Our Opinion”

In general the stay was fine but not over the top. We are members of the Rydges Priority Guest Rewards and have stayed in a number of Rydges before in NSW and ACT and the service was always really good and friendly. Our opinion is that the Reception staff were very friendly and "Rydges" like, the service at the rooms was nice and friendly, as well as the staff and quality of the food at the Italian restaurant and Breakfast facilities. Parking was too expensive and not convenient. Service from Concierge was not there and could not assist us with a simple request and treated the request in a pedantic way, inclusive of mentioning that the hotel policy was of not doing that, while explained that in Canberra they have assisted us with the cable as well as in Cronulla and North Sydney Rydges. The hotel is nice and the service from some staff need to be reviewed, especially when dealing with clients that enjoy the way Rydges normally service us.

I have stayed at the Rydges Sydney Central Hotel several times and will go back whenever I visit Sydney. The staff are very friendly and I enjoy the comfort and quiet. Except for room 435 which tends to creak at night. The room service is a little pricey, however is very tasty.

Most memorable stay in Sydney. Room was very clean with crisp linen. bed firmness just right, very comfortable king bed. bathroom was prestine, like its newly renovated - all knobs are working and size was just right. room have full size sofa which was very useful since im with my 2 kids. The hotel staff are very accomodating and courteous. Hotel is a decent place to stay - good size lobby and well kept. Free internet in the whole hotel was very convenient too. the location was excellent, stone throw away from central station and a lot of eating places to choose from. value for money. I will stay here on my next visit to sydney.

This was one of the better experiences I've had in awhile. Comfortable bed. Large room. Work-out facilities. Two minute walk to one of my favorite hamburger spots in Sydney (Chur), very short walk to Central Station, and within ten minutes walk of hundreds of restaurants and pubs from Surrey Hills to Central and only few minutes more of a stroll to Darling Harbour area. Front desk staff were great. Really pleasant and helpful. And the room rate I had was very good - unfortunately its Sydney and rates can fluctuate seemingly randomly from $120 to $520 from one night to the next. Excellent experience. Recommended.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Very close to free Sydney CBD Shuttle Bus, which makes it a convenient place to stay without having to be in the bustle of downtown. Quiet area, close to Central Station. Staff very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast (which was included in our room rate) was exceptional quality, and was available until 10.30 a.m. which allowed a holiday sleep in. Check-out by 11 a.m. was also really appreciated. We definitely want to return.

Location is great, staff are great, rooms are great and unlike a lot of hotels in big cities the room was quiet. Having a go-too location is Sydney has been a target and i have found it with the Rydges Sydney Central :)

Great location Good service”

tv reception in my room was poor , picture was grainy. that aside room was a good size batheroom was modern and kept spotless throughout my stay. hotel resturant staff were very freindly as were the staff at reception. i was in sydney fot the charity shield, the south sydney leauges club was a 10 minute walk up chalmers street another bonus for me. no qualms about staying at this hotel again in the future. if your after clean, comfortable, hotel centrally located the sebal at surrey is worth your consideration.

Sebel Surrey Hills Review”

The Sebel was the base for our recent trip tom Sydney. It was the first time for both me and my girlfriend travelling to Sydney and the hotel was located a 2 minute walk from central station, which made it easy to do all the sightseeing we wanted. The rooms were clean and comfortable and there was no noise to complain about. Overall it was a very enjoyable stay and would recommend the hotel to anyone travalling to Sydney.

Sebel Surry Hills Hotel - Sydney”

The newly renovated hotel is ideally situated within one block of Central station making it very convenient for either a short train ride or the slightly cheaper bus ride from Sydney airport. Whilst not located at Sydney harbour it is only a 40 minute walk or short bus ride away, a free bus service being available upto 3:30 pm. The price was very reasonable for the standard of hotel and location and although the breakfast was expensive a discount was available for pre booked breakfasts. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and umbrellas are available at reception for wet weather.

Enjoy Happy Hour”

It's a great deal for staying central of Sydney. Room is in decent size & bed was big. Most enjoyable was "Happy Hour" in bar of hotel's. 5 to 7pm , all house drink , including house wine, sparkling wine, beers & sprite were all in 3 dollars. Dinning was convince too, Chinatown is just walking distance from hoetel. Sydney tourist attarctions are close by, could access by walking or taking train from central station.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would definitely come back here again. The staff were friendly, the room was clean and comfortable and it's in the perfect location to access Sydney CBD.

Excellent Accomodation”

Great rooms, caterers for your every need, spa and sun deck are great. Close to Darling Harbour, Monorail service and city attractions. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Brilliant service and this price is excellent for this top rating accomodation. All staff very curtious and helpfull. Stay here next time you are in Sydney. You can't go wrong.

Convenient hotel with large rooms”

We chose this hotel mainly for the location - a short walk from Central Station, and a longer but enjoyable walk from Sydney Cricket ground. The older part of the hotel, converted from a grand old Sydney building and lovingly restored, has large high ceilinged bedrooms with wonderfully comfortable beds. Service is excellent, but the dining room and bar have little ambiance. The hotel is proud to claim that it is the successor to the very famous (notorious?) Townhouse Hotel with its late night piano bar hosting famous names from the world of entertainment. Unfortunately the current bar feels more like a late night cafe at a railway station - not at all the same thing.

Good facility, good location”

We arrived in the early morning in Sydney after a long trip. After arrive at the hotel, nothing surprised that the room is not ready and we can only check in at 2pm. The reception is very friendly and helply. We left our bags in the hotel and hang around in the city. The location is good and easily get access to China Town etc. by walk. After check-in, the room is quite big and the facility is pretty new. We like it. Overall, we are quite satified.

A lovely hotel”

I got a fantastic rate for this hotel from Agoda. I searched many websites for a 3 night stay in Sydney, all had either the Saturday night booked out or at nearly double the one night rate. Agoda was the only one with rooms available at the normal rate for this hotel. We had no trouble getting to the hotel using the airport shuttle - only $12 from airport to hotel. The front looks quite unassuming, until you enter and realise the floor of the foyer is actually a giant fish tank. Checking in was a breeze, everything was all ready for us, the staff was friendly and explained all the facilities and services available clearly. Our room was quite large, nearly a suite. It had a king size bed, bedside tables, a sofa bed, coffee table, desk, bar fridge plus an extra single bed(This wasn't requested but someone thoughtfully added this to our room- we were going to use the sofa bed) plus all the usual furnishings. The beds were so comfortable, it was a pleasure to return to them each night after a hard day of walking, sightseeing and shopping! The location was fairly good, on a quiet street but not too far from George St, Central Station, free 555 bus stop... Darling Harbour, Chinatown and Paddy's Market are all within walking distance (if you walk in the right direction!) - unfortunately we managed to take a wrong turn the first day and it took us ages to retun to the hotel.

I took train link from Sydney airport to Central station, the hotel just 5mins walk from the station, very convenient. Walking distance to many eateries, 9mins walk to Chinatown Room waa clean, aircond was slightly noisy.

During New Year Eve till New Year Day, Sebel Surry Hills Hotel provided us a good service, clean room, nice staffs in the best location in Sydney. I love the hotel style, so chic and feel very comfortable. These is a good memory for me and my family in the special holidays.
