Good hotel in excellent location
The Oxford Hotel is located right next to Bras Basah MRT which makes most of Singapore quite easy to access but even better, there is a ton of stuff thats within easy walking distance including the Singapore Art Museum, The Singapore Management University, the National Library and Bugis Junction so you really don't need to travel far for most things. I found the staff competent and helpful, with one even offering me her own umbrella to use when it was raining. I found the room a good size for the price and the rate quite reasonable for the area. I would definitely recommend it to both business people and those wishing to explore Singapore easily.

OK only for sleeping
The hotel is located very well, right next to a mrt station, next door to several food courts and shopping centers. The noise level at night was quiet, so we slept well. Unfortunately our rooms view was on a wall, so it was very dark. Daily room cleaning was OK, but if you look into the corners, you will find hairs and dust - not so nice. The room was small and has put it's best years behind it. Our stay was OK, but very expensive for what we've got.

Awful wifi, broken phone, depressing room
As a biz traveler, I rely on a hotel's wifi to get work done. On this front, Oxford was an utter failure. Had an OK connection on my first night, and was unable to connect for more than a minute or two for the remainder of my trip. Asked front desk staff if they could get some tech help and they told me "just wait a while it should come back on eventually." Asked for a wake-up call on my last night that never came (thankfully my smartphone did the trick). Realized why when I attempted to call the front desk to ask about checkout time - there was no dial tone despite being plugged into the wall. The only room available was windowless and was perhaps the most depressing one I've stayed in in Asia. Shower flooded every morning. Really nothing good about the place apart from access to Suntec :(

Near MRT
This is the second time I stayed in this hotel, the reason why I chose this hotel is its close vicinity to MRT, since I am travelling alone for this trip a I booked a smaller room. It's a little cluttered but good enough for 1 person. What I don't like is the bed sheets has some visible stains. For its price, there's not even a complimentary bottle of water. Housekeeping isn't at great either. Overall its a good hotel, a bit pricey for what they can offer.
