My first experience travelling”
I really enjoyed my 5 night stay at Oldtown hostel and by the end did not want to leave. The staff are amazing, so friendly and helpful especially the main man on reception and the night security man (he was my favourite thing about this whole place-most wonderful accomadting and helpful person who is always friendly and smiling). Even though it's not in the centre of all the night life, its not far from anything you need I.e chinatown is a 10 min walk - which is nice because you get to walk around and see the area, the river pier to catch a river taxi is just a 2 min walk away where there is also a riverside mall with lots of shops and restaurants and on the doorstep is a 7/11 and plenty street food sellers, but the staff are also happy do arrange a food delivery to the hostel if you so like. All in all as a solo female traveller and this being my first experience of a hostel, let alone a hostel Thailand, I was more than impressed and I now have high expectations for future accommodation. Would definitely stay here again. P.s Forgot to mention they threw a Halloween party during my stay here and provided plenty free finger food and drink (alcohol included) and lots of games with very good prizes (a smartphone and a free nights accommodation were just to name a few) the staff dressed up and everyone got involved which was a really nice vibe and fun evening.

worth the stay”
Stayed a few nights and enjoyed it. Initially had trouble finding it but after I got there I enjoyed it (if you take transit, use Hua Lamphont MRT station, not Saphab Taskin). The staff were all young, helpful and spoke English. Room/Bathroom were clean and functional. A couple coin operated laundry and dryer machines which came in handy (cost about 50 baht for laundry + 25 for dryer to do a full load). A couple of restaurants in the area and a 7/11 just around the corner. Also, free coffee/tea and in the morning you could have a complimentary simple breakfast (toast, butter, jam, etc). The wifi was hit and miss. Staff said someone was coming in to repair it on the weekend. I heard from others a lot of other places were having wifi issues around the same time. I just used my cell service or the hostels computers. If you stay at Oldtown, learn the bangkok transport system. Subway, light rail, busses and water transport. It will save you a ton of cash and hassle if you want to get to get around the city. There is are bus stops right outside the hostel (6 baht one way), water transport 2 min walk (15 baht one way) and subway stop 5 min walk (cost depends on distance). I was able to make it to the airport for my flight from the hostel in just over an hour for under 70 baht compared to 300-400+ taxis and tuk tuk guys were saying.

Excellent Hostel”
Oldtown was my first ever hostel and it certainly set the bar for all subsequent hostels. Highlights: -The staff was SO friendly and helpful. They were careful to suggest different transportation routes to get to tourist areas (by boat/MRT) to protect me from spending too much on taxis -The common areas are furnished beautifully in a minimalist wood/industrial style -The facilities such as the bathrooms and common areas were constantly kept clean -The hostel was a 10 minute walk to: the MRT, Hua Lumphong Railway station, and a 3-5 minute walk to 7/11, street food, the piers, and a mall. If you walked south on Charoen Krung road, you would be in the heart of Bang Rak which is an awesome district for delicious food, open market stalls, and clothes. -I was a solo traveler and I stayed in two different rooms. The first was the girls-only room which I found a bit boring and quiet. The second was the Mixed 8 social where I found people were easier to talk to!

Great place!”
We loved our stay at Oldtown hostel! Booked a room which was really confortable and clean. The hostel itself seems fairly new and is well maintained. We really enjoyed being able to do our laundry on the spot and having access to a kitchen. Location wise, it is about 3 minutes walk from a pier which was really convenient.

Very nice hostel next to Chinatown with knowledgeable staff ”
Located 10min walk from the subway station and 25min from the closest shopping mall, Old Town hostel is a very nice place to put yourself once in Bangkok. The staff is ultra nice and very knowledgeable, they also organise trips and tours, plus you can ask them for anything and probably they will know the right answer. The only obstacle was to travel with my large suitcase from the subway but if you have a backpack, its not a big deal :)

Good place to stay away form city caious”
It was one of my best places I stayed in while traveling, comfortable beds, clean rooms, and bathrooms, but I think toilets and showers need a bit improvement, the day time staff was good but only one speaks very good english and he was not available always at the reception, the evening staff was great, the reception very nice and speaks perfect English, the night guard is a very nice man and kept us safe always, so safety is guaranteed is this hostel, the common area quiet big a nicely decorated and it's great place to chill, with a fridge a small kitchen it was perfect for me, when I am going back to Bangkok definitely I will stay there.

AWESOME!”
Win (not sure about the spelling), the receptionist, was very helpful. The staff during the night shift were nice as well. We booked for the couple room and it was really tidy and spacious. There's a kitchen in the lobby, so you can help yourself with light breakfast. The hostel in general was really good. I will definitely come back here when I travel to Bangkok again . :)

A nice hostel in Bangkok”
Nice and friendly staffs of Oldtown is the highlight I think. Besides, I love the lobby area, open and comfortable. Location is not good. From hostel we have to walk very far to go to Silom Rd, or Hua Lamphong station. But you can ask the staffs to explain how to go there by bus. If we open the door for 1 hour per day, the room could be less humid I think. Thats my opinion.

best hostel ever in the world”
Old Town Hostel is nicely brand new, neat, spacious and comfortable. You can have toasts, butter, tea and milk for free at any time. A microwave, toaster, electric kettle and fridge are always available in the dining space. each room is well air-conditioned (you can set the temperature), and the door is equipped with a card-key lock. You can enjoy billiards at 20THB per game in the common area. Reception staffs are friendly and respectful, and they speak English very well. The hostel locates in a 10 minute-walk distance from Hualampong Station which is the starting one of MRT(metro) as well as long-distance trains. If you go to Myanmar Embassy, a motorcycle taxi takes 5 minutes(50THB), or buses take 15-30 minutes. Take a bus(No.1) in the opposite side of the hostel, and change to No.77 at 'The Centre point Hotel' which has the Robinson Shopping Center on the ground floor. Then get off No.77 at 'the Saint Louis Hospital' which you will see on the right hand side soon after Surasak Station. From there, a 1-minute walk will take you to the embassy. Each bus charges 8THB.

Value for Money”
It was awesome. I like how clean the hostel was, and the pool tables with super fast internet connection. The staff at that time was also very helpful. It is very easy to locate and within 10 minutes walking distance from Hualamphong Train Station. If I ever go back to Bangkok, this will definitely be my place to stay.

Need more space!”
We booked 8 beds and have requested for one whole dorm to ourselves. The hostel replied to our email and assured us that they will make proper arrangement for that. However we did not get to stay in one dorm on the first night. When I inquired the receptionist she denied that they ever received any email regarding the request rudely. We then showed her the email yet she did not address us nicely. However another receptionist attended to us promptly and we shifted room on 2nd day. The room and toilets are clean and tidy. The room has very limited space for luggages. The hostel has a postbox where you can use their post services by paying 40 THB (including stamp + a postcard). Anyways there are plenty of postboxes along the road nearby. Hua Lamphong MRT station and Chinatown are just 10minutes walk away.

Old town, but new feel”
I only stayed the night as needed to be close to the train station to head to Ayutthaya. Hostel was great, clean, lots of different nationalities come together here. Washrooms very nice, wifi throughout... Great little cafe next door but joined through a door in the hostel, had great breakfast, amazing drinks and a damn fine cup of coffee. Couldn't fault this hostel, it was all I'd expect for the price, location, it is what it is, a place to get your head down and then get out and explore...!!!

Great place”
I stayed here a few times. I don't have anything bad to say about the place really! Bangkok is a bit of a disjointed city to me so whilst the location is not great for Khao San, it is pretty decent for being 1km from the main rail station Hua Lamphong to get out of Bangkok or 2 kms from the business city areas - reachable from Sam Yan station. You'll need to remember to add on taxi fares for night time from Khao San but the ferry is the best and cheapest and nicest way to get there during the day.

Affordable & quality service ”
Upon check-in, we realized that my companion left his wallet in the taxi we rode in to the hostel. The manager immediately helped us by lending his phone to contact the taxi driver and safekeeping the wallet when the driver returned it while we were touring the city. The family room we got was spacious and they provide bottled water for us daily. The common bathroom was clean and had hot water available if needed. If you have big luggage, you may need some extra help given that you have to take a flight of stairs to go to the sleeping rooms. In terms of location, the hostel is a block away from a nearby bus stop, a local 7-11 store & some restaurants, and some massage parlors.

Lovely 2 nights would definitely go back. Really friendly and helpful staff. ”
Pros: Amazing staff really went the extra mile to help you out. Help you book tours ect and suggested good places to visit. Basic rooms but have everything you'd need for a few nights in Bangkok. Would definitely recommend! Con: The wifi was rather slow at times but very minor issue.

AN AMAZING PLACE”
The trip is cool, the place is near both of BTS and MRT stations, very easy to go anywhere inside Bangkok. The room (even the dorm) is surprisingly good, the bathroom is kinda clean and the interior is so unique and nice. I definitely would choose this place to stay next time.

Excellent”
The staff are very helpful and friendly. The bathroom can be cleaner but it can be because some people leave their own toiletries there (soap & shampoo). The room is very spacious and the bed, very comfortable. The place is also near places of interest like Chinatown. Going to and from sites are also easy as there is a boat station (Marine Dept.) nearby, which is a great way to go to the old town of Bangkok (Grand Palace, Khao San Road, etc.). The nearest MRT station (Hua Lamphong) is also near and the train station too so I was easily able to go to other areas of Thailand i.e. Ayutthaya . All in all it was a great stay for me there.
