A wonderful stay - highly recommended”

We stayed in the Beach Hotel which was cosy and comfortable. The hospitality and service really helped to up the ante on our holiday. The lovely Tony was such a great resource and guide for us during our trip to Oslob, making us feel like friends staying in his resort, as opposed to estranged guests from out of town. Our space was characterized and made pleasant by a charming garden with deck views that overlooked the water - a perfect spot to watch the Cebu sunset. It was homely and clean, with the only drawback being it's slight distance from the main town. Commuting from the resort to town at night can be a little tricky if you're not up for riding a motorbike for a lift. A great experience overall and would highly recommend the place to visitors of Oslob.

Our best four days in Cebu”

My fiance and I stayed four days in April and we truly found a gem at the Garden Stay. The patio at the back of the property has a fantastic view and is a great place to settle down after going to the waterfalls or seeing the whale sharks. Especially with a cold drink in hand. The staff here truly is fantastic - there is always someone close by in case you need something and the property is absolutely spotless. The room we stayed in had just been constructed and was fantastically clean with a new air conditioner and hot water. Oslob is about a 3 hour bus ride (300p) from the south bus station in Cebu but they will drop you off in front of the resort. A taxi or van will run you about 3,000p. The only issue you might encounter here is the lack of meal service, but the view, helpful staff and the rooms certainly make up for it. It may be convenient to arrange for some transportation, but the owner was very helpful in that and showed us where some of the good spots in town are to eat (its a short drive). They also helped us plan trips to the waterfalls, the whale sharks and hot springs. The owner here made us feel absolutely at home and was key in making our stay fantastic. I will return here every time I go to the Cebu and will recommend the Garden Stay to anyone.

Great place”

So far Oslob Garden Stay Beach Resort is a good place to stay especially in Oslob as it is near to the whaleshark watching venue. Also, I appreciate that the hosts waited for us until our arrival at 11PM, however, it could have been better if they are offering food as well.

Comfortable night stay whales and waterfall”

Good stay there. The rooms are clean and a good size. The backyard leads directly to the beach but unless you're looking to swim it's not the kind of beach you'd go to. You only need to spend one night/day in Oslob (very rural area) but if you're going to make the trip for the whales, this is a great place to stay. The staff is amazing!

Absolutely wonderful place to stay!”

We can't fault this place at all. The staff were absolutely fantastic and helped us with everything we needed and didn't know that we needed. We ate there every day and the food did not disappoint us at all. It was fresh and beautifully cooked every time. The room and surroundings were perfect and the sea was literally the other side of the garden wall. It's walking distance to the market and also a short ride away from the Whale sharks. We don't write reviews ordinarily however felt that this place and (more importantly) the staff were just so fantastic that we didn't feel comfortable not leaving a review. Very happy with my stay here! The location and premise were met all of my needs. The owner, Tony, was extremely hospitable, and even took me in to town to get food and see some of the area! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Oslob! Cheers Tony!

Very helpful staff in a quiet setting”

This place was perfect”

This place was perfect for our relaxing stay after staying in hectic city. The place was beautiful and just off the sea. The staff was absolutely amazing so so kind and helped me in troubled situations. Even when it was raining they offered to wait outside for the bus so they can stop it for you. Our room was super clean and large with aircon, TV and hot showers. Thank you for a lovely stay xx

Very friendly ”

I was originally disappointed because the location was further away from the whale shark event than it looked on the map. That was fine, because we had a car picking us up for that event anyways, it just took us a bit to find this 'resort'. There is no restaurant at this hotel, so for dinner there was nothing to eat. Staff told us to walk to the city center for something to eat. That would have been a very far, dark walk. Luckily the owner showed up and volunteered to take us down there. He was very nice and spoke very good English. We went into the food market and purchased fruit and BBQ chicken. Owner helped in this. Then drove us back to the hotel and provided us with plates and silverware at no cost. He asked if breakfast was going to be provided for us on our excursion trip, and we said a small one and he said the ladies at the hotel could make us something, and we said that was fine. This was in passing so he made it seem minor and free. We told them we had to leave very early, 7am. However breakfast was served to us at 6:55am. We had to eat very quickly so I think the two eggs and toast were good, but it definitely wasn't worth what they ended up charging us. Also, there is a gate to enter the property and no one can really hear you knocking unless they just happen to be at the gate, so walk in and get someone. While the view over the ocean at night was beautiful, and the staff was very nice. The bathrooms were a little dirty, location far from food, and there is no food options at the hotel. For these reasons I probably wouldn't stay here again.

Great hotel for families”

Our stay was outstanding, the staff was very attentive/helpful to our needs and if they were not able to help us they would find the right people to help us with whatever we needed. If you like a quiet and peaceful place to stay this would be the place. I would recommend this hotel to my relatives and friends.

perfect weekend”

The owner and his stuff very extraordinary friendly and hepful.we were staying in the frontbeachhouse which is very spacious and very clean. the owner homself drove us to the sharkwhalewatching, waited for us, showed us the waterfall and helped us shop the perfect barbeque at the market.i highly recommend this place for small groups who are keen on getting in touch with people!!we´ll be back if we have the chance!!Victoria,Austria

Clean and decent”

ok room clean and big with good aircon, hot water, no drinking water provided right at a beautiful beach staff friendly and helpful situated right at the main road where tansport is found. 2-3 kilomoters from the town center 25 minutes away from whale watching and falls, best reach by buses (faster and direct) instead of by motorcycles or jeepneys

Beautiful surroundings - perfect place to stay!”

Couldn't have asked for more! The ladies met us even though we arrived later than scheduled! And they helped us organise our whole day while we were there. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer!!

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The owner himself drove us to the whale watching area and was a fount of information. There is no restaurant on the premises but you can order food in advance--and I mean in advance. Breakfast must be ordered the day before and lunch and dinner hours before. Otherwise, great value for the money.

good place for the money ”

It is a nice hotel compared to most. Don't expect much comfort since the beds are not too good. There is no food so you just need a 5 min drive to town which has horrible food also except roasted chicken place. Internet was good and staff nice. Be careful of the prices for the sharks and canyoneering. I would highly recommend renting a motor bike for 500 to 700 and go to these places yourself. Their guide that they go to is not that fair on pricing so you need to talk to others do not book things online wait until you get here to book activities

A place to visit the whalesharks”

I came there just 2 hours after a typhoon devastated the road with trees and lamp posts fallen. There was no electricity in the hotel and was very windy, but the staff were very nice with me and helped me a lot to have confortable a night. Apart of that, the hotel is ok to see the whalesharks, althoug a bit far from it (15 minutes by motorbike).
