Nice teak bungalow although mine didn’t have a view of the field and mountains. Had a large modern bathroom with a real shower head only there was only enough hot water for 5 minutes, not enough to wash your hair. There was also no ther furniture and I couldn’t figure out where one is supposed to hang towels; hooks or towel bars in the shower area would have been handy. What is super nice is a pool & placesvto lounge with those lovely views. Well worth staying here!
Fabulous place, very chilled out but within a few minutes walk to walking street market. Cottages are great, ours had double windows looking over paddy fields. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Pool was great, swimming under palm tree looking atpaddy fields. .doesn't bet much better than that ! Breakfast included was good, coffee great. Wpuld thoroughly recommend if you're looking for chilled out arty, Thai inspired place.
Nice bungalow in Pai”
Bungalow is basic but provides you with everything you need. However, some of the things are broken in the bungalow (sink and co). Breakfast is good and had quite alot of options. Location is perfect for people who want to be in the center but not right in the middle of the bars and all the noise. Location is walkable. Staff english is limited and hospitality can be improved. It didn't bother me however.
The wooden bungalows were clean and well aired w fans. They are a bit rustic, but mosquito nets around the beds were provided. Did not have any problems w bugs. Spacious room and the curry was delicious. Great location on the edge of town, easy to walk to everything.
very chilled out. ”
We really enjoyed our stay here. Its really.nice and quiet. The bungalows, pool and restaurant are surrounded by lush green foliage and wild life. It has a great view over the fields and is what you would want when staying in Pai. The food is of a very high standard, Thai and western, and at a reasonable cost. If youre wanting a chilled stay this is the place for you. If your wanting a party vibe I'd suggest staying at circus hostel or something like that. over all we loved it here.
extended our stay almost a week because we enjoyed it so much here. The lights in the rooms were dim but the views were nice, the food was good, and it had one of the most comfortable beds we've stayed in.
One of the best cottage in Pai”
I stayed in Pai for 2 nights, and stayed in this place for the first night. Service was amazing. They picked me up from the town to their cottage (which is only 10 or 5 minutes walk). Location is still reachable to the walking street, and the view, the view was just so nice. I have the rice field view directly from my bed. In the morning I enjoy their many variety of breakfast, while enjoying this amazing view. I was having minor problem with bugs which can came to your room. Well this is of course still torelable, I mean with this price, you don't expect 5 stars cottage condition. Seems that I was the only one staying due to low season. The sounds of toads and frog along with the summer bugs will hypnotized you and lead you to your deep sleep! Once more, love the breakfast!
Loved pai chan cottage!”
The room was so peaceful. We would absolutely stay there again if we return to Pai. Only a 10 minute walk from the center and a delicious breakfast! Staff is not the friendliest but it didn't bother us.
It was our second time returning and we we're not disapointed. Great room, large bed, warm shower. The food here is to die for, did not have one bad meal and at a brilliant price too! Peaceful and in a good location, close enough to everything but at a distance to make it ok if you didn't want to go for a night out! & what can we say about the pug, probably the best and largest little guy I've ever met. Staff we're very friendly and couldn't do more for you, was more like a little family! Definetly recommend, and hope to come back again!!!
Clean bungalows, okay beds, swimming pool, nice views to rice paddies and mountains... This place has a lot of potential but somehow it lacked something... I didn’t see any other guests at all and the owners were always hanging at the bar but I never got a homely feeling. It was just boring unfortunately.
Great location, great food, lovely room, beautiful views and friendly staff.
Lovely place to stay in Pai, especially if you’re a couple. Good food, nice location, beautiful view, adorable cottages. (They’re dark inside, like another reviewer said, but that’s what keeps them cool with just a fan.) The pool was closed when I was there which was quite disappointing.
Silence in the middle of backpackers paradise city”
Pro Beautiful view of the rice fields Pool Breakfast was awesome ( not included) Quiet place Nice cottages Near the city center The owner drove us to the bus station on our way back We would definitely come back Contra Mosquito net smelled bad No daily cleaning of the room No towels No climate just ventilator But what will you expect for this good price ....
Pai Chan is a Gem”
This place is amazing for the ridiculously affordable price. A steal- as they say! Beautiful view and lounge area and a pool to cool down in. Good food with an extensive menu, delicious drinks, loved the fresh fruit smoothies and all of the prices were so affordable for the quality. Customer Service was slightly tempermental at times but mostly good. Cute, modern-rustic cottages/bungalows. All around relaxing atmosphere.
A real gem!”
After having travelled for three weeks, our stay at Pai Chan was the first where we really felt relaxed! The bungalows are simple, but cosy. The bed a bit on the spring'y side and the pool could have been cleaner, but that didnt stop us from enjoying a chilled day relaxing at the hotel and pool to the fullest. Close to the "city" but far enough to be quiet and not disturbed by anything but nature. The food was fresh and very good, the included breakfast lovely as well. And they view! Oh, the view! Wish we could have stayed for a week. Book at least three days here because both Pai and Pai Chan are winning!
A very special place”
Pai is a very special place, and Pai Chan Cottage a very special place to stay in Pai. While the hut is exactly what you'd expect for the price - a basic wooden shack - the view over the rice fields, the lovely little pool, the generous and comfortable patio, the very friendlt staff, and the excellent brunch options far exceed the usual budget backpacker amenities at other guest houses. We enjoyed our stay so much that we were a bit sad to go after only two nights. We are planning on coming back and staying for longer!
Fooled by the rating”
Originally booked the place due to great photos and reviews but was very disappointed. First the good, it is in a quiet area, away from the main town. Now the bad: 1. Construction going on from 7amish to afternoon so could not enjoy my quiet days in my room. 2. Expect to sleep with mosquitos and bugs in your room. It is crazy how many mosquito bites I got. 3. No warm/hot water. Just expect cold showers. 4. Wifi only available in common area but it is always crowded with owners/workers. 5. Limited source of information from the owners/workers. I do not miss this place and will not be coming back.
friendly staff, nice rooms, beautifull views”
When I arrived I was given a warm welcome. I planned on staying for 2 nights, but stayed for 2 weeks. The people of the staff became friends or better yet, family. They took really good care of me good as if I was there son. I had to switch rooms a few times, but they where all really nice and clean with beautifull views on the mountains and rice fields. It felt like a home away from home. Make the effort to sit with the people and get to know them and you'll have the best time of your life
Beautiful hostel, big rooms & great swimming pool”
+ close to town and to the bars that are open the latest, + no noize from the bars, + great swimming pool (24/7), + very friendly staff (they give you discount before you even ask for it, + amazing food (western & thai), + very big bungalows, + pretty bathroom with very hot shower (if you choose), + garden where you can choose to sit in the shade or in the sun, + nice book exange, + not too busy ('cause there are only 8 bungalows, so book ahead), + cheap!! tbh for a double!!!
A few pros and cons”
food is good but prices are less in town, also small servings for the thai dishes. the rooms were lovely and clean with a gorgeous outdoor shower. we didn't use the pool as the water was very dirty – most guests were avoiding it. staff are not particularly polite, and the small seating area was always occupied by the owners friends and family, which left few seats for guests. a wedding was also held on one of the evenings we were there with loud music on until 3am.
