Where to stay in Old Quarter
Old Quarter hotels & accommodations

Our stay at Spring Flower Hotel was comfortable and completely transformative from the chaotic old quarter Hanoi streets right on the other side of the entrance doors. Located in old quarter, it is very walkable but is surrounded by a lot of hustle and bustle. The hotel itself was clean, quaint and quiet. The included breakfast service was a delight. The highlight of o...

There are a few La Siesta Hotels in Hanoi, we stayed at La Siesta on Ma May street for 3 nights in a Deluxe Double Room. The service started from the minute we were met at the airport and driven to the hotel in the EHG Airport Transfer. The staffs attentiveness and eagerness to ensure you are well informed and taken care of is felt the moment you enter the hotel, from...

Great value for money ... boutique hotel in old quarter near all action. “ Lily adds value to the hotel having fluent English and a wealth of information.” Hiring a free university walking guide on line to guide you through the old and French quarters is well worth it.. We did it on two separate mornings and they really enjoy the experience and tip... Few pitfalls ...

We were a couple that stayed at the luxurious Terrace Suite. The room was spacious with a corner balcony overlooking a beautiful corner in the Old Quarter. The location is excellent with many of the local favourited restaurants very close by. It was just a block from the overly busy bia intersection and closer to the local markets incl Dong Xuan. We stayed there on a S...

Found this hotel on Agoda. Looking for something in Old Quarter within a price range. Saw this new hotel that had a few 5 star ratings. Emails back and forth were prompt after booking regarding airport transfer. We were greeted warmly by the staff upon arrival. We were a few hours early and did not request early check in. They accommodated us very well, which was appre...

Great little hotel in the Old Quarter. Hotel and rooms are clean and its situated in a great location within walking distance to the lake, eateries and sites. Service was excellent. By far the best service we have experienced during our 2 week travels of Vietnam. Breakfast is basic but adequate. Bed is comfortable and shower has good water pressure and hot water works ...

Excellent new hotel in old quarter. The staff especially Ms. Cynthia were the best I have ever come across in 7 years of Agoda.com reviews. They even all came out to wave us goodbye at the end of our stay. And a bottle of wine in celebration of our anniversary. The breakfast area is quite small but they rang us when a table became free after five minutes.

This was easily the best hotel I stayed in during my four week trip throughout Asia. This was also the cheapest hotel I stayed in during my trip throughout Asia, so value for money was incredible! Upon arrival we realised we had only booked a room for one person but that was no problem they upgraded us free of charge to a bigger room. The staff here are incredible and ...

It was one of the most pleasant stay with the friendly staff always making sure all your needs are quickly taken care of. They will help out in everything you need such as air port transfer, tour arrangement and advise on shopping and eating. Really hard working staff committed to making sure you had a pleasant stay. The strategic location of the hotel right in the most...

This was by far the best hotel we've stayed in to date. We arrived for our stay in Hanoi exhausted after 18 hours of flight. We were warmly welcomed by the staff. The location was perfect, just 2 mins away from the Hoan Kiem Lake. We could walk around the Old Quarter to discover lots of attractive destination without getting a taxi. This could save us a lot of money al...

You can't go wrong with this place. If you are looking for a similar budget hotel in Old Quarter, don't think twice, this is your place. I've been in several hotels with same budget but this one so far the best choice, spacious room (normally room in Old Quarter is always tiny), nice and clean, and especially the service that I was really impressed upon arrival. Recept...

Stayed at 2 different hotels in Old Quarter and Hanoi Era was everything we wanted. It's a new hotel with AMAZING STAFF mostly graduates and uni students; they speak good English. GREAT location. Just GREAT. It's really close to the lake, water puppet theatre, night market and night life. Very good breakfast. Don't under estimate their small dining area. There's buffet...

We stayed for a day at this wonderful hotel for a day before we went on Halong Bay Cruise. Staff was very helpful guiding us to nearby places to visit.Would like to heartily thank Jenny and Rose again for their advise. Its the personal attention provided to individual guest which makes hotel a great stay.Located centrally in Old Quarter, all attractions are nearby. They ...

I would say it's a good choice for budget traveller as the bus stop to NoiBai Airport is juz around the corner (2 minutes walking distance). Room facilities are superb, juz having a slightly complicated TV control system (compared to the rest of my Hanoi Exp). Walking distance to the Hottest Area in Old Quarter (but not in the middle of it - as it will be too messy). T...

The hotel is in a good location, close to the lake. The walk to the old quarter is about 10mins where the nightlife is busy with bars, clubs, and restaurants. On checkin they gave me a room with no window and 2 twin beds, which was not what I had booked. Reception changed my room when I asked them to. Room was clean and a good standard. The hotel has a sky bar, which w...

If I could give the staff and spa 6 stars I would. It’s a beautiful boutique hotel, nicely located in old quarter. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Great roof top restaurant/bar that over looks nearby lake and old quarter. The spa is the best I’ve found in all Hanoi even compared to other 5 star hotels I stayed in. Most valuable are the staff. They helped me...

We had a wonderful stay on 8th April 2018 at Luxury Old Quarter hotel. I felt so blessed to choose this hotel because the street outside this hotel focus on sales of sewing materials. It was a good time to replenish my sewing stuffs like lockstitch machine’s threads, zips and buttons. For fabrics and only can go to Dong Xuan market. It is within walking distance f...

They were the best in accommodating our travel itinerary, which involved us checking in and out 3 times in our 9 days in North Vietnam. When we had to take the overnight train to Sapa, they provided us towels to shower after checking out. We were also able to leave our luggage with them and travel light to Sapa. Similarly, when we arrived back from Sapa after another...

Me and my partner ended up staying at New Vision hotel in Hanoi old quarter as we didn’t like the hotel we actually planned to stay in so we book this place last minute! Upon arrive the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming, giving us a seat and fruit and a drink whilst they gave us a map of Hanoi and recommendations of where to go! We wanted to do a trip to ha long ...

We chose to stay in Skyline hotel in Old Quarter based on the great reviews we read, and we were so glad we did! We loved this hotel, which was more like a boutique hotel and located right in the Old Quarter. The room was new, clean and well decorated. The staff was absolutely amazing! Unfailingly friendly, helpful and willingly went out of their way to help us out. Th...

Excellent location, very clean rooms, good WiFi, outstanding breakfast and laundry service, a super friendly, thoughtful and helpful staff. Overall it exceeded our expectations and made our time in Hanoi memorable. Highly recommended this hotel. We spent 5 days in Hanoi in mid December and initially booked just two nights at La Storia Ruby but quickly decided to exten...

We were greeted with warm welcome & lemon drink. Rooms were as described and very comfortable. We asked for 2 rooms close together and were provided with this. Breakfast very good - plenty of choice of hot and cold food. Had a problem with domestic flight times changing - reception staff sorted everything out for us. Had first night in Hanoi in this hotel. Then went on...

The staff are so welcoming especially Steve. He made sure that we are well taken care of. He even came to other hotel where we had our spa treatment to bid us goodbye. Breakfast was included in our booking but to my surprise they charge for latte... You can get unlimited brewed coffee with milk though. Couldn't say anything about the location because it's close to some...

Hotel service was amazing from beginning to end. It is in the perfect location in Old Quarter. We were offered a snack and fresh fruit juice upon arrival as well as "tourist" instructions on how to cross the street in Hanoi,I noticed that they make it a point to learn all of their guests' names which makes it more personal. The breakfast is a good combination of both V...

This hotel exceeded my expectations and made my stay very pleasant! The hotel's location is centralised, within walking distance to Hoan Kiem Lake, beer crossing, shopping streets and night market, and several attractions in Old Quarter. It’s our first time in Hanoi and we choose JM Marvel. It’s fairly new hotel . Room are small but please understand there no large size rooms in Old Quarters. Breakfast were simple and yummy. This was the 1st trip to Vietnam for my wife and I visiting our adult son who teaches English in Hanoi. We chose Damsels based upon it's location in Old Quarter, the price range we wanted to spend, and +9 reviews. We made a fantastic choice! I would give 5 Stars to every aspect of this hotel. But most important was the service we received from Mary and her staff. She h...
Cheap places to stay in Old Quarter

I was looking an affordable but a comfortable stay in Hanoi near the old quarter thru Agoda.com, thiS hostel captivates my attention and I booked. The staff was very kind and entertaining. The cleanliness exceeded my expectation when I witnesses their bunk beds with curtains to maintain privacy. They have their own sockekst and bulb light which is considering an awesom...

The best place to stay in center of Hanói, located exactly in the center of Old Quarter, but away from the noise, everything was super clean, the doms are bunker, with privacity, light, etc.. They provide towels, gel, toothbrush ☺️.. The free breakfast it's the best in town, clean, eggs, sausage, fruits, etc 😋Had some issues with the noise of other guest, but it wasn'...

This location of this hostel is strategic, near from Hoan Kiem Lake, St. Paulus and the only one mosque in Hanoi. It was very help me, because you can still keep your praying and you can find Halalan food near this mosque.. The staff is awesome and humble. They helped me to booked the Taxi from hostel to Airport...

This place is a great little find right in the heart of the action in the Old Quarter of Hanoi. Get the stay with breakfast options, it's well worth it and cooked to order. Staff is very friendly, but will give you your space if you like. So say hello to them, and they will quickly be amazing friends and advisors for you. Beds are non-squeaky, soft and have plush com...

We stayed at art trendy hotel for one night prior to going to our cruise at halong bay. Hotel is located in a quiet street in the Old quarter area. Room is nice for a 3 star hotel. Breakfast is good. What truly stands out is their service. I would like to mention staff who really impressed us with their service. We left our baggage and came back to the hotel two days l...

I stayed in a mixed dorm with my partner which was extremely clean. The western staff is Steve gave me all the advice i needed to travel vietnam and booked me my Halong bay tour 2 days and bus ticket to Sapa and even assisted me in buying a motorbike!...They offer free beer from 6-7pm at the lobby ( Jungle Bar ). The staffs is always ready to assist with any questions ...

My second time at Evergreen, and just as good as the first! The staff are so welcoming, speak great English, and do not hassle you to book tours. But rest assured, any question you have will receive a thoughtful, knowledgeable answer. Chatting with other guests, they only had good things to say about the tours they had booked via Evergreen to Halong Bay etc. Thanks to...

Hotel location in the heart of Ha noi Old Quarter, so can walking around the old town and walk to the Hoan Kiem Lake very close and also very close to Dong Xuan Maket and Ho Tay. The hotel has great space , breakfast you can choose chicken noodle, fried rice, or butter egg bread, pancake, coffee., tea,,,, with enthusiastic and hardworking staff of Nam’s name and other...

This is the first time I stayed in a hostel in Vietnam. And that didn't let me down. Nice room, nice staff and good service. Located in Old Quarter, this hostel can take you every corner on foot. There was a thing that I felt annoyed as staff came into room to change bed cover at noon. They spoke so loud, and didn't care my presence. It would be much better if they...

First, I need to start with how surprised I am by this place! I booked this with very little expectation & actually stayed here just for a short while before heading out. However, the room’s cleanliness was 👍🏽 I stayed on the 5th floor (no lifts people in case you are carrying heavy luggage- you may want to rethink it). The room had 4 beds (female, shared), it looked...

Daisy hostel is a small hostel in comparison to others in Hanoi, but I think that adds to its charm. The owner, Daisy, goes above and beyond to make sure you have your needs met during your stay. She really took the stress out of my trip to Vietnam, by suggesting places to go, booking transport and extending my visa. She is such a kind and friendly person and makes you...

Location is central in Hanoi Old Quarter, easy access to tourist attractions e.g. Hoam Kiem Lake, St. Joseph's cathedral, Hanoi Opera House, etc. The entrance of the hostel itself is a bar where you get to enjoy good drinks and food in the evening. But due to the crowd it gets noisy at night even after 12am. Overall I would recommend this place for backpackers consider...

Pros... Nice and wide bed Reasonable price Choices for breakfast Bathroom inside the room Cons... Staff are like streetguys. You would arrive at night and would find them shirts off and drinking outside the hostel leaving the reception area unartended. The two receptionist guys aren't polite at all!...I complained about the broken exhaust fan and never had it fixed 't...

We enjoyed staying at the hotel. It was easy to get from the Hanoi Airport to the hotel in the Old Quarters by bus (every 30 mins for VND30k) We found many delicious street food close by. Within short walking distance to attractions. Good breakfast. Well maintained hotel and friendly staff. Shop around for tour packages. The hotel charges more for the same tours, like ...

We had multiple hostel booking in our Vietnam trip. We liked everything about this hostel except that they didn't have a locked locker in the rooms. If you are not carrying a lock and key yourself, then your things are actually not safe there. But apart from that, the staffs, the breakfast, the beer party in the evening everything was super cool.

A fantastic hostel, perfectly located in the centre of the old quarter and convenient for bars, restaurants, shops etc. The free breakfast is great, with an excellent choice of more than the usual bread and butter! Dorms are clean with individual privacy curtains, electricity sockets and lights. And best of all?!? The staff, who are fantastically welcoming and helpful....

I stayed triple room with friends. Market also close by so we can ate manggo everyday. I hope to stay here again if i have chance to go.

Value for money: Less than USD8 a night. Location: In Old Quarter, 5 min walk to the central park. Cleanliness: Very clean, both room and shower. Staff: Lovely staffs, willing to help anytime. Facilities: WiFi works well, nice interior, has Everything as stated.

Great location in Old Quarter, friendly and welcoming owner who takes personal interest in the running of affairs, good wholesome breakfast free, free fresh beer at happy hours for guests. There is a gym on the top floor for those who need daily exercise. There is an elevator so no need to worry about heavy bags. A good place to rest while in Hanoi

Pro's: -Friendly staff willing to help with any requests regarding travel, the hostel, the city, etc. -Rooms are quiet despite the noise of Hanoi's Old Quarter; comfortable beds/bedding/pillows. -Great free breakfast with many options, cheap drinks available in the lobby all day as well. -Many resources for backpackers/travelers. We travel to Hanoi once a month on average and typically stay at a five star hotel on the lake. This was the first time we stayed at the Essence d'Orient Hotel and Spa and it will be the hotel we stay at from now on. We had a better experience here than at the five star hotel and at more than half the price and a much better location. What a great experience at this...

This boutique hotel is well-located at the centre of action in the Old Quarter, almost an oasis of calm surrounded by the hustle and bustle of inner city street life that is Old Quarter Hanoi. You are within moments of stepping out of the hotel in the busy shopping streets around Hoàn Kiếm Lake, with all the sounds, sights and smells of a unique historical city in Asi...

Out of all the hotels I have been to, Sapa, Cat-Ba Island, Hoi An, this hotel has been the absolute best. It is located right in the Old Quarter, within walking distance to all the best spots. They also have bikes for rent if you want to venture further without relying on taxis. This review will be a bit long but let me start from the beginning. We flew from BKK to H...

We stayed at Allure Hotel for 3 nights recently. It is in a busy area of Hanoi's Old Quarter but was in a quiet part of the street. With double glazing to all the windows we were never troubled by outside noise. The Front desk Staff are very helpful and friendly. The Room is a nice size with a local view down the small street, which is always interesting. Good Bed, gr...

Very nice interior. Conveniently located in Old Quarter area. Short walk from Hoan Kiem lake. Nice food places in the area include Banh Mi 25, Highlands Coffee and Fanny Ice cream. Night market is also about 2 streets away. Tip: don't buy north face, kanken n other branded stuff there as they are likely overpriced. Buy from shops instead. Bought a north face gortex ja...

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for just one night on the way to Halong Bay the next day. The staff was extremely friendly, calm and helpful! Overall: the hotel reception welcomes you a...

My family of four had a wonderful stay in Noble Boutique Hotel for four nights! The room we stayed is a connecting room for 4 people with attached balcony, very clean and comfortable, worth more than what you've paid for. This hotel is situated at a very strategic location in Old Quarter. Hoan Kiem lake, water puppet show and St Joseph Cathedral are near, just around t...

Superb. We stayed here on and off for a total of 7 days during the period from end June to beginning July. The staff was the most kind and professional of all our stays in Vietnam. Customer care certainly deserves their title for the reception staff helped us with everything from offering breakfast when we arrived early the first day, reminding us of afternoon tea time...

Our stay at Hanoi Delano was the best hotel experience we have ever had - this was mostly due to the superb customer service by all the lovely staff. We just could not thank Lucy, Ana, and Jack enough for all the help that they have kindly offered us throughout our stay. We loved seing their friendly smiles every morning, afternoon and evening. They became more like fr...

Stayed here for 4D3N in Sep 2016. When we first arrived, we were welcomed by Andy, he was patient in explaining the do's & dont's in Hanoi and answering to our questions. The location was excellent (night market is just at the doorstep & 3mins walk to Hoan Kiem Lake). The variety for breakfast buffet changes everyday & it was delicious (better than the street foods). We travelled in group for business trip and stayed at the Family room with balcony. Nice and responsible owner. He contacted me about the information and ways to arrive the airbnb. For the aspect of house, the cleanness of house can be improved. not having stayed in the middle of the old quarter before, were a little wary of the possibility of finding the noise and busyness disrupting and too full on, but found that the traffic and noise from the little street didn't disturb our privacy at all during the night, and lent a wonderful ambience to our room. the suite was perfect for three adults, clean and spaciou...
