This comfortable and high-class resort really stands out in two areas that you are sure to appreciate - great service and great food. The restaurant menu at Okuma Private Beach & Resort and the chef are above average for even the finest of hotels. Breakfast is included as a courtesy, but if you get a chance, do try the seafood and you won't be disappointed. The papaya salad is also a worthy and delectable house specialty, fresh from the grove! Service at Okuma Private Beach & Resort is friendly and warm, just what you want when vacationing. The staff speaks English well, so communication will be a breeze. The perfect place to enjoy Okinawa's world famous perfect temperatures and beautiful marine life is right here at Okuma Private Beach & Resort.

to most honest, if it is a resort, the facilities offer/open are not to standard or I should say are limited. the pool is not open maybe due to the month of December.... and there is no gym room. The food offers at the lounge are very very few, only a few dishes of snacks indeed, but drinks are alright!
Pleasant resort and surroundings but poor wi-fi”
The exterior of the resort looks a bit tired but the rooms are fine, although the bathroom a bit old. Nice beach but as it was Winter, did not really use. Staff spoke reasonable amount of English. Breakfast buffet very busy, and good choice of local food available plus some Western items. Ate in the Japanese restaurant which had good food, although very noisy with lots of babies crying, despite being 8pm, plus it had very harsh lighting which detracted from the experience. Unable to lend us a multi-country adapter as we had omitted to pack one. Wi-fi very poor in room but better at breakfast restaurant. TV had just a few Japanese stations.
Relaxing resort ”
Pros: lovely beach, friendly staff, spacious room(palm cottage), free rental of bicycle(2 hours), small but clean n cozy spa, good spread of buffet breakfast. No wifi in room but a free usage Hp is provided. It can be brought out of hotel if you wish to explore surrounding area or for use to make local or international calls.
I like this resort despite it being on the pricey side. Rooms are a little outdated but the location and facilities are good enough to offset the negatives. Seems likt the resort has gone through some changes in ownership and whilst they are still trying to find their feet there will be shortfalls however the willingness of the staff to help should see this resort come through and become even better.
nice big hotel ,clean ,excellent staffs, everything perfect. Thumb up ,thanks.
Lovely hotel. The breakfast was amazing - huge selection, proteins, traditional Japanese breakfast items, fruit, wonderful baked goods. Even in the off season, the beach was lovely and made traveling around northern Okinawa easy. Would stay there again for sure.
This is a relax resort, staffs are friendly, always willing to offer help and cheerful. Buffet breakfast is excellent, lots of choices of food. Place is great, lots of trees, beautiful private beach, church.
Good place to stay”
We have our wedding ceremony in Okuma Chapel, we spent a great night there. Staffs were helpful and reasonable to offer free upgrade to Garden Villa & late check out to us. Appreciate of their effort
The hotel is located at the north of Okinawa Island. Makes it quite feasible for visit at Cape Hedo and aquarium as well. Amenities at the hotel is good as well. ECO Museum also provided painting activity and we enjoyed it.
Second time to JAL resort Okuma!”
It's my second time to JAL resort Okuma, I love the beach nearby, spacious and nice room, great location to the north (As I travelled to Cape Hedo, the most north point of Okinawa). There was some misunderstanding when we checked it. I have booked two rooms for four people via Agoda, but the hotel could only see two rooms for two people from their own confirmation email. Luckily the hotel staffs are nice enough to help us with the arrangement. I suggested Agoda to look into this problem and avoid confusion, as it may jeopardise the trust between customers and the hotel.
We visited Okinawa at the beginning of Mar and stayed one night at the JAL Okuma Private Resort. Since we did not drive in Okinawa, it took us some time to get to the destination. But when we arrived, we were attracted to this beautiful resort. The nice flower decorated lobby pathway and the beach that is located right opposite to the resort. We enjoyed the resort although the weather was not very nice. Room is spacious and love the balcony design. Friendly staffs and awesome beach. We have a dinner at the little restaurant on the 2nd floor which serves traditional Okinawa cuisine, followed by a sauna. The next day, we rented a bike and toured around the beach area. It was a short journey but we have a very nice retreat time. Thank you for the great hospitality.
Great place for a few days of relax”
We spent 3 days at the facility. Everything was clearly built in the 80s (40th anniversary this year... 1978, actually!), and hardly renovated. But this is part of the charme, I guess? Breakfast was good and rich, and plenty of things to do. The sea was not great (water a bit turbid, but that is maybe the time of the year? I would also recommend exploring the restaurants around the resort (not many!), yummy and very affordable. Plenty of families with very young children!
Huge and beautiful resort ”
Parking was rather far away for us staying at the main cottage. The resort is beautiful and they have a private beach just opposite the resort. They have van and carts to shuttle you to your room if you request for it. Our room was a little small for 4 of us but it was clean and everything was working well. We enjoyed the spa and sauna (opens at 3PM-11PM). The pool closes rather early at 1800 but it seems to be the norm in Okinawa. Water activities were quite expensive.
Very good and "private" resort”
If you rent a car, the location of resort will not be any problem. However, if you did not consider any rent-a-car, chatered taxi service costs 18000 yen (6 hours) from Naha city. The most benefit of this resort is to provide good sauna system which is really almost same with Korea's and it provides you a private reliefs with beaches and other things to enjoy. But they commonly speak Japanese only and most of the notices are written as Japanese too. However, they were kind enough for us to be parted in their resorts during our stay. 95 out of 100, this is my conclusion and I will use this resort in July 2018.
Re: Bicycle for Guests”
If the resort can setting some points have the bicycle, it will more easy for guests. Because calling the car and golf car are wasting time.
The beach is beautiful”
The rooms were a good size but the furniture needs to be updated and the beds were not comfortable
The room offered to us in that wing was shabby and old.
