So much to love”
P California is one of the best budget guesthouse I've stayed at in Thailand, and I've been visiting the country regularly for many years. The owners are friendly, helpful and happy to offer advice and assistance so that you can make the most of your stay in Nang Rong. For my solo trip out to Phanom Rung on a motorbike (which was in great condition), the owner gave me a detailed map marking the back roads to avoid traffic. The restaurant is a rare find. The quality of the food and authenticity of the flavours puts everyone other guesthouse/backpacker restaurant to shame. You'll come to Nang Rong for the ruins, but you might just stay an extra night or two for the food – I did!

Western-style hostel at a reasonable price”
Watch out for the hotel sign at the first main junction as you get into Nang Rong. It says "P. California Hostel 200m" and hop off the bus there. Otherwise it might be difficult to find someone who's willing to bring you there. The room was neat and clean, spacious and comfy. I went on a tour to Phanum Rong with the owner and it was def. worth it. First, I wanted to go on my own, but now I don't regret that I went with a small group. The temple ruins are amazing and interesting.

The hotel P.California Inter Hostel is not really a hostel, but rather a hotel. The room was large, had a big double bed, TV, air conditioning and a little fridge. There was a washbasin, too. The whole room was very pleasant and had a quite nice interior. The bathroom itself consists of a shower and a toilet combined in one room, so the toilet seat might get wet when showering. Everything is really clean, and the hotel and our room were a quiet and comfortable little oasis amid the usual crazyness of Thai city life. Things are simple, this is not a five-star hotel, but really pleasant, and again, it was so tidy like in the cleanest places in Switzerland or Germany The food was good, and the service very friendly. All together, we would gladly recommend this hotel!

The best of Nang Rong”
We are very thankful to staff, they truly made everything within their reach to make us fell welcome. Mr. made exceptional arrangements, like airport pick up and an exceptional afternoon tour to the Historical Park. Only that way we could maximize our very brief stay at Nang Rong. An excellent guess and very knowledgeable also provided excellent guidance when we ventured to explore other temples in the area on our own. Driving one of his motorcycles thorough the rice fields of east Cambodia , was one of the highlights of our entire trip to Cambodia.

family-run hotel, noisy location”
The couple that run this hotel are really nice and are working hard to develop tourism in Nang Rong which is otherwise not a tourist town. They were very helpful in providing driving instructions for us and in directing us to a local silk village which we toured and which was fascinating. Unfortunately for the owners, however, their hotel is on rather a noisy street and we were there for New Year's when a family across the street decided to have a very loud karaoke party! We thus got little sleep the night before a long drive, so we weren't terribly happy. There was clearly nothing the owners could do about this, it was just an unfortunate turn of events but I wouldn't recommend this hostel if you want a quiet stay!

Good place to stay in Nang Rong”
As the name implies, this is more of a hostel than a hotel. That being said, the private rooms are pretty good, although "garden view" might be a bit debatable as all you can see from a not-so-large window is the courtyard between the main building and the bar/restaurant area. It's a good place to stay but I only spent one night there. Renting a scooter to ride out to Phanom Rung was dry convenient and the provided map was quite handy.

Cosey, but mosquito's like it/us also....”
The P.California Hotel is a small, guesthouse-like place, located in a quiet area. The owner is the only one who speaks english well. He adviced us where we should go for sightseeing. (Khmer temples dedicated to the Hindu goddess Shiva - some 30 km from Nang Rong). Nang Rong itself is a small and quiet town, some 50 km south of Buriram. Nothing spectacular to see. Our stay of 2 nights was definitely long enough.

Lovely place run by lovely people”
I spent a wonderfull time in this hotel! The place is beautiful and peacefull! The very nice couple who run this hotel will give you a warm welcoming! And they speak good English and a little bit of french (wich is rare is this part of Thailand)! They organise tours to visit all the beautiful touristic spot of this area!!! The room is nice and clean! The restaurant is veeeeeeery good!!! All of this for a very cheap price... I highly recommand this hotel for everyone.

Friendly staff and great ambiance”
The perfect guest house to my opinion: super friendly staff, they run a very nice business attending all your wishes. They organised for us (and the other backpacker) a day tour which was very interesting. On top of that, great rooms and great food. I would just maybe complain about the breakfast, which could be a bit less cheap (more honey on the pancakes for example). But to be fair this is not a deal breaker.

I'd say this is not a Hostel. It's a well-maintained Guest House with independent rooms. Helpful owner supports everything including sightseeing and rent-a-motorbike. I'll definitely come back again here.
