Great Location”
Love this hotel - the staff is always very friendly, they have coin-operated laundry services at the rooftop, the room is big, has filtered water at the tap, a bathroom and a wonderful location just right behind a great night market.

Easy, friendly stay”
After a long bike ride with two teenagers, it was a pleasure to be welcomed into the Oriental Hotel in Tainan. Even though I took a wrong turn from the train station, we still got to the hotel within 10 minutes. The room was comfortable with mid-firm mattresses and working wifi. Plus the shower was hot and the towels big enough. When dinner time came, it was pouring out. We were recommended to the goat soup shop just two doors down and provided umbrellas. Easy going there and back with such tasty food. The morning breakfast buffet was good enough. All staff were friendly and welcoming. I'd return.

Service, Cleanliness, Convenience, Facilities”
The staff service is very friendly. There is parking for those who drive, but it is first come first serve. Although the environment is not as trendy as new hotels, it is clean and tidy. The only downside is that the TV programs and images are still stuck in the era of 5C2V cable TV, with very poor picture quality and few channels. However, the price and convenience are great!

Recommendation”
Clean and quiet old hotel. Although it is not right next to the station, it is not far from the train station and can be reached on foot. The room is well-equipped and well-maintained, very clean. The front desk service is friendly. The quality of the stay during the holiday is still normal.

Limited parking, average breakfast, noisy bathroom fan”
There are only a few underground parking spaces and a few parking spaces at the entrance. The breakfast is average with not many options. The bathroom fan is loud. The soundproofing is good, but you can hear noise when someone passes by the door. The TV suddenly cannot be controlled by the remote and can only be manually operated. There are two types of pillows to choose from, cotton pillows are placed in the wardrobe and feather pillows are placed on the bed.

Old but great”
This hotel works for me: it is quite old and not so fashionable, but 1) staff is great 2) it is clean 3) well located 4) with a better than average breakfast 5) it has a parking. I enjoy going there!

Good value, excellent location”
Third time staying. Decent adequate as always. Free parking (but limited spaces), excellent staff and decent breakfast makes up for a much-needed update to the decor, which is clearly past its heyday.

Everything this hotel has going for it is only comparable to its immediate but newer competition. One slight advantage is that it is located directly in the heart of downtown and the main transportation hubs which is a plus for foreigners.

Dependable, centrally-located, and business-friendly hotel in Tainan”
Budget hotels in Taiwan are often sufficient but not something I'd want to return to. This hotel, although it is old, makes for a totally decent stay in one of the most convenient parts of the city. Plenty of outlets in the room, natural light, a working desk and nice chair, a reasonably comfortable mattress (on the hard side but not overly so), and surprisingly good shower/bath facilities make for a good stay. The staff are also super friendly and check-in was a breeze. No nonsense, nothing fancy, just good value in Tainan. I'll be staying here again on future trips.

Comfortable room, friendly staff ”
I am a solo traveler who was in Tainan for just one day to go geocaching, so I didn't spend much time in the room. However, I found the room perfect for my limited needs. There were other small amenities that I especially appreciated: 1) Plenty of electrical sockets for recharging (4 at the desk, 1 by the bed, 1 in the wall, and 2 in the bathroom) 2) Toiletries provided and plenty of towels 3) Mini fridge, closet, desk--more than enough storage for my needs 4) Bathtub and Japanese bidet toilet seat in the bathroom 5) English instructions for air conditioning controls 6) McDonalds, Starbucks, Tasty, and many other cafés and eateries within a 2 block walk. Although the price was a bit higher than other places, I feel it was worth it because of the above, and because I booked only one day before, and because I really have nothing negative to say. I rated the food at the middle, 3, because I didn't eat there and so I have no idea about the food (this part of the review process should be adjusted by Agoda)

Busines hotel in the heart of the busines district”
service at this hotel reaches surreal levels. i still remember the receptionist running after me screaming when i had just checked in. i thought i had left my passport behind, but all she wanted to do was push the elevator button for me. the location is great too. it is right on minzu road where there are many shops and restaurants. you can walk there from the train station, but since tainan does not have any proper footpaths, you may be better to take a taxi. the main problem with this hotel is there is no free wifi. one cannot do business these days without staying connected.

Old and Small Hotel with Excellent Service Attitud”
Oriental Hotel is conveniently located in the center of Tainan, within walking distance to various scenic points and the city's only large department store. The staff in the hotel has a very polite attitude, making the guests feel that they're at a 5-star hotel. The hotel room is a bit old though lives up to the standard of its room rate.

Antique-style hotel but highly recommended”
the first thing that i noticed was the friendliness of the staff when i arrived. everyone was so pleasant and warm that the old-fashioned interiors did not bother me that much anymore. i was very impressed with the quality of the hygiene in the hotel as well although it looked so old and ancient from the outside. however, the inflexibility of extending checking out timing was a little disappointing. still i will recommend it for anyone who do not know tainan enough to venture out and stay in one of the many homestay inns available.

Probably one of the best hotel”
probably one of the best hotel during our trip in taiwan. the service is excellent with the staffs trying to help you all the time with recommendations of places to go and food to eat. the stretch of road where the hotel is located has many good food. just walk down the road and you should be able to find food unique to tainan. the location is close to major attractions in tainan. the only downside is the wireless internet that is weak, can't be accessed in the room.

Convenient and Great Staff”
The hotel was nice, but the staff were always willing to help, opening doors, super-friendly, and complimentary breakfast was offered as well. The location is convenient as well, about 10 minutes from the Tainan train station and right next to great food and the shops.

Great location and clean rooms”
This hotel is a bit dated by the look of its decorations but the room is very clean and spacious. We chose it because it is very close to some of the tourist attractions in Tainan such as Fort Provintia, the most famous landmark of the city. The fort is only about 5 mins walk down the road from the hotel and circled by some famous local restaurants. If you visited the fort, don't miss the winter melon tea sold at a small drink stall at the lane opposite to the fort. There is often a queue outside, so you will find it quite easily. The tea is very thirst quenching and soothing, we love it so much that we went back to get another bottle the next day

Lovely hotel and service with a smile”
this hotel gives you good value for money. the rooms are good, the bathroom big enough. the breakfast is very good, a lot of variety, better than i expected for a hotel in this range. the location is good, near one of the best sashimi places of tainan, the shopping mals, the train station and the computer street. also some pubs like the armory are not that far off. there is free parking, which is a good value if you are that close in the city center.
