Clean, reasonably priced with restaurant onsite and aircon”
The establishment was probably built in the 1970's. That said it has been upgraded with aircon which was essential in Kaitia in the summer heat. Television reception was marginal at best. The bathroom has been upgraded with a walk in shower that doesn't spread the water all over the bathroom. Staff were friendly and courteous. Definitely recommended.

The hotel is good, value for money. Toilet seats and toilet floor and toilet overall is outdated, that one thing is reducing the class of this motel. Everything else, the staff, the location etc is perfect.

It was clean and easy to find, staff very friendly upon arrival. Swimming pool water could of been cleaner and spa pool should be working. In general I was happy .

I stayed at the twin studio and its a decent place, although not the best if you have infants. The room was quiet cramped, no kitchen area. I have stayed in rotorua and coromandel at similar prices but much larger rooms. Should be fine if you're all adults and wanting to eat outside food only.

Great location and good value. The facilities and cleanliness were a bit disappointing. There were disgusting stains on the toilet. The hot water tap couldn’t be turned off properly. They use dark blue towels rather than white ones. The color of the towels was fading.

Unfortunately, WIFI internet wasn't working. SPA was under maintenance. It seems like they put the notice for a long time. There was a swimming pool but no changing room. The Motel has no proper kitchen or cooking facilities, so it is very difficult for a vegan or vegiterians.

This place is good value but abit tired and run down. I was disappointed to find a cigarette butt in our bathroom after being away for the day. I talked yo reception about it but they didn't seem too worried. I knowits only a little thing but its disgusting!!! Kids enjoyed the pool. Clean comfortable beds.

The friendly and helpful staff were very much appreciated during our stay. It was unfortunately a shame and slight inconvenience that in our unit the power for 'kitchen appliances' went off and on a couple of times, including for the fridge. We also could not get the microwave working for heating up things for children etc. The room itself was quite homely and the beds were comfortable - definitely a bonus to have the electric blanket on offer, should one need it.

We got room 29, which I can only assume is the worst room available. Very tired and dated, with numerous maintenance problems. Pretty much everything wrong you could think of with a room applied here. At least the double bed was comfortable enough and sheets clean. Otherwise it feels that they are willing to squeeze every last dollar out of this room if anyone is desperate enough to take it.

Restaurant closed on Sundays”
We chose the Orana Motor Inn because the restaurant seemed nice - well, when we arrived we found it was closed over Christmas and all statutory holidays. Furthermore, the rooms that we booked were not available, but we were assigned a different room without notice despite of our booking being confirmed. Note of advice: call reception and check before you book.

We arrived and was given a smaller room then booked, when questioned with pictures and details. We were then told they don't have rooms that are available on this site. They moves our room as we wouldn't have been able to fit in first room to only get a room "upgrade" with a shower covered in ductape, TV missing off the wall, cold showers, and absolutely no kitchen facilities. 1 room had a kettle milk was old even tho replaced daily. Really disappointing.

Great for a short break”
We had a great stay in a one bedroom unit at Orana Motor Inn. Although it is an older style motel the unit was spacious and comfortable. The one bedroom units are upstairs and there is a pleasant area to sit outside your unit. Lots of comfortable seating inside and two tvs. The owners are very pleasant and helpful. Plenty of drawers and wardrobe space for your clothes etc.

Nice place to stay”
We stayed for two nights, was cute little room with everything we needed, restaurant on site which we didn't try but always someone in there eating, host was great showing me how to use washing machine/dryer and said to see him if clothes weren't dry after hour (which they were) very warm room and comfortable bed, will stay again if we up that way. Also a must do is the Cape Reinga trip with Harrison's Cape Runner (a local family owned business) $50 per adult and free lunch. Kaitaia is a lovely place to travel to and stay 😊😊

Good but noisy.”
The stay at the Orana was OK, but the room (No.13) was a bit small. The staff were very friendly and helpful, but our stay was spoilt by local youths taking over the swimming pool area and having a very loud party through most of the evening. They obviously were not staying at the hotel and nobody moved them on until the pool closed -9-30pm.
