Good place to stay for few days or.. Owene/s was nice. Everything you need just around or a short drive. And wi-fi was good :) no service on my phone tho. No thx to Vodafone.

I recently spent a night at the Opal Motel where I received a friendly greeting on arrival and clean, comfortable, affordable accommodation. It was a cool night so I was very pleased to use the electric blanket and heater to warm up. I would be very happy to stay again when I am next in Leongatha as the location is perfect and the facilities are good.

Clean, Friendly, Comfy bed”
Look... this place is still in the 90's for sure. Yeah the bathrooms look like a gym bathroom... however, the place was super clean, the staff is really lovely (thanks Ian) and the beds are amazingly comfy (bar the headboard lights that keep you from sitting upright... guess that's why there's a couch at the foot of the bed?) and the sheets are lovely. My mate that was staying in another room said she was tempted to steal them and replace them with her sheets at home she like them so much LOL .... It is what it is for a hundy per night. Would stay again if I'm allowed back in Leongatha after a big wedding. Cheers.

This is a clean, comfortable motel with friendly staff. But the motel could do with an upgrade. It's close to everything and a good place to stay.

Pretty good value for a short stay”
The motel is not new but the room was clean and comfortable. The grounds had a rural feel that fits in with the location in a country town. There was a barbecue which we did not use but would be good for anyone wishing to cook their own meal. I'd happily use this motel again.

Below average with no competition”
Didn’t enjoy this place, had really old carpet that would be a nightmare if travelling & suffer from asthma , the screen in the shower was missing a door, the floors weren’t clean. No real interaction from the staff, weren’t very engaging at check in, no hints or tips with what to do in the area. They weren’t rude, just not warm. There are plates & cutlery etc in the room, I had weetbix one morning & had rinsed the bowl, not properly washed because there is no detergent supplied, came back in the afternoon & it was put away, next morning pulled it out to use, minor weetbix residue in the bowl still - obviously don't get properly washed - making me question hygiene & whether cleaned between guests.

Room was dingy. The owners need to upgrade everything except the bed, that was comfy. Most annoyingly, the TV remote did not work properly and channel reception was not always good. The TV was not smart. Some value for money but sadly I will not stay there next time.

Lovely surroundings and cosy rooms!”
i had a great experience at opal motel and would certainly recommend this to all! the motel is conveniently located and there is a lot of greenery by its surrounds. the rooms were big and complete with amenities such as microwave, fridge, shower kit, kettle, ironing board etc. there was even a separate sofa set in front of the tv for relaxation. there is also free wifi and cable tv selection in the room. overall, i had a very pleasant stay at opal motel and find it really value for money!

Good value, great location and friendly owner”
On arrival we noticed the beautiful setting of the motel which was set overlooking the views of the Gippsland countryside. The friendly proprietor warmly welcomed us and informed us about the various features of the locality that we were interested in. He gave us a discount voucher for a local restaurant which proved to be of great quality. The room was well furnished, comfortable and clean and was well stocked with tea/coffee supplies. The venue was close to all local attractions.

No Complaints”
We stopped here on a long road trip as a way to break up the drive. It was a nice hassle-free experience. The staff was nice. It's a little bit removed from the center of Leongatha, so it's nice and quiet. There is a scenic view of farmland from the parking area. It was a good halfway point between Wilson's Promontory and Melbourne.

we found the motel easy it was nice and clean the deco is old but ok they need new electric blankets . if you want great fish and chips go to lyrebird leongatha 13bair street we would be happy to stay again happy to pay the half price fee i dont think itis worth the full price fee the shower was nice and hot and they supply you with a lot of tea cofee and milk for a change .

A 'try-hard' motel with a family feel”
Different from the usual country motels with a 'try-hard' factor: Slightly better quality biscuits, a pile of interesting magazines - none of them looking too dog-eared and ... best of all ... an amazing terrazzo floor in the bathroom that I simply to chisel up and take home with me!
