4days 3 nights stay”
Pros Staff were friendly Location was convenient (5min walk to main road and start of orchard road) Bed was comfortable Cons Booked premier 2BR because it looked new and modern in the photos but it turned out totally different. Room was old and had a musky smell. The amenities in the room also differ in both bedrooms. One had a hair dryer the other didn't. Same goes for the bedroom slippers. Bedroom could probably have a ceiling light too instead of just 2 side lamps.
Booked 3 weeks before and the hotel gave me a broken room”
Booked and paid 3 weeks in advance and instead of giving us a nice room, they gave us a smelly,dirty and broken room. It was a connecting roon and the other roon was broken so we had a different room and it was nicer and that too was a connectong room.So why didnt the hotel blocked the nicer rooms for us since we paid 3 weeks in advance and gave us thr worst room? Thanks a lot! I was with my 9 year old and mother in law. The room was neglected and not checked before our arrival because we arrived at 10 p.m. Not Good. And the 3 nights we stayed my mother in laws room was never cleaned. Our room was only cleaned once...No phone in the room..Our rooms smells of left over cooking stench..the bathroom toilet and tub smell coming ouy of the bathtub and toilet holes..smells of septic tank..t.v only had one English channel..
This place is no longer managed by the previous company, hence it's now called Orange Grove not Darby Park anymore. Don't even expect a 3 star hotel service & facilities. No phone, no cable TV, missing pieces of here & there. End to end of unit are not maintained such as the air-conditioning, kitchenette & toilet. Fact, there's no maintenance department or room service, breakfast or in-house food. If you faced any problem, the current management couldn't promptly address the issue & will called a third-party contractor instead. Housekeeping is once weekly. In short, if your budget is above USD $150 then it's best you put-up at nearby service apartment that offer much more but at the similar rate. You have been warned!
Terrible place! Avoid!”
Requested and paid for 2 adjoining rooms, with sleeping accomodation for 2 adults and 4 children. On arrival found 2 double beds only. No staff available to query or rectify. Rooms very rundown and dirty. No soap in bathrooms. Beds saggy and uncomfortable. Agoda lists this hotel as 4 stars which is total misrepresentation. Will be requesting a refund.

Special thanks to John, for his great customer service. Understand that the building is old and several nights we could smell bad odour coming from the toilet. We were upgraded to another room for 2 nights. Other than that, location is great and the rooms are comfortable and big. Definitely value for money, especially for Long stays.
Fantastic service suite”
Overall my stay was comfy and it felt like being at home in my stay duration. Cooking utensils and stove was not bad. Bed was nice. The draw back was that the sofa has bugs in it. I got bitten after sitting on it. The rest overall satisfactory.

These apartments are spacious and well appointed for the price. Is in a great spot just around the corner from orchard road. Once I found this place we have stayed here every year, its the very good value for money. Highly recommend
A hotel that feels like home near Orchard Rd”
Got a good rate via agoda, if you in Singapore for a longer than usual stay this hotel is perfect in terms of location and its studio size makes it great if you brought your family along. Good wifi, adequate facilities - gym, tennis court and pool.... Simple but good continental breakfast.

As summary very relaxing stay and away from crowded people. Suitable for relaxing after work. Disadvantages of this hotel are mineral water not replenish on daily basis, wifi signal not strong enough inside room, room very clean but old furniture.
great locality but........”
staff were great but they were confused about payment offered me paypal, cash or livewire and still demanded payment on 4 separate times . why not credit card as the rest of the world does? Black hair everywhere we are blondes and red hair persons? cleaning wasnt done after previous guests as no toilet paper rubbish bins full smelly and overflowing we stayed 12 days and our room was cleaned once only but the locality was awesome truly awesome but we wont be back there we will stay next door at the treetops or shangrila. for four people we were given 1 soap etc to share..... 2 coffee , teabags and sugar for 4 ? unserviced apartments is more like it and this is my first negative comment anywhere
Hit or miss”
Our Air Con was broken and never fixed in the three nights 4 days we were there. Also, there was lack of communication regarding it. We got a 2 bedroom connected room, one was nice and updated and the other connected room was outdated, old, and dusty (the one with the broken AC), not to mention the bathroom had a sewage smell. So you may want to ask if you’re getting an older room or newer one. In the time we were here, there was never housekeeping. The guy that worked at night was more courteous and the guy that worked during the day was very unwilling to help or answer question. It wasn’t a horrible stay, but service definitely isn’t their strength. That’s why I said it’s a hit or miss. Great location and looks good on the outside for sure.
Since their policy is so strict and I can’t get a refund when it’s so bad that I just want to leave after the first night, I’ll just have to make it known for others. At first the room looks fine and clean. Just tired looking. Then, shocks came one after another. Apparently, there’s no amenities. I called front desk to inquiry and was told the place does not provide toothbrush, no toothpaste, no facial tissue (only toilet paper provided), no bedroom slippers, no bathrobe, only One small bottle of shower gel and shampoo one time complimentary per stay. So, had to get driver to drive all the way out to get. The nearest supermarket was pretty far even by car. Oh and they don’t tell you all these at one shot. They slowly reveal all these missing items/services only when I ask and I had to make a few trips out. I mean who would have expected this? I travel globally all the time and this has never happened to me. Then, I started seeing bugs. Real big ants crawling around the kitchen and bathroom. The most unacceptable was when it was finally time for bed. Bedsheet had hair under the cover. Bedsheet had dusts, like someone had been using an eraser on the bed. And while I was laying there, a black bug actually crawled out of the sheets towards my shoulder! Instant reaction was to kill it but I started getting paranoid. Hence I couldn’t sleep for the rest of the night, and I had 5more nights to go, not able to get refund and change hotel. I’m still on my first night, it’s 4am, and I’m itching all over just from lying on the bed (I had a full bath and shower from head to toe before going to bed). No housekeeping over the weekend too. This practice is not usual across Asia, be it hotel or serviced apartments. There probably is a reason why they “force” you to book a min of 5 nights. So you can’t get a refund and switch accommodation.

The hotel is old. Except the lobby area, the hotel needs renovation. Rooms are ok, air condition temperature fluctuates and can't close the bathroom door properly. Hotel staffs are friendly and has complementary breakfast.
Peaceful location in the most popular area”
The location of this service apartment is very nice. It's in a peaceful residential area, but just 8 minutes walking distance to famous Orchard road. There is complementary breakfast (except Saturday Sunday), which is a bonus. Room amenities are abit old fashioned & needs major update & renovation. Hotel is clean & staffs are friendly.
Excellent despite a few initial hiccoughs”
Arrived 6am having booked accommodation from the previous day to ensure we could go straight in to our room after 12h flight with 3 and 5y old. Met by security guard who was very helpful and he checked us in/showed us to our room. Unfortunately at the room he noted the aircon wasn’t working, and was unable to move us - BUT he did tell us we could complimentary breakfast started at 6.30 and there would be someone in at reception to help at 7 despite it saying 8.30 in the room info which was really helpful. Sure enough reception arrived at 7 and they provided us with an alternative suite to sleep in whilst the aircon was fixed and by the time we rose from our slumber it was fixed and we returned to our intial Suite. All in all very helpful, very clean, good location and able to solve problems as they arose.

I arrived in the morning around 10am, but I understand it's a bit early for check in. So I left my luggage at the concierge. I came back after work at around 10pm to check in. The main entrance door is closed, so I need to find the security guys to open the door for me. He is apparently the only person around, and did the check-in for me! No front office personnel. I got my room key, and went inside the room. My first impression on the apartment unit is gloomy, dusty floor, a bit of smell. Anyway, I just drop my stuffs and opened my laptop. Not long after that, the guest next door was doing some cooking (at around 10.45pm at night), and the smell was really really strong and I can smell it in my bedroom. The smell either traveled from the air conditioning installation, the front door and through the connecting door in my bedroom. I called the operator, but the phone did not work! Tried many times, and no one picked up! I booked another hotel that night, and I checked out early in the morning, and forgo the subsequent 2 nights (cos I booked for 3 nights already). Such a pity, and unfortunate to find such service apartment in a very premium location (near to Orchard road, and in between Shangri-La Hotel and Shangri-La Apartment). Time to upgrade and not to get another disappointed customers.
