Wonderful Ryokan experience with very attentiive host”
Anyone travelling to Japan should at the very least, experience an onsen ryokan at least once. I highly recommend Onsen Ryokan Yasakaso. Location is away from the main town of Hakone (a good thing) and a quick bus ride away from the main train station. Walking to town is also only a pleasant 20 minutes away. From the moment we got to the ryokan, everyone is pleasant and helpful. Our hostess, Tomo (hope we got her name correctly spelt) was wonderful and patiently answered all our questions. Each of the meals were beautifully presented. Of course, what is an Onsen Ryokan if there is no hot springs bath. For the shy ones, the hot springs bath were divided into communal female and communal male. For the not so shy, there is an outdoor mixed gender bath. The hot springs baths are definitely worth experiencing. It's especially relaxing after a full day of playing tourists.

Exceptional”
The staff at the Yusafaso are very helpful and kind. One of our group let her phone in the nearby town and did not realize it until we checked in - the staff member (the son of the owners) drove us into town right away to help look for the phone. The willingness to help us was exceptional. While the Ryokan is not the immediate town area, it is easily accessible by taxi from the rail station at a modest price for the fare. There is also a free shuttle bus that drops off customers at the Ryokans in the area including the Yusakaso. There is a separate regional bus that goes to the Lake Ashii area. So, while the location is not in the immediate town area, our family/group was impressed with the Yusakaso Ryokan and its owners/staff - they are excellent.

Highly recommended.”
We are female friend travellers. Before getting there, we were worried because of extremely lack of information about this place but as a result, very satisfied. Compare to reasonable price, they offered nice meals and the hot springs were very cute. However there might some advices needed. 1. The outside hot spring is mixed. For only one hour at night, it is allowed for only women. Mark it when you book. (but we had no big problems. it was enough for us.) 2. Their English is not really good, but really kind. 3. When it comes to the location, it is not really close to the main stream. You need to take a micro bus(It's written as Onsen bus something like that. 100 yen.) But the bus goes just right front of the ryokan, so not terribly bad. 4. Room is clean and okay space, really kind. Foods all delivered to the room. If you want not crazy price ryokan, but with outside hot springs and private room meals in a Japanese style room, I recommend here!

Good for a one night immersion into Japanese culture”
What an experience! My wife and I booked one night here with dinner included. It's a traditional Ryokan where dinner (and breakfast) is served in the room. The meals were filling, and when we had questions we had a fun time communicating via google translate on our phones. There is a private onsen you can reserve for 20 or 30 minutes when you check in, and then shared onsen that is part indoor (separate by gender) and part outdoor (mixed). I think this is a great place to experience a ryokan and onsen. I'm not sure it would be worth staying more than one night once you've had that experience. So my recommendation is thumbs up all around, but just for one night.

Great relaxing stay!”
Very nice traditional Ryokan! Staff is really nice and extremely helpful, the room we got was gigantic and very clean. We didn't opt for dinner but the breakfast was great and served inside the room traditional style! The onsen in the Ryokan was the best part, you get a 30min slot when you check in for the private onsen and then there is one outdoor bath that is mixed gender which is very nice! Additionally if you are shy there are some gender segregated baths indoors.

Great onsen experience, friendly staffs, comfortable futon”
My husband and I enjoyed both public onsen and private onsen very much. The ryokan staffs were friendly and helpful, they tried to provide great services although they couldn't really speak english. A very great ryokan stay experience!

Traditional experience - one night plenty”
We booked into this traditional Ryokan just to get the experience and really enjoyed ourselves. The staff were very helpful and had enough English to explain how it all works to us westerners with no Japanese language skills. We were indeed the only westerners there that night, it was popular with Japanese guests though. The breakfast was a delightful adventure, and the onsen simply fabulous. I'm glad we only booked the one night though as the futons were uncomfortable - but that's exactly what we expected. Easy walk down the hill to the restaurants in the main part of town. A great experience.

Very good”
The location of this ryokan in the Daino Chaya area is distant and uphill from Hakone Yumoto Station. We made the mistake of walking from the train station and climbing uphill with our carry on size luggage which was physically demanding and required multiple rest stops. Better directions should be given to guests to take the bus from the station to the Daino Chaya stop. The minutes from the station is definitely an estimate by bus because no way can someone walk to the property in that time.

Great ryokan experience! ”
It was our first ryokan experience and it was great. Staff were nice and tried their best to communicate with us in English. We had dinner and breakfast, food was exceptional. Hard to find on google maps. Basically, turn left when you get off the bus. Entrance to Ryokan is by the main road. There is a mixed outdoor onsen and indoor separate-sex onsens. 30 mins private onsen available for booking upon arrival.

Beautiful little gem of a Ryokan away from the hustle and bustle”
Great little traditional guesthouse with super lovely staff. The breakfast was amazing. Upon checking in, we were automatically asked if we wanted to book a private onsen sessions and were giving a list of times to choose from. There's an amazing restaurant just a few doors down called Karuta that serves yakidori (chicken on skewers), tempura and traditional Sumo Wrestler Stamina Bowl (Chankanobe) so you don't have to venture too far for a great meal. Would 100% recommend this place for those just wanting a great onsen experience without having to go to far for food or to get to the train station.

Quaint and lovely ryokan! LOVE!”
Spent a night here and we were surprised by their amazing hospitality and service! The lady that attended to us were super cute and attentive to our needs. Our dinner and breakfast served by them is mind-blowing! We licked each and every bowl clean! Their public outdoor onsen is beautiful, their private onsen for each couple are very nice too. So we get to experience both public and private. We definitely had a good and much needed rest here, being pampered so well by the host and definitely will come back again to Yosakaso! Keep it up!

Great food, superb dinner and magnificent outdoor onsen”
Service is really great. You can get a taste of the courtesy and heartwarming hospitality of local Japanese. There is no lift but they helped us carry our luggage to our room and back to the front door when we left. We had a private room for our dinner and the sashimi served was so fresh and tasty. The outdoor onsen is magnificent though it is a bit small. Do keep in mind that the outdoor onsen is for woman only every night from 8-9pm.

Ryokan Yusakaso”
A shuttle bus takes guests into this homely ryokan. Though not very conversant in English, the staff tries. Room is clean and comfortable. Breakfast is sumptuous. Onsen experience is pleasant.

Great ryokan experience! ”
Great traditional ryokan experience! That staff was wonderful and incredibly friendly. They bring your dinner and breakfast right to your room. The food is all Japanese with no western option, so be prepared to try lots of new things! There is a private onsen you can book upon arrival, as well as a public onsen. Overall, I would definitely recommend this ryokan! The amazing staff made our entire experience!

It is a really wonderful experience. The location is good! It only takes 5 minutes to get there by bus (route B) from the station. The staff members are helpful, polite and well-trained. Dinner and breakfast are served in my room. Both taste delicious. The hot springs (both indoors and outdoors) are nice. Very quite. Very nice.
