Great Hotel in great location”

Brilliant stay at Olympia Hotel. Staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming especially Uli on the front desk. Rooms spacious and the most comfortable Hotel bed and pillows I have found anywhere. Room well equipped with TV, fridge and tea/coffee making facilities - only thing missing hairdryer but they were available at front desk. Breakfast was excellent hot and cold choices and freshly cooked plus free drinks hot chocolate and water plus tray of doughnuts available free during the day/night (a very nice touch). Location is perfect with easy access to the promenade and beach. Loads of restaurants and bars within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice hotel close to Tel Aviv Promenade ”

The 1st plus is location just 100 m from the promenade, the second plus is breakfast food - typical Israeli and the 3rd is that you are close to everywhere

I really like Tel Aviv with its exposure to the sea, modernism in architecture and nice people who love dogs (with labradors as No 1, but be careful for dog's mines!). The city is relaxed, traffic acceptable, food options numerous, and perfect place for different sightseeings. Culture, history, architecture, culinary options, sea views and generally relaxation is something that you can expect there. The Hotel is a part of this package and good weather could create a very good option for a week vacation. We spend 7 nights at the hotel (me and my adult daughter, having 2 single rooms). Hotel is heavily used and somehow worn out but if you do not care about it too much it will not disturb your stay. The staff is OK (Hebrew and Russian) but definitely you need to have patience and not to be aggresively demanding on them. Kind repetition of requests work quite well. The longer you stay the better you are treated. In my opinion the standard resembels Motel 6, plus good Israeli breakfast plus perfect location. At the end the price is acceptable (we paid 65 USD per single use doubles). I highly reccomend this hotel not only for globtroters but for people who would spend one week in Tel Aviv.

Exceptional”

We had a fabulous experience. My husband and I travel a fair bit and we have stayed in anything from B andB’s to four season 5 star hotels. The hotel was perfectly located. The lobby had a great modern vibe and was a great place to sit. The front porch was also great and chairs and tables set up to look out. Breakfast was delicious and you could go to the side garden patio and eat outside. Although the rooms were smaller, everything you needed was there. Everything was spotless!!! Great hotel , would definitely go back.

Olympia a good stay”

Location. Clean. Free WiFi in Lobby. Relatively inexpensive.
I've arrived before 12:00 p.m. and had to wait until after noon to check into room. They have a published check-in time, I know, but it would be good to be able to check in before noon.

I discovered a bizarre phone charge when I checked out -- for one phone call lasting supposedly for 6.5 hours. The hotel promises to refund the $180 USD charged -- I'll be interested to see if it is cleared up. I appreciate that hotel staff allows you to leave luggage in a safely locked room if you arrive before check-in time and want to wander outside the hotel.

Olympia Hotel Summer 2010 Visit ”

Excellent location. Close to the beach and boardwalk. Walking distance from Dizengoff street - the shopping district.
Parking fee needed. Internet access available only in the lobby.

Excellent location, just need to cross the street to reach the boardwalk. Walking distance from restaurants, pubs and the shopping district. Reasonably clean and comfortable rooms, good breakfast included. Local staff is good during the day but not so friendly during evening / night shifts. Parking lot, right next to the hotel, costs about $7 per day.

You get what you pay for. Great! ”

It's right around a pole dancing establishment - which wasn't an issue. However, one other guest assumed my mother and aunt were "working girls". It was a great insult - but nothing the hotel could hinder. Just be mindful of that, especially if your skin color is just a little darker than Middle Eastern. Otherwise, the breakfast and friendly staff made everything wonderful.

Nice location”

Nice location. Good quality bed sheets. Clean.

The location was great, 1min walk to the beach. The breakfast is so so, everyday the same thing. After 5 days of eating the same stuff every morning, I couldn't bear it anymore and went to a local restaurant for breakfast. The bed and bathroom are clean. It was under refurbishment so I was waken up by the drilling on the 2nd floor every morning. The lounge is clean, staff friendly.

Tel Aviv on the beach”

Location and very reasonable rate.
Much, too much smoking in hotel. Each floor had one non-smoking room but smoke permeated the halls and stairwells. Breakfast mediocre. Very few English-speaking guests; Russians predominated.

Wonderful location - near many buslines and famous streets filled with restaurents, shopping plus the beach and promenade are across the street. Disappointed that I met very few guests to talk to at breakfast since most spoke Russian. Kitchen staff was helpful and stored my soy milk in their refrigerator. All in all, definitely worth the price.

Very nice, clean. Very well kept. Great breakfast. Most staff speak English. Extra bed brought and removed immediately. Room was not ready so they gave us extended check out with no problem Only problem is they didn't tell us cabs charge extra for luggage and had a problem because we only had exact amount for cab that they got for us Learned that waitresses and cleaning people work with tips. They don't tip cab drivers in Israel

Abundant disorganization and overall disappointed”

There are good and bad parts to this hotel. The good: the rooms are clean, breakfast is adequate (though could use some fresh fruit/vegetables), and location is good although you are not coming here for views... The not so good: rooms are tiny. If all you are doing here is sleeping, it's fine but its really a queen bed with 2 feet of space on 3 sides. The really annoying and frustrating is the lack of organization and communication between the staff. It really seems like they need more training or at least more consistent training and better communication. Other things that were frustrating were things like inconsistent stocking of the bathroom. When we first checked in - we had no toilet paper. Other days we would be missing a bath mat or towels. Its small but these are the types of inconveniences that are really silly and just shouldn't happen. Also, if you are a winter traveler - the hotel is heated to very high temperatures. There is no way to set the air to cool. The only way to cool the room is to shut off the air and open the window. The problem with this is that the huge window then winds up being half over the bed and across half the room and because the hotel is on a large road it is incredibly noisy! Overall disappointed and will not be coming back here.
