I booked a room and it was approved and agoda sent me the voucher to my email add on March 19. I arrived at wang mart building at 2am March 21. I was shocked that it has stopped operation a long time ago. It cause me so much trouble. It was dawn and I was tired from my flight from Davao just to realize I have no bed to go to. I spent an hour looking for another place stay. I spent monet for taxi and for a higher rate.
Stay was okay”
We stayed at the ensuite room. So we had a bathroom to ourselves. It was okay for the amount we paid, and we stayed only overnight. Tho were were many people checked-in that time, surprisingly, the place was quiet. The common areas like kitchen, living room were big spaces so you will really have a space of your own. As for our room, it was a big room which can fit 2 queen size beds. Of course we only had 1. Towel provided was not nice. It was old and very thin. No toiletries provided. No water. Water, you have to get from the dispenser located at the kitchen. The breakfast was okay. just 1 serving. with banana, scrambled egg, bread 2 pcs, and coffee or tea or juice. The internet was very fast, which is good. And inside the premises, you have to walk barefoot. The shoes and slippers are left at the entrance or main door.
very friendly and helpful staffs they offer lots of tour guide package on the board near reception and also give 100 peso discount coupon if you need a thai massage I would definitely recommend this hostel
Good price and vibes ”
Had a very cheap dorm, matrass was a bit strange at first but slept confortable. Staff was super helpful and friendly. Especially Elvie who I accidentally met in their second branch in El Nido. Bathroom wasn't that clean but doable. Location is a bit red light disctrict, bit difficult to walk at night without being harrased by massage girls etc. I would stay there again
great place for a stay”
arrived kinda late but still the staff welcomed and assisted me, the location is great cause it's not just near everything you might need(I.e restaurant, convenient store) but also some sight seeing sights and also clubs and bar. just wish they had bit faster internet since at the time of my stay there we're 2 available connections but 1st one sometimes disconnects due to distance restriction while the 2nd iskinda slow sometimes so had to either step out of room to get better signal on 1St connection or use mobile data. but overall it was nice, I would recommend it and would definitely be back.
New location, more spacious”
They already moved to a new location which is I guess a more spacious one. The common room is now bigger but they have fewer common CRs. The hostel is clean since they do not allow slippers or shoes inside. The breakfast is moderate. The staff are attentive & even helped us get a taxi thru grab. Will definitely go back to this place.
Very helpful staff”
I am not the typical customer of a hostel, but I had only a few hours and for that I wanted to save some money. The location is good and the staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast starts at midnight already, what you even don't get in a 5*-Hotel, except those who are preparing take-away-boxes - perfect! I found only two negative points: The common area is close to the rooms and that makes it very noisy, at least on that night. I have tried to sleep from 21.30 to 03.15, but I could sleep only from about midnight to 02.00, before and after that, it was too noisy. I admit, for the average hostel-guest this would not be a big problem. The towel I have got was taken (probably by a guest) from another hotel, there was the hotel's name on it... a bit embarrassing...
Finest hostels ever in Makati”
The moment you stepped in the room, you will be greeted their friendly staff who are ready to assist you in whatever you need, no wonder lots of backpackers are staying there. The service is just so awesome and the genuine hospitable is something you will never forget. Breakfast is provided, the washing area is well-maintained, and the living room is equipped with things that you can enjoy, tinker, and play. You will never regret this hostel, for a backpacker is just being at home.
Great hostel to stay yet again.”
This is my second time staying at this wonderful hostel. The staffs are very friendly and helpful and they do organise activities for guests. They provide basic breakfast but I think its good enough for the price we pay. It is situated very near to pubs n bars so at night it will be a bit noisy but its ok.
I was in Manila for 5 days with my friends and had an awesome stay at Our Melting Pot.The room is clean and tidy. Shared bathrooms are clean too. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and they are always ready to share directions to wherever you want to go around Manila. Highly recommended!
Great place if into adventure & exploring Manila”
My stay was a very enjoyable experience. This is the first time I have ever stayed at this kind of facility (hostel) and the only things I had expected & hope for was a safe, secure, quiet and clean place to rest, sleep and the ability to connect to the Internet without any problems. It turned out to be more than I had anticipated because of the great staff and especially the proprietor (forgive me, I forgot her name...sorry, bad memory for names). They're knowledgeable, friendly, polite and very accommodating. They even organize field trips for their guests to participate in to explore sites in the city or outside the Metro area. I just don't have enough words or the ability right now to compose with the proper vocabulary to praise and compliment the proprietor of the establishment. She goes out of her way to help her guests whether it be answering frequently asked questions, advice, helping her guests make reservations at a different location, a place her guests would like to visit or using her business connections and/or friends to find available accommodations for her budget minded guests. The other travelers I met there were all friendly, most were young in their 20s & early 30s on vacation and a few just traveling and exploring. Right across the street are 2 nice restaurants (David's Tea House is 1 of 2). Plenty of eateries around the area and from what I'm told if you like the night life and drinking in bars they are close by within walking distance. The only negative I can say is, I believe the hotel site I made my reservation listed an elevator in the building. Well, there is one but it is not functioning and I don't believe it will be repaired anytime soon. I'm no backpacker. I was carrying a laptop, a carry-on bag and a large heavy luggage. The hostel is on the 4th floor. The security guard was kind enough to carry my heavy luggage up the stairs.
I really enjoyed my stay at One Melting Pot Hostel. The staff here are very attentive and went out of their way to help me when I was sick. The beds here are very comfortable and shwoers very pleasant. The premesis is very clean and the hostel is centrally located. Definitely staying here again.
Very friendly and great location”
Very good hostel, the double room deluxe is by far the best room, large and with ensuing bathroom. Other rooms rather small with shared bathroom. Staff very helpful, they fully refunded a room that we booked and didn't need. Located right in the heart of Makati with great food and entertainment nearby.
Great hotel with a family vibe”
The staff was very friendly and courteous and was there for every possible need, great knowledge of the Philippines and very willing to help with helpful itineraries for many different destinations. The room was very clean and the hostel was well maintained. You may also if you wish take a package trip that is worth while.
the staff are very friendly and helpful. Even though I appeared in the hostel at 11 am before the normal check in time, I was provided with my room and hence I did not need to wander around The room is a bit small but given this price and such location it is still a nice place to stay for budget traveller.
Great service and a great location”
The hostel was a little but tricky to find at first because of the lack of signage downstairs, but once I found the place it was perfect for what I needed. Simple dorm room, solid free breakfast, and good service that helped me on my way.
this is the best place i have found in manila. before i stayed in hotels which cost more and delivered less. the location is excellent, the staff extremely friendly, the cost reasonable, wifi ok. i am staying here when i pass thorugh manila
I would recommend The Melting Pot to travelers looking for a 'backpacker experience'. The hostel staff are so helpful and friendly, even allowing us to leave our luggage behind after check-out. The Melting Pot has such a nice vibe and atmosphere where you can watch movies, have dinner and hang out with other travelers. I've stayed there twice and I would go back again. It's in a decent area, but you do have to walk up 4 flights of stairs to get to it.
Lovely hostel and great location.”
Although its quite hard to locate this hostel at the first time, but once u found, its really convenient, the building just nearby the main roadside, tricycle, jeepney, and taxi could be easily get. It provided the free bread as breakfast for u to have, its great. A great smile and friendly staff of the hostel as well, highly recommended if u r looking for the hostel and cheap stay at Makati area of Manila. And, its upgrading and expanding at the moment i stayed(20/08/2012), so i guess, it growing up.
