            A very special place”

Pai is a very special place, and Pai Chan Cottage a very special place to stay in Pai. While the hut is exactly what you'd expect for the price - a basic wooden shack - the view over the rice fields, the lovely little pool, the generous and comfortable patio, the very friendlt staff, and the excellent brunch options far exceed the usual budget backpacker amenities at other guest houses. We enjoyed our stay so much that we were a bit sad to go after only two nights. We are planning on coming back and staying for longer!

            Great location, excellent facilities”

The swimming pool, charming poolside bure and beautiful gardens were the highlights

My stay at Pai Chan was perfect, the little bungalow was lovely. I chose this guesthouse because of the pool, and it exceeded my expectations, it was really beautiful. It's location just out of town, across the bridge meant it was lovely and secluded, but still very close to the main shopping and restaurant area. I would highly recommend the Pai Chan to travelers looking for a more quiet and relaxing stay. I did not dine at the Pai Chan, so I cannot comment on the meals, but I did enjoy a platter of seasonal fresh fruit by the pool which was excellent.

            A real gem!”

After having travelled for three weeks, our stay at Pai Chan was the first where we really felt relaxed! The bungalows are simple, but cosy. The bed a bit on the spring'y side and the pool could have been cleaner, but that didnt stop us from enjoying a chilled day relaxing at the hotel and pool to the fullest. Close to the "city" but far enough to be quiet and not disturbed by anything but nature. The food was fresh and very good, the included breakfast lovely as well. And they view! Oh, the view! Wish we could have stayed for a week. Book at least three days here because both Pai and Pai Chan are winning!

One of the best cottage in Pai”

I stayed in Pai for 2 nights, and stayed in this place for the first night. Service was amazing. They picked me up from the town to their cottage (which is only 10 or 5 minutes walk). Location is still reachable to the walking street, and the view, the view was just so nice. I have the rice field view directly from my bed. In the morning I enjoy their many variety of breakfast, while enjoying this amazing view. I was having minor problem with bugs which can came to your room. Well this is of course still torelable, I mean with this price, you don't expect 5 stars cottage condition. Seems that I was the only one staying due to low season. The sounds of toads and frog along with the summer bugs will hypnotized you and lead you to your deep sleep! Once more, love the breakfast!

            Exceptional”

Lovely place to stay in Pai, especially if you’re a couple. Good food, nice location, beautiful view, adorable cottages. (They’re dark inside, like another reviewer said, but that’s what keeps them cool with just a fan.) The pool was closed when I was there which was quite disappointing.

            Pai Chan is a Gem”

This place is amazing for the ridiculously affordable price. A steal- as they say! Beautiful view and lounge area and a pool to cool down in. Good food with an extensive menu, delicious drinks, loved the fresh fruit smoothies and all of the prices were so affordable for the quality. Customer Service was slightly tempermental at times but mostly good. Cute, modern-rustic cottages/bungalows. All around relaxing atmosphere.

            cuisine rocks”

real baguetes, lovely pool, amazing vieuw

I had a hard time finding the place, it is not indicated as cottage and cuisine, just chan cottage. When you cross the bridge, you come to a crossing, dont go left, don't continue ( the road to fluid swimmingpool) but take the right road up the steep hil, the left one leads to the sunday farmers market. Staff wasnt overly friendly. I wanted a boiled egg on my sandwich instead of fried, she looked at me if I was joking. But she did as I requested. The sandwiches are amazing, real fresh brown european bread, baguettes etc. Also when I arrived they couldnt even be bothered to leave the table to serve me, they said they were on a break. But as you'll get to observe, they are at the table eating most of the time. The pool is really nice and clean. The vieuw was excellent. There was a lot of noise from fluids party the first night, but the second was great. It is quite recommended for a romantic stay as a couple,

Fabulous place, very chilled out but within a few minutes walk to walking street market. Cottages are great, ours had double windows looking over paddy fields. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Pool was great, swimming under palm tree looking atpaddy fields. .doesn't bet much better than that ! Breakfast included was good, coffee great. Wpuld thoroughly recommend if you're looking for chilled out arty, Thai inspired place.

Great location - awesome padi fields but beware bugs!”

Pai Chan Cottage was phenomenal when it came to the morning views from our room overlooking the amazing rice padi fields in front of us. There was no a/c in our room - but that was fine and welcomed as the fan and the night breeze was cooling enough. Our one complaint was how the bathroom was swarming with ants at night. I use the word "swarming"intentionally as it really was that. The walls and the floors were all covered in ants in the bathroom at night. Overall cleanliness was OK given that it was a rustic little hut. Don't get us wrong, we had an amazing time. We just preferred not having the ants all over the toilet seats and bathroom floors.

            Relaxing!!!”

The atmosphere, the staff, THE PUG!!

It was our second time returning and we we're not disapointed. Great room, large bed, warm shower. The food here is to die for, did not have one bad meal and at a brilliant price too! Peaceful and in a good location, close enough to everything but at a distance to make it ok if you didn't want to go for a night out! & what can we say about the pug, probably the best and largest little guy I've ever met. Staff we're very friendly and couldn't do more for you, was more like a little family! Definetly recommend, and hope to come back again!!!

            very chilled out. ”

We really enjoyed our stay here. Its really.nice and quiet. The bungalows, pool and restaurant are surrounded by lush green foliage and wild life. It has a great view over the fields and is what you would want when staying in Pai. The food is of a very high standard, Thai and western, and at a reasonable cost. If youre wanting a chilled stay this is the place for you. If your wanting a party vibe I'd suggest staying at circus hostel or something like that. over all we loved it here.

            Loved pai chan cottage!”

The room was so peaceful. We would absolutely stay there again if we return to Pai. Only a 10 minute walk from the center and a delicious breakfast! Staff is not the friendliest but it didn't bother us.

            great location stunning views”

lovely design and views, peace and quiet but you can have fun with friends

this is a tiny place, smaller than appears on the website but is visually very pretty, views of paddyfield, amazing shrubbery, lovely style wooden bungalows and the owners have great retro artefacts everywhere, really trendy little hangout. the owners are nice but they do not go out of there way to serve you, and it isnt typical thai service with a smile, they do not welcome you open arms and do seem to keep their distance unless you are a longterm resident or befriend them somehow, this felt a little weird at first but it wasnt a problem if you just accept it , it is true they have friends there alot, but this shouldnt be a problem or you, they are reserved, if you want typical hotel type service then dont bother staying here, if you just want a base to explore pai then do. not a place to stay all evening as appears they close early although the food there is fantastic , i thought jt was a shame we couldnt get service at night, it might have been as xmas or as others werent there not worth opening but i thought strange they werent making most of xmas partys to open and make money selling beers etc. there is however a fab outside area which people got drunk on over xmas holidays, including myself with drinks bought outside, i think its fine for families but it isnt a family resort at also do be aware that always going to share with young backpacker types who might be noisier. my biggest disappointment was that i paid a huge amount for this place on agoda, thinking i was getting bigger space, it was 30 pounds a night for us as a family and we just had a mattress on the floor as there wasnt a family bungalow available, this was a mistake we didnt rectify and with four bkfast included i didnt make a fuss, but compared with what. i could have got for that money it wasnt the best place i couldve had at that price, my other family friends paid much much less. the dinky pool felt too cold to swim in in dec, but im sure fine as gets hotter, was still nice for kids to dip

the view on the mountains, the warm and friendly people, comfortable rooms

When I arrived I was given a warm welcome. I planned on staying for 2 nights, but stayed for 2 weeks. The people of the staff became friends or better yet, family. They took really good care of me good as if I was there son. I had to switch rooms a few times, but they where all really nice and clean with beautifull views on the mountains and rice fields. It felt like a home away from home. Make the effort to sit with the people and get to know them and you'll have the best time of your life
