Great budget stay”
Everything was great! There's not much to complain about. Aircon is weirdly placed just next to your head and rooms are quite tiny. But for the price, its perfect. We used it as our base to explore adventures around Dumaguete and this was perfect place for it. Definitely recommend! :)

We have been one night the first time before going to Siquijor and the place is nice and very well located. It was very clean also. After Siquijor we came back to stay one night because we liked Dumaguete and the hotel.

Nice and new but overpriced”
Booked on Agoda. This was one of the few hotels tat had two vacant rooms- I booked for myself and a friend. The hotel is nice and new but the price is above average for the quality. Similar room can be had for 2/3 of the price. The monthly rate seems to be a bargain, but the nightly rate is expensive. No comparison between the two. Pricing should be adjusted.Staff is sleepy and left room keys on the counter. Close to the city but a little bit tricky to find. Mobile reception is terrible, as is wifi.

Good for a night or two ”
Clean room, not very big. Wifi didn't connect in my room and I also had a weak cell signal here so using the internet was difficult, but that's normal for PI. COLD water in that shower too. I agree with some other reviewers that staff seemed "sleepy". Maybe they're overworked. Apparently they also have a no alcohol and no guest policy, which I found a little strange, but I doubt it's that heavily enforced. Overall decent value if you're just looking for a room for a few days tops.

Value for money accommodation”
The pension house is quite new so we were happy with their rate. But when it comes to cleanliness our room's bath smelled weird as if they're using deep-well water. The staff were quite friendly and accommodating which made our stay all more pleasant. Location is a bit far from places of interest but since trike fare is cheap it wasn't a bother for us. Would recommend it to anyone.

OK for a couple of nights”
The room is a little bit small but typical in this price range. There are other places that are more central with larger rooms for the same price offering better value. However, room was clean and in renovated condition. Aircon blows from the bedhead and it's an unfortunate design. A small towel stuck into the vents worked OK. Channel selection on the flat screen was decent, as was CR size. No phone signal in room but WiFi worked good enough. Nothing extraordinary to report but it will do..

Bed bugs and unhelpful crew”
We checked-in late after a full day in Bais and we were greeted by a room with no hot shower. A few minutes after lying down in the bed, the whole half of my face and and full back started itching. After 15 minutes it has spread to my arms and chest, we decided to ask the front desk for the nearest hostpital, thankfully Siliman University Hospital is a few streets away. We were advised that I may have had severe reaction to the bed bugs in the hotel and advised us to change hotels or ask for new rooms. After a few hours in the emergency room, we walked back to the hotel, asked for a new room and though the staff did allow us to move, no one helped us in preparing the room and moving our things. We had to ask for additional blankets to cover the bed just to make sure. If the staff were much more helpful during the ordeal, we would have been okay with the experience as this was a pension house, but there was barely any assistance given to us. No apologies were provided either. I recommend you check other properties with the similar price range as this was just not worth all the trouble.

Only booked this room because we travelled as a group and our companions were on a budget. If you have more budget, dont book this hotel! It’s too small!!!!!!!!!!!! To be fair to the hotel, nothing against them. You just to literally need to manage expectations.

good location,bad facility”
location is ok, near the university.but the facility is awful,the aircondition beside the head we had to turn around to leave it (a little bit). they separate rooms with and without hotwater.When we ask why there's no hotwater, the guy told us that we booked room without hotwater.That's become a new point for hotel choosing,even wanna a comfortable shower.

Nicely appointed, very clean and neat, very good staff, contented guests. I would definitely stay again. The only let-down was the poor wifi, nonexistent in the room, weak in the reception area.

Hard to find. No extra Service. I think they sold Walter and Chips. Small Road that should be 1 way. U cant see anything coming in Frontpage or Belinda u. Its near things in City if u know your way around. But I think the price was too High. Pictures OF rooms did not Show How small and Mousy aircon begin D your head over bed was not good idea.

Someone used our room specifically the bathroom while we are on our tour. ”
Someone used our room specifically the bathroom while we are on our tour while our things like bagpacks and etc. was inside the room. They knew that we are not leaving yet since it is clearly stated that I paid for 2 nights. We just left the key to the guard early in the morning so we won't have the chance to misplace it. But when we came back, the staff thought that we already check out. :( But we love the room, its clean. There is a hot shower, TV and aircon.

NOT TRUE TO ADVERTISING”
I cancelled our reservation because the property is in the interior with a single lane road leading to the property. It is not safe in case of fire because only one car can pass through the road and difficult to maneuver. Only one car parking, no space for backing, plenty of stray dog roaming around the property. Not safe to go out in the evening to get food. There may be a fire exit but the door is too small for a big built body and is padlocked with no provision for an ax to break the lock in case of fire. The room is not true its advertising. The door when opened is just a few inches away from the bed. The sides of the bed is just good for one person to pass by. The building may be clean because it seem to be new. The staff did not know that we made a booking thru Agoda because only their boss has the access. We had to wait for about 30 minutes before we were allowed to check-in. Never again will I book or recommend Optimum to anyone. I will not book again with Agoda because this is the third time I got disappointed with their properties.
