Occidental Praha Hotel, formerly known as Barcelo Praha (hotel member of the Barceló Hotel Group and formerly called Barceló Praha), is located on the Na Strži near Prague's biggest shopping malls, only 15 minutes by metro from the Old Town. It offers free WiFi in the entire property. The house was renovated in 2016.
All air-conditioned rooms provide a flat-screen satellite TV, a work desk. Some rooms feature a minibar and coffee/tea making facilities. Guests of the Occidental Praha Hotel can enjoy the breakfast buffet as well as traditional Czech cuisine in one of the hotel’s restaurants. The Mediterraneo serves à la carte; the Atlantico is a buffet-restaurant. In the new lobby bar B Lounge, guests can enjoy a wide variety of wine, spirits and cigars.
The metro station Budejovicka is 300 m from the hotel, offering direct connection to the city centre. There, the National Museum, the Wenceslas Square and the famous Astronomical Clock can be found.
Guarded parking will be provided on request, charges are applicable. Public parking is possible for free.

Comfortable and Spacious Rooms”
The hotel is about a 20 minute ride on Metro Line C out from the city centre, and then a 10 minute walk from the Metro Station Budejovicka. However, cost isn't a factor as metro tickets can be purchased per 24 hours and it didn't seem like a long journey at all. The advantage is you are away from the noise of the city night life and you get a good-sized, comfortable room for your money. Getting to the hotel from the airport was relatively easy. If you don't want to take a taxi, you can take the Airport Express Bus which takes you to Muzeum (purchase tickets at Airport Information) and then you have to work your way to Metro Station Budejovicka, or you can buy the public transport 24 hr ticket and take the public bus No. 119 to Metro Station Nadrazi Veleslavin and head to Budejovicka. The 119 bus is a dedicated service from the airport to the metro station so you can't go wrong. There are a few shops and fast food restaurants by the metro station but the hotel is in a residential area
Brilliant location, helpful staff and cleanlines ”
A nice place to stay with a 1 min walk to the bus stop and 5mins walk to the metro. Helpful staff, 24hrs reception, decent room size, contemporary look.
Comfort, Value for Money but far from metro”
The room was wonderful with a superb king size bed! The showering facilities were good too as was the wifi connection. The only bad thing is that its quite far from the metro station either panckrac or budejovicka. But both metro stations lead straight to hlavni nadrazi and the city centre.
Slow check in process , rude staff ”
Should be miscommunication as i being charged for breakfast that I thought is inclusive in my booking. Never told in advance. Quite a distance from the nearest metro. 2pm onwards and still not mange to check in.

Room is very small with inconvenient bathroom and toilet. ”
Pros: clean and functional for solo business traveller Cons: room is too small for couples with very inconvenient setup of the bathroom. No doors or separators from the bedroom. Does it really need a bathtub? It just take too much space

The check in was delayed as reservations did not updating bookings. The room was not clean. The toilet seat had urine stains. For the duration of our stay the Room was tidied not cleaned. The bed was barely made nothing was cleaned. The dustbin was not emptied. On our first night we had no option but to eat at the hotel, that was the worst meal we had on our trip of 7 countries and the most expensive The hotel is a double metro ride away from the city centre, the surrounding area is not the nicest nor tourist friendly. I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone.

I was really impressed with the staff of the Occidental Praha. They knew my birthday without me telling them and brought me a cake on the day of. Also, I had left my ring in the room when I checked out, and they mailed it back to me. The only thing I would change is that they end breakfast really early in my opinion- 10:30 would be a nice cushion for holiday guests. And if you're looking for something super close to the center of town, this place a little further out.
Very Good Value, Excellent Hotel”
It was a lovely hotel, very clean. The staff were very accommodating and it was certainly good value for money. Situated 5 stops from the centre but only a 10min ride on the train. We had a very pleasant stay.
This hotel is a very good pick. It is not far from city center (only 4 stops by metro). The room standard was very good and yet not that expensive. In the room, there is an amazing bed and you will get very good sleep. I recommend this hotel.
Spacious rooms and helpful staff”
overall we enjoyed our stay at this hotel. the suite was clean and tidy and all staff we encountered were helpful and friendly. we stayed on a b&b basis and there was a good choice of food at breakfast and the bar also had a reasonable selection of snacks/meals, beverages and drinks. as this was in the business district it was slightly out of the centre of prague, but the metro service is excellent and only a short (5 min) walk away. longest wait at any metro station was less than 5 minutes.

This is my second time at this hotel because its location and very convenient for my plans in Prague. Hotel is showing its age and as I was told they are ready to perform some renovation and decor change. In any case rooms are still comfortable and clean. Breakfast has good selection of food so anyone should find something they like. Although not right next to the Metro stations it has two station few minutes away (or one bus stop). Also shopping center Arkady is short distance away.
Standard hotel with great breakfast!”
This hotel was really great for us after coming from hostels. It is very standard with very confortable beds, nice flat tv, great showers, all very clean. te breakfast is amazing. You have all kind of options which we also didn't have before I the other hostels so it was a luxury to find scramble eggs, with all kind of breads, meats, cheese and drinks. The location is not great but the tram was 10 minutes walk. Just be ready to take at least 20 to 30 minutes to comute to the downtown area. The service was great with Wifi included in the rooms. I really recommend this hotel but note that it's location is not near the touristic areas but for what you pay you get more value.
One of my favourite hotel, nice breakfast with varies choices. The room was clean and tidy, quite spacious. Convenient location, it just take less than 10 min to metro with a bank nearby. Staff are nice and fluent in english. Wifi is available but not very stable.

one of my favourite places i have ever stayed, the rooms were clean and beautifully presented. room was left in a beautiful state each day of my stay. the dining hall present beautiful buffet dinners at very little cost. centrally located to all amenities, this was a very pleasnat place to vist. be advised only take as much money as you can afford to lose out, i was pickpocketted but fortunately only had 5 euro on my person.

Barcelo Hotel was great. The staff was friendly and helpful. We also really enjoyed our hotel room, it was clean and had a good view of the city. The buffet food at the restaurant was incredibly good and so cheap - for 9 euros you have a full dinner buffet. Not to mention that the breakfast buffet was free. I would highly recommend this hotel
Cleaning can be improved”
The room is spacious and looks clean, but actually not. The day I checked in I found there are some hairs on the bed and in the bathroom as well, obviously the cleaning is not completely done. What was more, I have put the card (change of sheet and quilt) on the bed but during my stay (I slept for 4 nights), they never changed it. (Why I know? coz there was a small stain on the quilt the first day I went in to the room. That’s also the reason I asked for change). Also, the cup I used was only cleaned on the first day, on the second and third day, it just simply leave in the room without cleaning... The bath gel and shampoo have not been refilled and I need to call up to the reception for refill as well... Don’t think I will stay in this hotel next time.
