Excellent stay”

It was so nice to stay here. We have no regrets to choose Marriott even we pay more. It located is Sufers Paradise which is the centre in Gold Coast. Rooms are very nice and big enough. The pool is also fine and relaxing. Staffs are nice and always with smile. Breakfast is fine, many choices and delicous. A real 5-star resort! Must try.

Still the best choice”

Still my #1 choice for a gold coast hotel. Staff's fantastic, the style of the hotel is completely resort like- and you gotta love that pool! Highly recommend the Aveda spa and the Benihana restaurant in the hotel. The bar is also great for drinks on a summer night. I miss the guava juice they give you when you check in in the summer- they need to bring that back! maybe even offer it in the winter? :)

Great Hotel”

The Marriott on the Gold Coast is a fabulous hotel. The staff are fun and friendly, the food is great and the hotel is really nice. The resort style of this hotel plus friendly well trained staff meant it was a great stay. Great atmosphere & great place.

Best place in the Coast!”

The only place i would stay at on the Gold Coast! Its pretty near most places- granted you cannot really walk out and hit the shops and restaurants but it still is in the middle of anywhere you need to go. Service is top notch, from reception, to conceirge to bellboys. Spa is fantastic and i love the benihana out here (always make reservations). I love that they gave out chilled guava juice one summer when i checked in. Not sure if they still do that, but if not, please bring it back! It's such a great touch after a long flight. Love the bar as well in the summer and the pool is phenomenal.

Impressive Hotel with a warm comfortable feel”

this would now be one of my most favourite places to stay in the gold coast. the private lagoons, beach and garden areas overlooking the river are simply spectacular. it's a genuine 5 star resort yet the feeling is that of a tropical mansion. my very comfortable room also boasted amazing views. the staff were exceptionally helpful at all times making the entire experience one that i would highly recommend.

A great place to relax”

There is an air of cool relaxed elegance that has persisted in this hotel since it opened in the early 90's. The large lagoon pool with its many tropical fish swimming alongside you, the lovely gardens, the linear edge pools all make for a wonderful contained paradise secluded from the busy excitement of the Gold coast. The rooms are lovely and spacious. Thoroughly recommend it.

Good hotel with great pools”

it was a good stay,nice ambience and the pools were simply good.nice relaxation spot for a good holiday. just being in the hotel and not going anywhere else in surfers yet so much to enjoy in the hotel itself.walking distance to the beach and surfers paradise makes it so convenient for us.a place worth considering during gold coast holiday for anyone including family with kids as they have big place for kids.

Great 5 stars hotel”

It is super good hotel. Room is Clean and Bed is comfort. i super recommend the beach and swimming pool. it is worth to spend whole day there for relax. Also, lobby provide free internet for use. Only one disadventage, the location is a little bit far from surfer paradise. I often take 15-25minutes walk out for dinner and shopping or 10minutes to bus station.

Brand new room and beautiful buffet brekky”

after getting the most amazingly cheap deal through agoda i expected the renovations to be in full swing with plaster dust through the rooms and hammering noises all day, but even after 3 days i noticed nothing. the rooms were newly renovated and we had a lovely view over the beach. the entry foyer was beautiful and the massive staircase was quite a feature. their buffet breakfast was so extensive that there were locals coming in to enjoy the spread! the position of the hotel is excellent, a short walk into the main area of surfers and a bus stop just metres from the front door. the happiest and friendliest staff ever. in all, this hotel could not be faulted.

Great lagoon and restaurants ”

The best thing about this hotel is the lagoon. The hotel has two man made beaches with a salt water lagoon, which is a great alternative to the beach. There's also a great pool with spa and watersides. The hotel has great restaurants and good sized rooms. The service at this hotel was very good. The only slight downside is that it is a little far from the centre of surfers paradise, which could be a good thing if you prefer a more quiet area.

Our stay at the Marriott was perfect, it rained in Surfers Paradise continuously and this gave us the opportunity to just lay around on a very comfortable bed and room and enjoy each others company, over all it was a good hotel and room!

Lovely family holiday”

Stayed here for 3 nights during August with our 2 year old. This is a lovely hotel, great relaxed tropical vibe. Room was a standard double and beautiful, very comfortable & loved the bathroom - handled our toddler well. The large wardrobe was also good for hiding away the mess. Used room service and that was great too. The beach pool was beautiful and nice to sit around and for pictures, a bit too cold for me to swim in but my 2 year old thought it was great. 2 hot pools were a better temperature, even the heated lagoon pool was not heated enough for my liking in August. Breakfast buffet was wonderful and so was Citrique on the one night we dined al a carte - very much liked the service and the atmosphere. About a 10 - 15 minute walk into the centre of Surfers, but it feels very secluded out in the hotel - in a good way - we had a hard time leaving the serenity.

Luxurious and lovely but beware hidden costs”

Service, decor, rooms and grounds were lovely and lived up to 5 star standard. The staff were all lovely and accomodating, and I can't praise them highly enough. The rooms were modern and nicely done, including spacious bathroom (which I find important). Cleaning was impeccable, our rooms were spotless and towels/toiletries refreshed every morning. The pools were wonderful with nice tropical gardens, waterslide for kids, cute mock cave that you can walk and swim through with mock waterfalls, and sandy beach pool with fishes to snorkel with. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. However, one issue which brought down our impression of the hotel was the hidden costs. It didn't ruin our impression of the staff considering it would have beeen a management issue. For example, there are lovely daybeds all around the pool areas but a charge of $55 for 4 hours use applied. We didn't mind paying and we loved using them, but it wasn't made clear to guests about the charges or that booking was required. We later found in small print, after having to thoroughly search the room folders, that a charge applied for daybeds but it wasn't clearly visible and the fees weren't listed. We also later found out when we wanted to snorkel in the tropical pool that you had to hire the snorkels, again we didn't mind paying but it would have been nice if they were more transparent about it. The fact that snorkelling was a prominent feature of the hotel's advertisements made the hire issue a little deceiving. Food is lovely in the hotel but the price of what you can expect from a 5 star hotel, so we didn't mind this. Other recommendations for improvement to hotel: - offer a sample menu for restaurants in room folders to help with guest choice of dining options. One of the Shangri-La hotels we stayed in had done this and it makes a good impression on guests. - Add a nice scent to lobby (or rooms) as it creates a nice ambience. Most other hotels have started to introduce this.

great stay over xmas, even though busy the hotel was spotless and the buffet breakfast was great and fresh. the pool is great, especially the salt water pool with a little beach, much safer than the gold coast beach for littlies. they also had games for the kids to play. i would definitely recommend this as a family hotel, also close to theme parks.

Great location, grounds and views; dated interiors”

Now undergoing a bit of a renovation. When complete, I trust this will be a great place to stay on the Gold Coast. Even so, without the renovation, the interiors, while dated, are charming. The public areas indoors are overly swank and grand, and the outdoor grounds are lush and tropical, with a natural ocean water swimming area.

Cosy hotel for a short getaway from all the buzz”

The stay was a pleasant one; the room was clean and had a very cosy feeling. it's the best for couples like myself and my girlfriend. the was a nice view of the ocean too, and we really enjoyed sitting at the balcony. the toilet was big enough too. the pool was awesome and we spent the whole night by the pool. the only thing was that the hotel was a little bit far from the main area of gold coast, and the hotel was probably a little old. there were quite a few newer hotels at surfers which we could have chosen, but we decided to stay here because of its name and reputation.

From when we arrived at receipton, staff were very helpfull, offer a upgrade for very small increase in cost. Assisted with arranging evening dinning. Room was excellent of the 17th Floor. The Japanense resturant was excellent value. Easy walking distance to centre and beaches at Surfers. Would stay their again.
