Clean, comfy and cheap
clean, comfy and cheap
I ended up staying here because the other hotel was fully booked. Overall, the room was adequate, clean and came with a small bathroom. There isn't water boiler in the room, but we found out that you can get hot water near the cafeteria at the lobby. For your information, there is also a common refrigerator and microwave situated on the Ground Floor as well. It comes in really handy for us.

I overnight here as a transit fr Mel to Syd.
Room price is ok, next to a beautiful lake, friendly people.
I expected to chk in late, so I called the hotel to inform them about it, and they told me their reception closed at 10pm. Around 9pm when I reached the town of Albury, I called many times to the hotel for direction to their hotel, no one answer, it goes directly to the voice recorder. We were so exhausted, and the GPS couldn't identify this hotel, so we asked road passer for direction, couldn't believe the hotel is actually located about 15km away fr the town. Not deniable that the surrounding of the hotel (especially the lake) is very beautiful, but the room is very old, and they still use individual boiler to provide hot water for shower. After my fiancée shower, the hotel water stop to supply in the middle of my shower, it is a cool winter night, the instruction above the basin said I need to wait for 15mins for a whole tank of water to boil, with my shampoo on my head, I hv no choice but to shower with Icy cold water!

Review of Angkor Riviera Hotel Siem Reap
Good location (walking distance to pub street and market); buffet breakfast; nice pool and spa facilities; reasonably priced
Our 4-night stay at Angkor Riveira hotel was pleasant and enjoyable. The room was clean and fairly spacious, although there were strange loud noises from upstairs on some occasions (vacuuming?) and we could hear the neighbour's door opening and closing. The outdoor pool was great (albeit a bit small) and the on-site spa offered some great body scrubs and massage packages at reasonable prices (they also called a barber for us after dinner one night). The location of the hotel was very convenient - about 5mins walk to pub street and the old market. Breakfast was a buffet with plenty of choice, and the hotel even prepared a "take-away" breakfast bag for us one morning when we went to watch the sunrise at Angkor Wat and would miss the normal breakfast opening hours. In terms of cons/areas for improvement, the hotel didn't offer any airport or bus station pick-up service (which a lot of guesthouses provide for free). The hotel's laundry service is also really expensive since it is based per item, whereas other laundry services around the old market only charge about $1.50 per kilo.

More of a Caravan Park than a resort
friendly and helpful staff, complimentary continental breakfast
We were looking for a place to rest for our drive from Sydney to Melbourne, Albury seemed a good choice and this hotel came up and seemed reasonable. In reality it's 15 minutes out of your way with no restaurants etc nearby. Next time I would stay somewhere in Albury township. The bed was well past its use-by date. This would however be a great place in summer for a cheap family holiday on the river.
