Merewether Motel has paid attention to detail and tries to please guests. Our only disappointment was our room had a high slim window and we had no outlook at all. The motel is accessible from a back street and there is no signage to direct travelers to it which meant we drove past and turned around. Probably people with a GPS don't need this. The pool is excellent.

I used the Merewether Motel for our stay in Newcastle for my sisters 70th birthday party, because it was central to the venue and to my sisters home address, the Motel was spotless, a pleasure to stay at.

You get more than expected”

Merewether Motel is not what you would expect from a Motel accomodation. It was staying in your own personal apartment with all of the added luxuries of modern spaces and a full function kitchen. Wi definately be coming back!

Total relaxation ”

Merewether motel was perfect for our stay of 4 nights. Rooms were comfortable, pool good, location perfect, motel bikes to ride to the beach was a high light. Enjoyed our staff and will stay again.

Clean motel with excellent amenities”

Very happy with our stay in this motel. Rachel did an amazing job confirming our stay as we did late check in and ensured everything we need was provided in our room; i.e.: baby cot, microwave, utensils, bowls, pool towels. The pool is clean and spa is well heated so the kids loved it! Will totally recommend this motel to anyone coming to Newcastle.

Exceptional”

Have stayed at this motel a few times. This trip was, as before, excellent. The service from reception on arrival was top class. Had occasion to speak with staff during our stay and again, the response was polite , speedy and fruitful. The motel is, I believe, the best value around Newcastle.

Best place we stayed at”

Our favourite place we stayed at (out of 7 motels/hotels). Lots of parking, good Internet. Great rooms (with heater!). They have (free) good bikes and there are some lovely rides along the coast to East Newcastle. Walking distance down the road is a shopping centre (with a Coles etc) and a pub (the Mary Ellen). Perfect for a stop-off or for a couple of days exploring the area.

The room was very nice.Tea, coffee, biscuits provided.It is situated in a nice area, close to the Merewether beach & shops.

Good value property with some nice extras”

Lovely motel with some quirky extras. The small sink in the bathroom sends the water into the cistern for reuse. There is another sink in the bedroom. Fresh milk Nd a tea towel are added extras. There are free bikes on offer and free apples in the reception. Receptionist was really friendly and helpful.

Clean Basic Comfortable”

We stayed here on a short trip to Newcastle to have dinner with friends. Just looking for a cheap place to stay so we didn't have to drive home. Very pleasantly surprised. The place has had a recent renovation and the room was basic but clean, fresh and very comfortable. Great value and suited our purpose perfectly. I'd would not hesitate to stay here again.

Nothing not to love. Good location, friendly staff, great price, clean and well-presented room. Bonus finds included super comfy bed, lovely strong water pressure in the shower, and complimentary Continental breakfast that we were not expecting.

We stayed in a newly renovated, comfortable, clean room. The bathroom also featured an eco-friendly toilet/sink combo which was cool. It might have just been our bad luck, but we could hear other guests staying in adjacent rooms having a loud conversation (argument) in the early morning. Otherwise, good value for money.

Badly let down by the bathroom ”

The rooms were clean modern and well appointed but the bathroom if you could call it that was tiny badly designed and a bit musty. There was not enough room to even dry yourself. No vanity and a mirror in the shower cubicle. The only running water in the bathroom was in a dinky bowl on top of the cistern and only worked after flushing. There was a noisy fan that seemed to be movement controlled and kept up its din for ages every time we went near the “ bathroom “ The fridge was also noisy and could not be turned off. Four star? NO.

Excellent budget accommodation ”

We really enjoyed our stay. Excellent room design considering how compact it is. Great location. Our room had no view whatsoever but we were out at the beach early each day - just a 5min drive. Would stay there again!
