioned and there is cable tv (foxtel) on a 32" lcd. The swim out rooms looked really nice but they were booked out so we stayed upstairs which was still good. The pool is awesome and this place is pefect for a tan if the weather is nice to you. Only downside to the pool is the water is 90cm deep so no diving but i guess it great for kids...and there were lots of kids. The other disapointment was the Spa. There are only 2 and they are usually filled with kids/familys. When it was finally free we dared not to go in due the water colour being brown in both Spas...Awesome. The BIGGEST disapointment was the Azure Restaurant. Wow. What a shocker. We went in the morning for a "Continental Breakfast". We were the only people there and price was $10 per head which was surprising. Even more surprising when we noticed that the only food available were a few left over slices of bread, single serving boxed cereals and some canned fruit which was in a bowl. No wonder the place was empty. We looked at the pictures of the restaurant before we left and were looking forward to having all our meals there during our stay. Unfortuntely it was nothing like the pictures. Ive never felt so ripped off paying $10. For a Restaurant that has so much potential, even for non-guest to come and enjoy, its such a waste of space, Especiall
