Very bad experience
The kitchen is big. And nothing worthy to mention
The space of room is very limited, and with no any lockers or clothet inside the room where I can put stuff. The sound of doors close and open and the footsteps on the hall were so noisy that I didn't sleep well. It was a very terrible experience, and I am very not advise here to stay.

good facility can be managed better
centrally located, ensuite room, not too expensive
We went to 3 YHAs during the whole trip. While the other two gave us great experience, this one at Rotorua stood out as a black sheep. Firstly, there was blood stain in the bed sheet. With wide open window and door, the air exchange in the room as still poor even though it's windy outside. The kitchen was the biggest among 3 YHAs, but it was always messy. Clean tea cloth was always out. Rubbish bin location was so unfriendly to cooking. Bird poops were left on tables and chairs without cleaning. The facility was relatively new and nice, but better management and housekeeping would be beneficial.

Friendly and budget hostel. Good for one night.
Spacious communal area
Spent a night here with 3 other friends in a double+bunk bed with private bathroom. Room was dark (not enough lighting) and constantly smelled like rotten eggs, probably because it was close to the park. Communal kitchen area was organized, spacious and stocked with pretty much everything you need to make meals.

Clean, spacious hostel in Rotorua
Spacious private en suites with kettle and fridge, huge kitchen and dining area, friendly staff
One of the more modern YHAs in New Zealand. The private en suite rooms are a decent size with table and chairs, a fridge and kettle. There is free parking on the road outside. The kitchen is huge with plenty of storage and seating. Staff were friendly and helpful
