Nice Hotel”

Rooms

The hotel is quite simple but serves it's purpose well. The staff were very helpful, even when we asked a million questions. The breakfast that comes with the room is fantastic! We did upgrade it though (which was very cheap). This isn't the place to go if your wanting a bit of a swish experience. As I said before, it's very simple. However, the rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The rooms all had air conditioning and I can say that, having never traveled to the Philippines before, the air con was heaven sent. Right next door to the hotel is a dairy (milk bar, convenience store) which was great. The doorman at the hotel could see me the whole time I walked over there so I felt quite safe. (Davao city is notoriously dangerous for foreigners) The hotel felt very safe on the whole. We will be returning to the Orange Grove later pm this year. I'd recommend

Great location and hotel with spacious Rooms ”

Near the airport, great location, spacious rooms

We arrived at Davao around 7:30am and although we requested through Agoda for an early check in, we were not sure if such request will be accommodated. When we arrived at the hotel, we were able to check in early (that's about 8:30am) and on such a short time. Staff were all nice especially those at the front desk who were on duty that time. Security personnel were equally courteous. When we requested for extra pillows or assistance in turning on the TV, you don't have to wait for a long time. If you want to go to the city or wherever, it is accessible by taxi, jeepney (which is the most common mode of transportation in the Philippines)

A good location where you need rest after a trip just along the highway from the airport going downtown area of Davao City. Although, we have used the room the next day but we were accommodated properly. We didn't take long for us to take our meals.

location, cost and location

we had a flight leaving in the middle of the night, so we needed a place to stay for about 6 hours before heading to the airport. This was a hotel close to the airport with a good price that fit the need. We weren't there long and didn't have a chance to really know about the hotel, but we were happy it was there and available.

A modern hotel, well appointed”

The hotel is modern, neat, well kept

I enjoyed my time at this hotel. The staff did everything to make my stay comfortable and happy. The hotel is clean, convenient, most modern and runs efficiently. The room had everything and I consider this hotel to be more realistically considered as a four star hotel, and not its current rating.

Regular room rate less than Agoda rate”

Great staff. Great staff. Free breakfast.

The regular hotel rate is less than the "deal" we got through Agoda. The hotel claims to have been renovated but it was not. We stayed there two years ago and it was exactly the same. Same carpet, same beds, same wallpaper, same lobby, same unreliable elevator. The pictures make it look much better. The rooms are not decorated as it is shown in the pictures. That was done for the pictures. The only saving grace to this place is that the prices are not bad. It has a great karaoke bar, the free breakfast is good, and the entire staff is phenomenal. They were all helpful and wonderful. There is a few chicken places close buy that are great. Rotisserie and fried.

Nice Hotel”

Rooms

this hotel is reasonably clean and is within walking distance from largo do senado, macau's main cultural attraction. from there you can basically do a walking tour of macau and also stroll down to the casino's if you want to do some gambling. the rooms are a little worn but generally pretty modern and the bed is comfortable. the other commenters mentioned the pictures were fake but i don't think thats true. the pics while are professionally touched up do not overrepresent the place. overall, we had a pleasant experience here. a good budget hotel to do some sightseeing in macau.

Hotel stay was ok. Had an issue with check-in process. ”

Overall, hotel stay was good. Had an issue while checking in. Front desk staff said they would not allow checkin until after they received confirmation with Asia Travel who apparently was partnered with Agoda in booking the room even if the whole thing was booked and paid for via Agoda.com. No other resolution offered except to wait for a certain email and they do not even have a timeframe when to expect the email. Very unfair for the customer since the room was already fully paid with Agoda. I had to call Agoda Customer Service, spending unnecessarily for long distance when it's not supposed to be my problem but a back end problem between the hotel and Agoda. I was on the phone with an Agoda agent for at least 30 minutes to get the issue (wait time plus hold while Agoda agent contacts hotel or Asia Travel). I did not even get a proper apology for the inconvenience.

Friendly housekeeping but we'll not return.”

The housekeeping staff was very friendly.

According to several of my Philippine friends, this hotel is an O.K. place to stay. However, according to the foreigners I know, they would not recommend staying here. Still, due to a lack of finances my wife and I made reservations here for four nights. I'm from the U.S. and she is a philipina yet we both agree we would never care to stay here again. Even though the hotel is staffed with friendly people, the building itself is dirty; not just dated as some reviews claim. (Note the outside of the hotel is shown at night when one cannot really see the building's condition.) Our room's air condition froze up several times. The unit has only one setting which works. The dimly lit bathroom shower, toilet and floor looked as though they had not been properly cleaned for years. The only decent looking area was the lobby; it is only in the lobby that one has access to free wifi. The "free" continental breakfast was merely an egg with styrofoam-like white toast, coffee and choice of fruit or juice. Although being first in the breakfast room, my wife and I still waited 15-20 minutes to be served. I guess we should have known that the low rate was just too good to be true. If you believe you get what you pay for, you should not have any problem staying here. Still, we would not recommend it.
