Bearable, but disappointing”
Whilst this guest house was relatively cheap, I was misled by the high review score here on Agoda. In reality, this place isn't very good. It was just about bearable for the 4 nights I stayed, given I only paid around US$57, but the reviews aren't accurate. The aircon was barely functional, the walls were in need of a serious paint, the toilet seat was broken, there was no hand soap, and worst of all, no toilet roll! On the plus side, the bed itself was clean and comfy, and the shower was hot. To add to the problems, my room key stopped working daily for the first 2 days, so can only assume the staff had programmed it for a 1 night stay each time. The front desk staff tried to be helpful, but barely spoke a word of English. Also, if you have heavy luggage, don't bother as there is no lift, and lugging 40kg up 2 flights of stairs isn't much fun in 30+ degrees. In hindsight, I'd have been better staying in Central Ambon, and paying a little more for a taxi each day to the dive centre.

15 mins from airport and port. I had water views for A$18!! Aircon worked well and they gave me early check in. No toilet paper but there were tissues. Great waterfront fish restaurant less than 5 minutes walk away. Easy to get to Ambon City on red Hata or Laha minibus (7000rp).
